There's no difference between day or night, I have to work through night and Meet the potential investors the rest of the time.

I was working on one of the new proposals when Raghav Sir entered the room, Looking pleased.

"We got him" He said. "Karthik, He is to be dispatched away on a mission" He said. "We made sure that he will never come back" He nodded.

My heart dropped at the news.

Even though we anticipated it, It felt too sudden.

"That's one person less to worry" I said. "I hope the rest of them will be trapped soon" I added.

I need to contact Officer Ajith somehow and tell him the news..

"We were able to get him because of you, You exposed him on the correct time" Raghav sir said. "Good work, Arjun" He said.

If I didn't expose him then, Pramod would've exposed him anyway.

"It's my job" I shrugged. "But what about Abiram and Mahesh? Any news on them?"

"No" Raghav sir shook his head. "It's making your father worried, Mahesh is injured severely and We cannot track him down in any hospitals" He said.

"I am sure that they would have planned everything beforehand, Mahesh would have prepared a doctor too"

"I know" Raghav sir said. "What a stupid thing to do, It's like stabbing Narayan sir behind the back, If it was not for Abiram or Mahesh, Surya group would not have been in this crisis" He said. "He didn't even meet Narayan sir or discuss about this" He added.

"He's sure that Father won't approve of his plan, He put his life on the line, That means he has already found a way out of India" I said.

It would've been easier for him to escape from jail with Father's help, Even though the commissioner and most of the officers are suspended now, Father can bring out someone if he really wants to, I know that, But Mahesh was sure that father won't help him by soiling Surya group's reputation, That's why he went to this extent.

It also means that escaping out of India is not his only agenda, He has something else in mind.

I ran around the camp, A heavy fire arm raised above my head.

I said while I reached the kilometre mark. My legs felt like it will fall off me. My team members were watching me, looking pained.

3 more kilometres to go..

"Sir, Let us call Jacob sir" One of them jogged with me.

"No" I said as sternly as I could say. I was drained of all energy and sweating. "I..deserve this, A STO is not..supposed to..lose his firearm" I added. "I won't..go easy on you..if you did this..mistake" I took in another breath and Started to push myself forward.

My real gun is still safe with Arjun, But since Surya group took it away from me, I can't submit it back.

"98" I said while starting with another round.

My lungs were out of oxygen and my heart was bursting with exertion, But I pushed myself forward.

It was not easy to run a 100 kilometres in full combat gear that weighs more than 30 kilos.

My hands were shivering too much from the weight of the heavy weapon that I was carrying above my head as I was running.

It was almost dusk when I finally Started my last round.

When I opened my eyes, So many eyes were watching me.

"You alright sir?"

"He's back"

I slowly registered the six junior members under me.

I got up.

"What are you doing!?"

"You passed out at the finishing point" One guy said. "But sir, you still completed the punishment, 100 Kilometres in 10 hours in your full combat gear and set a record!"

"Who's Aditi!?"

I snapped up that.

"Uh..Sir, You said You are Sorry" The guy said. "This is the first time we are hearing that word from you, You said 'I am sorry Aditi' just before you passed out"

"I didn't pass out, I was sleeping for a while" I gave him a serious look.

"Yes sir!" He said loudly.

"But why did it look like the director was targeting you on purpose sir?"

"Who said that?" I said sternly while all of them looked at each other.

"10 laps, No dinner before that" I ordered. "You know better than to talk like that, You are a STO"

So after sending them off, I got out of my bed.

"Karthik?"

I heard Jacob sir and immediately greeted him with the salute.

"Sir" I said.

"Did you finish the paper works? I heard a disciplinary Committee will investigate about this incident" Jacob sir said. "Missing a firearm is a serious thing"

"I know, I will start with the paper works" I said. "I don't think they will suspend me or dismiss me as they didn't withdraw the order to dispatch me" I nodded to the side, Showing him my packed bag.

"Karthik, I know this is not fair, You should ask them to change the-"

"I know that nothing is going to change" I said. "They called me back to sent me away for good, Whatever I do, I know they are not going to retract the order" I said.

"Sir"

One of the guys opened the door. "The DIB is here! He wants Officer Karthik and Officer Jacob in his office" He said.

Director of intelligence beuro is here! What does he want!?

Jacob sir and I walked to the office.

After formally greeting each other, All of us were seated while he turned to me.

"I heard you are ACP Suresh Kumar's Son?" He asked me and I looked up in Surprise.

"Yes Sir"

"Then are you aware that He invited me over to his place just before He was attacked?"

I stared at him, Not knowing what to answer.

I don't know if I should trust him or not.

"You don't have to answer if it's difficult, I am here to assign you a new mission" He said and turned on the screen.

I was shocked when I saw officer Ajith Roy on the screen.

"Officer Ajith!" Jacob sir exclaimed, Apparently shocked to see him Alive. "But-"

"Sir-" Both of us stopped midway as he raised his hand on the screen, Asking us to stop.

I stopped my salute midway and took my seat.

I am having a difficult time accepting what's infront of me.

The strong, fit and unbeatable officer Ajith Roy was in the wheelchair.

"I don't have time" Ajith sir said. "I am bedridden and one side of me is paralysed below my neck after that accident" He said. "There's spies inside the organisation"

DIB turned to us.

"You heard him, I suppose you already know about it?"

Jacob sir and I nodded.

"Then there is no need to explain too much, This is your next mission, We need to find out and extract the weeds out of the organisation" He said. "Officer Ajith roy has already informed me about the people who are here as spies, Your duty is to find the evidence" He looked at us. "I will give you permission to use the 'Shoot to kill' tactic without any warning shot if situation is dire, But you should have proper evidence first" He said.

I am shocked now.

Shoot to kill? Without prior warning shot!?

The current situation in the STO look dangerous for him to issue this order to us.

"I have already prepared the list of traitors, But We cannot touch them unless we have evidence" He said. "So your mission is to find the evidence and get rid of them" He said.

"I accept sir" I said. While Jacob sir did the same.

"You are the only people who are aware of this now, It's a secret operation" He said again.

We nodded.

"But sir, I am to be dispatched to-"

"I will take your badges back and suspend you temporarily from all your missions" DIB said. "You will stay here and Assist other officers" He said.

I nodded slowly, Now understanding what he's trying to do.

Suspending and cancelling my mission will stop them from sending me away, At the same time, I can work on my new mission.

It also means that they are going to enslave me.

"Assist them, But remember, This is your mission, 'Operation Sweep' "
He said. "It means exactly that, Clean the organisation before it's too late"

The car moved forward and I leaned back to the seat.

I stopped and looked out of the window.

Instead of taking the normal route to the house, The car turned to the right.

"What are you doing!?" I exclaimed and looked at the driver only to realise that it was one of Abiram's trusted man.

"You! How dare you!"

"I am really sorry sir" He looked worried. "But Abiram sir wanted me to bring you there, I am only following his order" He said.

Anger exploded inside me.

Not only had him put surya group in trouble, He even helped Mahesh to escape, Making everything worse.

Instead of begging forgiveness from me, He's pulling another stunt now.

I took a deep breath to calm myself.

"Okay" I said. "I have something to tell him too" I added.

The car moved through dark narrow alleys and took various twist and turns.

The car finally stopped and Someone opened the door.

Abiram entered the car and the car moved forward again.

"What do you want?" I asked him as calmly I could. "If it's about your warrant, You know that I cannot help you" I said. "The evidence is too strong-"

"Give me a chance Father" He said. "I am desperate now, I just want you to listen to me calmly" He added.

"What is it?" I said.

"You are being cheated by Arjun!" He exclaimed. "Arjun doesn't have Surya group's best interest, He's taking revenge on us!"

I sighed.

Not this again!

From the moment Arjun appeared, They always accused him of one thing or the other.

"Do you have evidence?" I asked him. "What made you think that Arjun is doing something?" I asked. "I see him 24/7 in the Surya headquarters working tirelessly to clear the mess you created"

"Every cases that has gone wrong was dealt with him! Think about that-"

"He is Surya group's strategic manager! He's a lawyer who is dealing with everything, Of course he will be involved in most of the cases" I said. "Besides, The cases he helped settle was more than the cases that went wrong, You and Mahesh got trapped by yourselves, You know that"

"Arjun is just like that! He is upto something, If we don't stop him now, It will be too late"

"Can you hear yourself Abiram? Tell me just something he has messed up, Tell me something..Anything that he did" I said.

There was silence for a moment.

"He never did anything wrong, Is it humanly possible!?" he asked back after a second. "He never ever did anything wrong"

"Arjun is like that, He's been working like a robot, He never did any mistake because he never thought with his emotions" I said slowly.

"Exactly, He's not someone stupid, He is someone who will never do anything against his will, Even you cannot ask him to do anything that he don't want"

"What are you getting at?"

"Then why did he come back? I am sure that he came back for a reason! There's something wrong with him!" He said. "On the day we prepared a trap for Reporter Trishana and ACP Suresh Kumar, Arjun's Cars were met with accident" He said. "That same night, Two of his cars were in an accident together, That was the same day Trishana disappeared from the Ice factory and Karan went missing for a few days"

I stared at him.

"I don't understand" I said.

"We already found the patrolling officer" I said slowly. "Just before Trishana was taken by Thomas Mathew that night, She was running away from someone, She told the officer that she was being followed by someone" He said. "When the officer went to check, The car disappeared" He said.

"What's it got anything to do with Arjun?" I asked. "If someone was chasing Trishana that night, Why do you think Arjun has anything to do with it?" I asked.

"I wanted to know what happened and checked the CCTV on the highway, But Do you know that the CCTV were malfunctioning that day...Can you believe that?"

"So you're telling me that Arjun did it?"

"I don't know yet, I have told them to try and recover the footages" Abiram said. "But you cannot say that all of these are coincidences" He said. "To be truthful, I don't know anyone else who would do something like this, I have worked with him before, You know how he clean up after things, If he was involved in this, He will clean it up nicely too"

"What are you getting at?" I asked him back. "Are you saying that all these are connected to Arjun? If you are, Tell me what your theory is" I said. "You know how Arjun is, I admit that Arjun is secretive and reserved, But you cannot say something absurd like th-"

"Arjun is cunning and a manipulative rascal, I cannot prove it, But I have experienced it from him, He is someone who uses others to do his dirty deals, He always finds ways to get himself out if trouble!"

"For example?" I turned back slightly. "Tell me an example"

"Father, You know how his brain works at the time of crisis, Do you really think that he will leave something for doubt?" He said. "Even Mahesh Agrees with me" He said.

"Will you stop this nonsense, Abiram!?" I am fed up with him now. "Turn yourself in and take the punishment, I will try to help you-"

"You never helped Mahesh when he was jailed! Even now, You are not even asking how he is! you know he is injured-"

"Why should I worry when I know that all of these was arranged by both of you, when he was in jail, He refused my visits, What can I do about that?"

"You could've helped him to get out easily like the others"

"I didn't help anyone to escape jail, Abiram, I was just using them from time to time, Nobody knows about that, If Mahesh suddenly disappeared, I knew that it will blow up big like now!" Anger bubbled inside me. "If  you don't want to be on the run for the rest of your life, Hear me out and Surrender-"

"Even if I have to live abroad the rest of my life, I will not surrender" He declared.

"You are seriously soiling the reputation of Surya group by being a wanted criminal"

"Okay" He said suddenly. "Okay, I will listen to you, I will surrender" He said.

I listened. I am sure that there's a catch.

"But Test him before giving him the power" He said. "I heard that the coming Shareholders meeting is also a installation ceremony of the new CEO"

Now I know why he went to this extent, He heard about the news.

"If I test him and everything goes fine, You will surrender by yourself?" I asked. "Can I have this deal?"

"Okay" He said slowly.

"Then let me tell you, If you try to double cross me, I will disown you, You need to keep your end of the bargain"

"Then I will tell you the way to test him, do it exactly like I want you to" he said and I nodded.

"Okay" I said. "Tell Mahesh too" I added.

"Oh..there's another interesting thing" Abiram said and I turned to him.

"The heirs of Dhyani hospital groups are still alive" He said.

"What!?"

"Rikesh and Ritika Dhyani are the remaining people in Trishana's gang, Aditya and Aditi" He said. "Even though the Surya hospital groups are in our control now, If their identity is revealed, They will be the real owners, We will become the laughing stock who ran the hospitals for them all these time" He added.

"How did you...Dhyani family was completely wiped out!"

"Apparently the person who died that night was Dr.Prakash's son, and he saved the girl too, They were living under fake identity all these time"

"What!? Dr.Prakash-"

He nodded.

"That's right, He's the attending physician of ACP Suresh Kumar now, He was the Doctor in charge for Priyanka too" He added. "And the Doctor in charge for Shahid khan when he was shot and Varsha who was nearly drowned was his son, Dr. Aditya" He said.

"Then...Then..The doctor who was suspended that time because his patients were missing was..."

"Yes, Rikesh Dhyani or Dr. Aditya" He stopped. "You know what, I find it strange that the brilliant Strategic manager of Surya group didn't realise it" He sneered. "Arjun was able to give us the details of STOs but he was unaware of this situation!? I can't believe it" He said. It's indeed strange that Arjun is unable to make a connection when he was following reporter Trishana and her gang for a long time.

"How can he benefit from this?"

"But he did give details of STO Ajith and Karthik, He did so many things against Trishana and her gang" I whispered.

"I don't think Arjun has any connection with them" I said firmly.

"Then install him as a CEO and bear the consequences" he said.

"I will test him, Abiram" I said. "And this is the last time I will ever suspect him, If he succeed, I will give him the control of Surya group and acknowledge him as my son, If he fails, He will disappear from this world"

"If he fails, you have to help us escape from here, You will have to support us too" Abiram added.

Aditya.

It's been two days since Karthik left, Everyone is still hung up on that.

Aditi is back to normal and looks like she's no more concerned.

Trisha is working with Truth magazine and helping Nitin.

I know that she's tensed about absence of Arjun too. It's been already a few days since he left.

Shyam and Anjali often come and updated on small matters, But there's nothing changing, So everyone is waiting for the Major shareholders meeting for everything to end.

The major shareholders meeting is only five days away and I am waiting patiently for my chance.

We are planning to expose everything during this meeting as we have already announced to the media that this time, The Shareholders meeting will be held publicly, To make sure there is no foul play and to recover the damaged reputation of Surya group.

Shahid will send the decrypted files and I will expose everything too.

I hope I can return back to my real life after this.

I am exhausted and tired too. Now that I have someone waiting for me, I want nothing more than to return back and have a peaceful life.

Karan opened the door.

"Your father asked me to call you" He said. "He said he has something important to discuss with you" He added.

"Okay" I nodded.

I walked to his room.

Raghav sir was already waiting inside when I reached.

"Come in, Arjun" Father nodded as he saw me.

I walked inside and took the chair in front of him.

"Abiram contacted me" Father said.

Both Raghav sir and I looked up.

"What!? Where's he?" I asked.

He shook his head.

"I don't know" He said. "But I got something important" He passed us some papers and I took it.

I read the details on a company from London.

"They are our new investors who are interested in us" He said and I stilled.

Interested in investing?

In the troubled Surya group when the shares have completely gone down and the Shareholders are making a ruckus?

The other investors are my people, No one knows it yet, But There's no way any sane person will invest in Surya group now...unless they have seen something.

"Is there any catch?" I asked. "You know it too, No one will be willing to invest in us" I said.

Father nodded.

"There's some issue with the company, They are in need of us, So it's a win win situation for us, If everything get resolved, We can accept help from them than the current investors we found, This way, We don't have to share the management rights" he stopped.

"Abiram found you this company?" Raghav sir asked and Father nodded.

"Even though he is refusing to surrender before police, He said he wants to help Surya group" Father added.

Abiram is not very generous person, It's hard for me to believe that He thought of helping Surya group while he is on the run.

On the other hand, I know that Father is really angry with him and Mahesh, So he will not listen to him unless it's genuine.

"People know that we are in trouble" Raghav sir said. "I hope we won't get scammed by anyone, Everyone will try to get whatever they can from us" He added.

I nodded.

"That's right, We too did such things to sinking business owners" I said. "We took their new designs from Latest when they were facing trouble" I reminded them.

"Yea, The CEO agreed because they were in need of investment" Raghav sir added.

Varsha's Dad had no choice but give up on his new launch then, It was before he understood the betrayal from Surya group.

"I know" He said. "That's why I decided to send both of you to deal with this" He said.

I stared at him.

"You want us to deal with this? What about the Shareholders meeting?"

"You just need to meet with them and You can return within a few days, The shareholders meeting is a week away"

"When are we supposed to leave?" I asked.

"Tonight" He said and I was surprised yet again.

"Tonight!?" Raghav sir asked.

"Yes, The sooner the better, As you said, Both of you will have to take care of the Shareholders meeting when you come back" Father said.

I nodded my head 'yes'

"That's right, If we have to leave, We better go there as soon as possible" I said. "I will tell Karan to prepa-"

"I want someone to assist me in the meantime, Let Karan Stay with me" He said.

I raised my eyebrows in surprise.

I can no longer act ignorant.

"You want me to go on a business trip without my PA?"

"Oh..Abiram said that he will send one of his men to assist you both"

"Why do we have to take Abiram's man!?" Raghav sir said.

"Abiram is sending him to help you since It's his investors whom you are going to meet" Father said. "You don't have to take Karan with you too"

Father has already decided this.

He is testing me, I can see that, I am not stupid not to know it, Besides, It's obvious since he met Abiram already.

Raghav sir still looked confused, Ignorant of what's going on.

That evening Karan drive all of us to the airport.

From the moment Father announced the trip to London, We never had any chance to talk privately.

I could see that He's tensed and worried.

When we reached the airport and when the other guy was helping Raghav sir with luggage, I turned to Karan.

"Karan, I hope you will remember everything I told you"

"But sir! We don't have any specific plan!"

"The only plan is to act normal, Do not contact the gang, Shyam already knows that I am going out, He will inform them, Don't ever leave your cover, You are not my spy, You are a member of Surya group until the end"

"But sir, What if-"

"Even if something big happened, Don't leave your cover" I said, Now walking with him as Raghav sir and Abiram's man stared to followed us.

Karan walked back and I walked to the other two.

I need to be alert and win this game.

Sanju's face flashed through me.

"Arjun, Don't ever forget that I am waiting for you here, Don't ever put yourself in danger"

She had made me promise that.

Sanju, I am planning to keep that promise.

"Your vitals are normal, you just have to take rest a few more days" My Doctor told me.

Ha rest! I cannot afford to do that now, I have things to take care of before I leave India.

"Where's Dr.Prakash?" I looked at Abiram.

It was Dr.Prakash who did the surgery for me with the medical team I provided.

"He is locked up in the headquarters" He said. "We are using him to get his kids" He said. "I already sent his request for leave to the hospital, Stating about a family emergency, It looks like the gang don't know about it yet"

I nodded.

"Keep him alive" I said. "What about your visit to Father?"

"He is still not convinced, But he agreed to test Arjun" Abiram said.

I nodded.

Everything is going according to the plan now.

"I am not very sure about this" Abiram said slowly. "What if Arjun doesn't have any role in this, What if he is not involved with Trishana and her gang?"

"We managed to recover one of the deleted CCTV footage already, Trishana was driving Arjun's car that night and he was chasing her"

"But that means he was trying to capture her"

"Yes, Why should he try to capture her before she was going to be trapped?"

"He must've been trying to get the credit for getting her"

"Arjun is not you, Abiram, He don't care a damn about getting credits, You know that too, He will not move without a proper plan"

"Then why do you think that he was following her that day?"

"I don't know" I said. "It's difficult for me to imagine too, especially when she was using one of his car" I said. "May be he was using her to get revenge on Surya group, If we had eliminated her in that meeting with DIB, Surya group would have benefited greatly"

"You still think he's here to get revenge for his Mother's death?"

"I cannot find another explanation...unless..." I dragged off.

"What's is it?" Abiram asked again.

"I am bothered about that girlfriend of his, Are you sure that she's not involved in any of these things?" I asked him.

"I told you, I found it odd too, I already ran the details on her, She's Sanjana Saxena, The heiress of Alpha group, Her family is settled abroad, She already went back to her place a few weeks back, There's nothing suspicious about her"

"It sounds logical, But Arjun really looked like he was concerned about her" Abiram said. "He even admitted it"

"He is calculative and cunning" I said. "You cannot trust what you see, He will fool us"

"We don't have to wait for a long time now, Father already sent him abroad, We will start with our plan, Now that everything is going well, We don't have to postpone this anymore"

I nodded.

"Use your head this time, Abiram, If you use your short temper now, You will ruin both of us for life" I said. "But first, We need father's support to continue with our plan"

"I will call him then" I nodded and Mahesh waited as I dialled him.

"Hello?"

"It's me" I said. "We set everything ready" I said.

"I saw the CCTV footage" Father said grimly . "Arjun tried to capture Trishana" He said. "I want to know what's going on" He said.

It took me a second to realise that father is actually approving this plan. For the first time, He looks convinced.

"Father"

"I sent Arjun away like I promised" He said. "Within these days, You should prove to me that you are right" He said.

"Yes, We already got their number from Dr.Prakash's call log" I said. "Now we are going to call them and blackmail them with his life-"

"No" Father said slowly. "That will not do, if you want to get them, The only way is to capture them together" he said. "At the same time, We should know if Arjun is really involved with them and How deep he is involved, That's the only way to end this" He said.

What the heck!

"But that's impossible, How can we do that in this short time?" I said.

"That's possibile" He said. "Just follow my plan" He said and Mahesh and I looked at each other.

Mahesh nodded slowly.

"Okay, What is it?" I asked. "Tell us what we should do"

"What are you doing!?" I stopped Vijay on the doorway. "Boss is not here, You cannot go inside" I said.

He pushed me to a side and took out a Master key and I was shocked to see them opening Arjun Sir's private cabin.

"I cannot let you inside" I blocked them again.

"Karan" I heard the voice and looked up to see Narayan sir standing there.

"Sir" I said quickly.

"Let him do his work" He said. "It's my orders" He said.

My eyes widened.

What the heck is going in!?

Things looked serious this time.

"But...Arjun sir is-"

"Arjun is going to be installed as the CEO, I don't want anything to go wrong when that happens" He said firmly.

I stared at him.

I really want to protest, But I know better.

"Karan, Don't ever leave your cover, You are not my spy, You are a member of Surya group until the end"

I nodded.

"Okay sir"

"Then cooperate with them" He said and two guys came inside.

I nodded again.

They took me outside the room and we started walking.

"Hand us your mobile" One of them ordered and I did so.
