Chapter 1
A girl ran out of her house and dashed out of the village, looking for a certain hut. She looked around the deserted land and sighed, giving up on hope. The girl fell on the ground and let the tears run from her yellow eyes and land on the sandy ground. In the distant, she heard footsteps coming toward her, but she figured that they were going to town. "Is something wrong, little girl?" A voice asked.
The girl lifted her head up and saw a hooded figure, extending their hand out towards her. "Oh, I'm fine." She lied a little, wiping her tears away.
"No you're not, you're lying." The hooded figure replied, their bright purple eyes staring into the girls. "There's a death that's coming onto your family soon, right?" The figure took off their hood and revealed a black middle aged woman - who looked like she was in her 30's - with dark blue hair and had writing all over her dark skin.
"How did you-"
"You need this right?" The woman interrupted, showing her a light purple substance in a vial, the thing the girl needed. The girl got onto her hands and knees and looked at the older woman, tears forming in her eyes.
"Please! I need that to save my younger sister, I'll do anything!"
"Anything, huh?" The woman stood up and reached under her hood, bringing out a stick with the top shaped like a moon with a turquoise gem dangling in the middle. "Since your so desperate for this vial, then make a contact with me."
"A what?"
"A contract, to be a magical girl." The woman smirked a little bit, her grip tightening on her walking stick. The girl sat there for a while, deciding if she should do this or not, then she stood up forcefully.
"Please!" She exclaimed to the woman, looking into her purple eyes. The woman grasped onto the girls temples, holding the turquoise gem above her. The woman's engravings on her dark skin started to glow a light blue and her eyes did the same thing. The girls body felt hot inside and out, then it stopped.
The woman wrapped a necklace around her neck and dropped the vial in her hand. "Don't lose your necklace, you'll be punished if you do. Don't tell anyone about this little meeting here, you'll have a good chance of death if you do. Also, the names Zephyr." The woman replied, a small smirk on her lips.
"Oh, okay then. I'm Lucrezia."
"Nice to meet you, Lucrezia, the Gods will be pleased. Meet me in a week." Zephyr replied with a smile, putting her hood on and walking away, Lucrezia watched her leave before running off to her village.
"Mom! Dad! I got it!" She yelled once she walked into the house. An older woman and a man ran into the room and grasped onto the vial, disappearing back into a room on the right.
"Lucrezia, how did you get this? We couldn't even get it from them." Her father gasped out, hugging his oldest. Lucrezia remembered what Zephyr warned her and quickly made up a quick lie.
"I told him that if he didn't give us the antidote that the Gods will punish him for his greediness."
"That's my girl!" He exclaimed, hugging her tightly before he followed his wife.
That night, Lucrezia stared at the ceiling as she rethought what Zephyr told her that day, especially about the Gods being pleased. She eventually shrugged it off and fell asleep.
The next week, Lucrezia walked out where she met Zephyr, seeing the woman and 2 others standing in the sun. As she went closer, she noticed that the 2 other people were girls who looked the same age as her. One of them had pale skin, lavender and white hair and teal eyes. The other one had dirty blonde hair, tan, and bright green eyes. "Hello Lucrezia, I've been waiting." Zephyr said as she approached the three. "If you're wondering, this two are magical girls also. Sucks that Isolde couldn't come."
"Oh..." Lucrezia muttered to herself silently, still looking at the group.
"In case if you were wondering, these are magical girls and they're on your side." Zephyr explained, looking at the 2 girls to their left. "The one with dark blonde hair is Caledonia and the one with the lavender and white hair is Xyliana."
"Okay." Lucrezia waved at Caledonia and Xyliana.
"They're going to teach you how to fight, they've been doing this for a while." Zephyr explained once again, moving her navy hair off of her shoulder. "So they won't kill you in anyway, they'll only protect you." Xyliana nodded and gave a sweet smile towards Lucrezia. Lucrezia smiled and waved to the duo, pretty relieved to have people on her side. Zephyr stretched and sighed, starting to walk off. "Now lookie, I'm not going to go all easy on you because you just now started. So go fight or something."
"What?"
"A deals a deal. I granted you a wish, now you have to pay me back." Zephyr stated, looking at the blonde. "You have to fight over people in order to repay me, or the gods."
"O-Okay."
"Now go! Make some friends!" She stated excitedly, pushing the 3 of them away.
"Sorry about Zephyr, she's always like that. It's best to ignore her when she does that." Xyliana said to Lucrezia, giving her a soft smile. Lucrezia nodded and walked with them, quietly. Caledonia turned around and smiled, walking backwards as they walked to their destination. "Do you need us to explain it better to you because Zephyr didn't help?" She suggested.
"Yes, that'll be nice."
"Alright, so since you made a deal with Zephyr, you have to be a magical girl to pay her back. So, in order to repay the 'debt', you have to fight other magical girls. There's 2 sides, light and dark, and I can't really go into much because Zephyr didn't make any sense." Caledonia explained with a soft sigh. "But the only really important part is that you're with us, and we're pretty strong, so we'll protect you. We're also with a few other friends and were on the light side."
"What about Zephyr? Is she with us?" Lucrezia asked.
"She didn't say, all she said was that she was like a referee." Xyliana replied, stopping a bit.
"Oh..."
"But she's mostly with us, so I guess you could say that..." Xyliana replied with a smile. "She likes to give us small tips and stuff."
"So we're nearly positive that she's on our side, don't tell her though." Caledonia added, putting a slender finger to her light pink lips. They small group walked until a small dagger quickly passed them, making a small mark on Caledonia's left cheek. She smiled and wiped off any blood that came out. "Looks like we have a visitor." She announced looking up a bit.
At the end of the large area, a girl with pitch black hair stood at the end with a small supply of daggers. Caledonia's lips grew a large smile and the 2 sisters transformed, a large weapon in their hands.
"Just stay back for now, we don't want you to get hurt. Join in if you want to. " Xyliana said with a smile before running off.
