The walk back was quiet. I mean we'd just seen 12 people die of course it was going to be quiet. I still couldn't believe that Sang-woo killed that man. I kept looking back at Sae byeok, she must've sustained a bad injury especially if she had to her side the whole time. When we made it back to the dorm I helped Sae byeok to walk to our bed.

"I don't know what's going on, but we need to get a better look at what you're dealing with because this could be fatal." I said to her as I sat her down.

"Haneul, I promise it's not that bad. I will still make it to the end." She said to me, I knew she wouldn't. Something was telling me I didn't have long left with her at all.

"All I know is I don't feel like losing the love of my life today." I said to her while sitting next to her.

"And you won't." She told me. The doors then opened after the buzzing sound.

"Players, we sincerely congratulate and commend you all successfully making it through the first five games. The four of you are now the finalists and as such, we have prepared a special gift for each of you. Before we reveal the gift, please take a moment to change into the outfits we have brought." The masked man said to us, Sae byeok and I took a box before going into the bathroom. When she took off her top and I saw the shard in her.

"No, this can't be happening." I said to her in a whisper.

"I'll be okay, Haneul. Just get changed." She said to me before pulling the glass out. She grunted and I heard blood splatter on the floor, I looked away and held in my tears. I really was going to lose the love of my life. She then applied pressure to it.

"Let me." I said before ripping her shirt and wrapping it around her and tightening it around her waist. We then washed our hands and got changed.

"Haneul, if I don't make it. Please remember the good times that we had and not the bad times like this." She said to me while changing. It would be hard for me to not do that.

"I can try." I said to her.

"Good. I love you Haneul, please don't forget that." She said before kissing me softly on my lips. I kissed her back.

"I love you too." I said to her. When we walked back in, there was a table in the shape of a square. We were given steak, water, wine and vegetables. This was a nice dinner for a change.

"Tonight's feats is prepared as a token of gratitude for the sacrifice and effort that you finalists have made, and to encourage you all to preform even more splendidly in the final game. Now please relax and enjoy your feast." The masked man told us, I picked up my knife and fork and began to eat. We all started to eat except Sae byeok. She must be feeling weak. All I know is, I would definitely be filled up tonight. I grabbed my bread roll and started to eat it. But I couldn't help but to keep looking at Sae byeok. To ease my mind I drank some wine. After we'd finished eating I noticed that Sae byeok barely ate anything. But she needed strength. The masked men took everything away except a knife. Did they want us to kill each other. We all looked around. I wouldn't mind killing Sang-woo but not the others. I picked up my knife, if that man came anywhere close to me, he'd be a dead man. They took the tables out and I was hugging Sae byeok for possible the last time.

"If I die, Haneul. Promise me you won't try and die to be with me." She said to me.

"How can I make a promise I'll struggle to keep." I said to her. I then rested my head on her shoulder.

"Sae byeok, Haneul." Gi-hun said making Sae byeok pull her knife on him. "It's all right. I didn't come here to kill you both. You've been dozing off. I'd have killed you already if I wanted to. But Haneul would've been first. I have this with me because of Sang-woo there. Protection, you know." He said to us before putting his knife down. Sae byeok then put her knife down. He sat on the floor next to us. "You're not holding up too well, huh?" He asked her.

"No, it's okay. I feel fine. Haneul's looking after me." She said to him.

"So how come you barely touched your food earlier?" He asked her.

"It wasn't very well cooked, that's all." She said before taking a shaky breath.

"Stop lying, please." He said to her I looked away.

"And if I'm hurt? Are you gonna try to treat it? You need to think about yourself. You too, Haneul. Just leave me. I'll be okay." She said to us both.

"I'm not leaving you." I said to her.

"Hey, Kang Sae byeok and Son Haneul. We should stick together. We can beat him. Whatever the game, we'll help each other get through this as teammates. Show that psychopath what we can do. Share all that prize money and just run away." He said before I looked up at that money.

"And do you know what you're gonna do with all that money once we get out?" She asked him, seeming as she knew my plan.

"I'd pay my debt off first. And but a nice clean store in the city for my mom. She always hoped to run a, a real store, not just the kind of little stall. And I would...finally start being a dad to my girl...for once in my life." He said to us, I didn't realize he had a child.

"How old is your daughter?" Sae byeok.

"She's ten." He answered, a year older than my sister.

"She's a young older than my little sister." I said to him with a smile.

"That's also how old my little brother is." She answered.

"And where is your brother and you're sister staying now?" He asked us.

"She's in America with my mom." I said to him, I missed them both. Along with my dad.

"In orphanage. I promised that he'd get out of there soon. Our mother is stuck in the north right now. I said I'd get her once I was able to make enough money, and I'll get us all a house." She said to him.

"There's so much in there. I think even with half, you'll have plenty." He said to her, that was true.

'Hey, Gi-hun. I think you and us should make a deal." She said to him, what kind of deal would this be exactly.

"What kind of deal?" He asked.

"What is it?" I asked her hesitantly.

"Just in case either of us...can actually make it out of this hellhole somehow, we'll look after each other's loved ones, okay? And if anything happens to me, make sure that Haneul doesn't do anything stupid, okay?" She asked, I couldn't accept because we were making out.

"Don't say that. Come on. We'll beat Sang-woo, and then, we'll get out of here together." He said to us.

"Hopefully, I like this little trio between us." I said to him with a smile.

"I still want you to swear, though. I need you to swear that you'll look after him." She said to him before he shushed her. Before standing up and looking at Sang-woo. He started to walking away. I saw him take his knife out.

"Don't do it. That isn't you. You're a good person at heart." She said to him.

"And if you do it, you'll never forgive yourself." I said making him out his knife down. Sae byeok changed for the worse and she began to groan.

"Hey. Hey, what's wrong? Hey, you're...you're..." He started she was moaning in pain. He pulled back her blazer to see the patch of blood. "You're...what happened? When? When did you get hurt? Shit." He said to her before applying pressure, I took Sae byeok's hand for what would probably be the last time.

"Mister." She said to him, I felt my eyes fill with tears.

"Huh?" He said to her.

"I think I wanna go. I'd like to go home now." She said to him.

"I want to as well." I said to her with a nod.

"Hey, hold on, Sae-byeok. Stay here. Don't let yourself go. Just keep on holding this. Hold on for Haneul. I'll go get someone, okay?" He said before running.

"Haneul, kiss me for the last time." She said to me.

"I'm not kissing you because you're not gonna die." I said to her she kissed me to shut me up. I saw Sang-woo approach us. "No, please. Don't hurt her. Please don't." I started before he stabbed her. In the neck. I had her blood on me. The lights came on and the alarm blared. I started crying. I stood up and was ready to fight to Sang-woo. But I collapsed. "No, not Sae byeok." I said while crying. Gi-hun ran over and lifted her lifeless body.

"Sae-byeok. Sae...Sae-byeok. Sae-byeok. No. Oh, no. Sae-byeok. Oh, no. Sae-byeok, no." Gi-hun said while sobbing.

"How could you kill her! You bastard man! Why did you kill me Sae byeok." I said while crying. I stood up and held her lifeless hand before kissing her lips. Gi-hun went to attack Sang-woo but he was stopped. I'd lost my everything. The girl that made me, me. One of the masked men pushed me against the wall so I couldn't move but I watched as they carried her lifeless body and put her in a box. I didn't know how to live without her. The girl who made me laugh and smile. Who brought out my best side. When they went away Gi-hun walked over to me and sat beside me.

"Come here, Haneul." He said to me before pulling me into his embrace.

"We weren't supposed to end like this. We were supposed to be forever. I've got nothing left now" I said while sobbing, I made him cry even more.

"I know kid, but we'll make sure we take Sang-woo down before anything." He said to me, I nodded.

"I want justice for the love of my life." I said to him. I definitely was making sure that Sang-woo would never come out of this place alive.
