I sat there silently as Abiram went crazy.

"I asked you to check it thoroughly!" he shouted at prathab, who had accompanied him to deal with Shahid.

"When I checked, It was there sir" he said "I don't know what happened all of a sudden" he said.

"Did you kill shahid?" Father asked and everyone became silent.

"He got shot in the chest, His rate of survival is too low" Abiram said after a moment.

"Why did you kill him? I asked you to get him here" Father said again.

"I swear! I made sure that we had all the datas we needed before trying to kill him! I personally checked it!" Pramod spoke up again "it was all there"

"Then what happened to it?" Mahesh looked around "how come there's no file in here?" he looked angry. "After going through all these trouble, If we can't get hold of the files, It's no good"he said "Shahid is the only person who could open the files and you shot him" he stopped.

"Do you really not understand what's going on?" I spoke up, fed up with the argument that's going on.

Everyone turned to me.

"I warned you before you moved, that's shahid, The programming genius" I explained "I think he created a self erasing programming file to show you" I said.

"That bastard! He wanted to save his wife, so he gave us the datas and he programmed it so that we were never going to get our hands on that!" Abiram cursed "I am going to kill him the moment he wakes up"

"Abiram" Father said sternly. "You created this mess, If Shahid ever wakes up, I want to bring him here" he said sternly "without any scratch" he added.

"I don't think he will speak up easily" prathab said "his wife was murdered in front of him" he said.

"Get hold of his daughter" Father said and I suppressed my anger.

"He has a daughter?" Mahesh asked.

"That's right! he has a 5 year old daughter and he will never open his mouth against us" Abiram said gleefully.

I raised up before I speak something that will put me in disadvantage.

"The conference is not over yet" Abiram notified me.

"My work is done here" I said.

"Can you recover the erased files back?" Father asked me.

"I thought about that" I told him "but Shahid is famous in programming field, it's his speciality" I said "I don't think it will be easier, but I will try" I nodded and took the hard disk "it may take some time"

Karthik.

I listened to the news intently.

"-Still under coma and his wife's body was found after 3 hours of search in the water"

What the heck! Every channel has the same story.

The famous programmer and his wife's attacked by some anonymous people, Shahid khan is seriously injured and hospitalised while his wife is already dead.

I changed the channels as dad came inside.

"Are you looking for something?" he asked me "You have been changing channels for some time now" He said.

"I am wondering why there is no mention of him being the security officer of Ajith roy files, it's impossible that media didn't get hold of it"

"Then they must have been silenced-" I stopped as the reporter started to describe the case.

"-There was an abandoned car on the bridge and it is assumed to be the car of the chief security officer, Shahid khan, whom went missing two days back" she stopped "It's been confirmed that Shahid khan was the chief security officer of Ajith roy sir who Died in the car accident three months back" She said.

"Wow!finally,Someone have noticed about it" I mocked as dad looked at the screen in serious expression.

"This channel is going to get hit next" he said.

"What?" I looked at the screen "Truth tv?"

"And that reporter, she's asking for it" he said again "Why do you think all other channels ignored it? They don't want to get on the bad side of surya corporation"

"Then she is quite brave" I looked at the reporter on the screen.

"And stupid" dad added.

The news changed and an old factory appeared behind the reporter.

"This is the old ice factory in the outskirts of town which supplies almost the whole city but we have recently got reports on ...." she started to explain about the illegal activities that were reported by people.

"You are right, she's stupid, why did she make a report on surya ice factory?"

"Obviously, she's asking to get murdered by their group"

"I think her reports are mostly targeting surya group" I said thoughtfully "it's almost like she's challenging them"

"She can't win" dad said and I nodded "I wonder how longer she will last" Dad added.

Trishana.

"I told you not to mention that case!" PD looked angrily at me.

"It's not a fake news, someone has to report the truth" I walked out with the camera.

"Do you want to shut down this station?" he got up and followed me "your dad wouldn't want-"

"Please uncle" I said sternly "My dad would need the truth to be out there" I said "He wouldn't want the truth to be hidden"

"We can't provoke surya group"

"I am not provoking them, I am just doing my work" I said and nitin came with the car.

"I am going to meet maya's family, They agreed to give me an interv-"

"No need, Your documentary is not going to be aired, Everyone rejected it at the meeting"

"What!?" That got me angry, like really really angry.

"Everyone think surya group will target our channel next, we can't allow that!"

"So you want to cover up about mahesh's womanising!? We have already five victims! no-that's six if we include varsha-"

"It's not been confirmed, Everyone think she fell to the pool-"

"But I'm sure! I need to-"

"Do you not understand what i'm saying, trishana?" he looked me in the eye seriously "It doesn't matter how many victims you have, All that matters is we need to protect our company"

"That's covering up the truth"I exclaimed "do you know how much trouble I had to go through for this? I spent nearly eight years, following them and trying to expose them, This documentary is as good as a death sentence to mahesh surya narayan!"

"Listen to me carefully now, trishana" He looked at me "They wanted to suspend you from your post for going live about that ice factory! You are asked to attend the disciplinary meeting this week and I have no power to stop it" he warned me and walked outside.

I was furious.

How dare they try to sack me from my own company! It's true that dad is no longer here, But they can't manipulate the TV station like this!

Our channel is becoming worse day by day, just like the other channels out there.

So much for naming it "the truth".

"Trisha, I think you should be careful" Nitin said "They are trying to get a chance to fire you"

"As long as I am one of the major shareholders, They can't do it" I gritted my teeth. "And the truth magazine is totally in my control, They can't control me there"

I opened the car door and got in.

I glared at the doctor in front of me while he checked my scanning reports.

We were in his OP room.

"You are recovering fast" He commented "Thankfully it was a hairline fracture only, Nothing to worry about as long as you take good care of yourself" He added, Showing me the X ray of the ribs.

He was the same person who stopped me from getting to the rooftop and who ordered the security people to keep watch 24/7, like I am jailed.

It's been a fortnight since that incident, I have tried everything in my power to escape, But in vain, He is finally here to talk to me since I have calmed down now.

I looked at him in the eye.

"Why did you do it?" I looked at him "did you think you were saving my life?" I spat venomously "did you think I will thank you for saving my life?"

He smiled gently, not even flinching back from my glare.

"This is the first time I am getting a response like this after saving a life" he smiled as he checked my vitals.

"Do you think I can't do it again?" I whispered "do you think you can keep me here forever?"

That dropped his smile right away.

"Ms.varsha, I Am a doctor and it's my duty to save my patient's life" he said firmly.

I looked at the nameplate.

"Dr.Aditya" I read "you must be really feeling great that you have saved someone, But have you ever had to go through something so horrible that you wish to end your life?" I scowled.

"you will never understand the pain of people like me who are going to suffer my whole life, All you will be knowing is to save the lives and feel like a god" I said. "But let me tell you, Doctor, because of you, I am going to be ruined, I can't do anything, I am nothing more than-"

"Twice, Varsha" he said slowly "I saved you twice" he said "when you were brought here, your heart stopped and everyone thought you were going to die" he said "And the time you wanted to take your life too" he said "I stopped you because for me, nothing values more than a person's life, the life you just scorned is more important to me than any other minor thing you just mentioned-"

"It's easy for you to say when you don't even know what I went through, if I don't want to live like this, I have every right to give it up-"

"If I were you, instead of thinking about taking my own life, I will be more concerned about the justice I need to get from the people who hurt me, I will find evidence and I will get back at them before thinking about destroying myself "he said

I stared at him.

I never thought like that before.

Mahesh surya narayan is basically a untouchable, he is the heir to one of India's biggest corporate company.

But still...before I take my own life, I need to kill him..

"That's...you are right" I looked up at him with newfound respect. "You are right doctor, I will get my revenge"

I am going to kill that bastard even if that means I have to give up my life.

"Don't get it wrong, what I mean is-" he stopped as someone opened the door forcefully.

"Doctor" the nurse said.

"I told you not to distu-"

"He's awake, Shahid khan is awake and he is insisting to see the police"

my doctor jumped up as another senior doctor entered the room.

"You can leave us" he ordered and the nurse hurried away.

Dr.Aditya turned to me next "you can go now, varsha, your personal caretaker is waiting outside" he nodded.

So I slowly walked out.

"Shahid is planning to lodge a complaint against surya narayan?" Dr.Adithya's sentence made me still on my way, they were inside the cabin and I was just outside the door.

I listened, alert.

Did I hear it right!?

"His wife's family took her body back and buried her but Shahid is denying it, He..He's not accepting her death" the senior doctor said and silence filled the room for a moment.

"This is bad" Dr.aditya said "I don't trust police, He will get into trouble if he lodge a complaint against surya group now, The only officer I trust is suresh kumar, let me contact him, he was the one who brought Shahid here"

"Careful,Adithya, one wrong move and he's going to be dead"

All of my doubts flew away that moment.

They Are talking about the same narayan.

And this guy, Shahid, he is in trouble.

I know it as I have experienced it first hand.

The police are going to support narayan, They will cover up if anything happens to shahid and media people will ignore it.

I don't care what type of person this Shahid is, I need to see him.

"They..they killed her..." I whispered "They..killed my wife..they shot her..and..they threw her..down" I pleaded. "If..if I don't give the details now, I don't know..I want to let the world know about their true colors, surya corporation-"

"Okay.." the senior doctor said and the young one looked up "uncle!" he exclaimed.

"I just got the message, Adithya, the police is already here" he said "let him talk, All we can do now is to protect him"

"But they are-" Dr.aditya looked angry now.

"We can't stop them when the patient insists to give his statement" he said.

Karthik.

"Dad,You have an urgent call, it's from the city hospital" I said as I put the call on hold.

He had forgotten to take his mobile phone from the study and I was still going over Ajith roy accident case fotos.

"What's it?" he opened the door and came out of the room on my fourth knock.

"City hospital, it seemed urgent" I repeated and he instantly become alert.

I passed the phone and walked back.

I stumbled down back to my chair and looked at the clock .

11:00 pm

"Karthik, I need to go now" dad came to the study "your mom is sleeping, take care of her"

"What is it dad? At this time?"

"At last..a victim is willing to open his mouth against surya corporation"

"Can't you wait till morning?"

"Narayan's puppets are already there, if I don't go there now, he will be in danger"

"Okay" I nodded "be careful then"

Varsha.

I waited outside the ICU, it's been a hour since the police officers went inside.

Two security guards were guarding the door and I couldn't go inside.

I moved behind the pillar as the door finally opened and two officers came out.

"Officer suresh kumar is on his way" one of them said "it will take at least an hour for him to reach here"

The second one sighed.

"It looks like we can't avoid it any longer, shahid even accused Abiram of killing his wife and about surya Corporation too, if his statement gets out, Narayan sir is going to kill the rest of us"

"Now that we know what he's going to say, our work is over here, inform boss about this and let's move out of the way, We don't want to get involved in anything that's going on here"

The two officers walked away and I was frozen in spot.

They are going to inform surya narayan about the victim and he's going to kill him?

I started to tremble as the memories of that night filled me.

I need to warn him!

I need to tell him that Narayan's people are coming after him!

What will I do!?

I prayed and waited there as the security men were talking.

I can't fight them anyway..

I tried to move my hand, but it was heavily bandaged.

I blinked back the tears.

I was startled as I saw the nurse and I became alert instantly.

"Who are you!?" I asked "you are not the nurse I have been assigned to" I said as I stretched my hand slowly to the alarm.

"I am not a nurse, I came here to warn you" She said.

"Warn me?" I asked as I finally reached the button.

"Don't press it!" she slapped my hand away as she looked serious.

"You are going to be in serious trouble if everyone come in here! Narayan's people are here at the hospital and they are going to hurt you" she said and I stilled.

"Who..who are you? What do you want!? Stay away from-"

"I am not here to kill you, you better get out of here before-" she stopped.

I too heard the clicking of the door and she looked panicked.

I stretched my hands again and this time she didn't stop me from pressing the alarm.

But only, Nothing happened, the alarm didn't go off and Both of us looked at each other.

They have deactivated the alarm?

"You..you have to escape" she whispered before shuffling away from me.

My heartbeat accelerated and I waited as the footsteps were coming near.
