"I want to file a case," I said to the police officer.

"Varsha, let's search for him once more, He will be in danger if we act recklessly," sam told me but I could wait no longer.

It's been a week since I heard from papa, I am sure he's in danger.

I looked at the officer in front of me.

"Can I talk to ACP Suresh Kumar?" I asked again.

I have heard from my papa that he's the only one reliable officer in this location, The only one who Surya group can't manipulate easily.

So half an hour later we were sitting in front of him.

"It's my papa, He's been missing for a week now," I told him "I lost contact with him for a week and it seems like he's in danger," I said.

"Your papa is the CEO of "Latest fashion world" and he is missing.." Officer leaned back to his chair. "I heard that the market crashed and the company is facing bankruptcy, What if-"

"No!" I said "He is not hiding, I suspect Surya group to be behind this, Our company was fine until they started to get involved in the management, They wanted to acquire our company and dad was not interested," I said.

"That's a serious accusation, Ms.Varsha Abraham, you can't talk like that unless you have the evidence"

"Once you find my papa, You will have all the evidence you want, Please find him for me" I pleaded. "I heard you are the only officer who could actually help me, please find him...he's in danger," I said.

"Okay, Then file an FIR today," He said and I nodded quickly. "I will submit the details and the last message he sent me," I said and he nodded.

Even though he offered me the police protection, we rejected it.

"She's staying with me in the meantime, You can contact me anytime," Sam said as he left his contact number there.

When we drive back, He took my hand firmly.

"Don't worry," He said "We will find him"

Karthik.

When I walked to his office room, Dad was deep in thought.

"Dad, I wanted to ask you something about...Dad?" I called him again when I knew that he hadn't registered that I was there.

It was the first time.

"What's the matter? You look..troubled" I said.

"Ah...Karthik" he straightened "I just got a case filed against Surya group, "He said and I raised my eyebrows.

"A missing case, CEO of latest, His daughter thinks he's taken by Surya group," I said.

"Even though the latest is one of the rising companies, They are having trouble now, The CEO must be trying to avoid the shareholders"

"He sent his daughter a message, Telling her to hide," Dad said.

"Then you can start the investigation now," I said.

"If I start now, I feel like the only chance to find her father will be gone, They will act faster"

"Then start the investigation secretly first, Once you gather enough evidence, you can come out," I said "But if it's the fight between the two companies, This case will get complicated, It's Surya group, I need you to be careful," I said.

He started to dial the number.

After a while, he put it down.

"Her phone is switched off," he said, looking doubtful. "It was ringing earlier but now it's switched off," He said.

"It could be a network problem.." I said, "Don't be too-"

"It could be.." Dad dragged off thoughtfully. "Let me go and check" He got up suddenly.

"Dad! Send one of your officers, It could be nothing"

"Call it a police officer's intuition, Karthik, I feel like something is wrong, She looked distressed when she came to the station, Her dad is missing, The last message sends to her phone was asking her to hide" Dad was already walking out and I followed him.

"Where are you going?" He turned to me.

"Since you are not taking any officers with you, Let me come, I Am free today" I shrugged.

"You can't get exposed Karthik, You are an STO, Let me call one of my team members," He said.

Adithya.

I hurried to the emergency room while the nurse beside me gave me the brief medical history of the patient.

"It's a 26-year-old female, Look like she was found in the pool-" she said.

"Sir!" my junior doctor ran to me, The patient went to cardiac arrest" he shouted, "I have been trying to revive her but.."  He stopped when the beep sound filled the room, Indicating a flat line and Everyone stepped away in defeat.

"We lost her" The nurse whispered while she stepped away with the Ambu bag in her hand.

"Move!"I ordered before placing my hand above my patient's heart.

"One..two..three.." I started the CPR.

"Sir..I..I think it's no use... she's dead-"

"Out of my way!" I bellowed before bending down to her mouth.

I removed the face mask and tilted her chin up and blew.

They were still around me,everyone watching as there was nothing more to do.

I continued for about a minute,The beep sound was the only thing I could hear and I felt defeated and beaten up.

Just As I was taking my hands back, the monitor registered her heart beat.

"We got her pulse!"

And just like that,Everything resumed.

So I moved back,exhausted and down while the nurses and my junior Doctor take over.

I looked at her pale face,The girl looked very young and tortured,Her forehead showed blue color,indicating hematoma.

My hands started to shiver and I moved inside before anyone else notices anything.

As soon as I was inside, I pulled out my pills swallowed before collapsing.

No...it's not possible...It's not PTSD..I am over that..

I was diagnosed with PTSD or post traumatic stress disorder after my family's death, It's been a long time since I have recovered from it.

This is the first time after so many years that I am showing similar symptoms And I practically live in the emergency room.

I can't believe my treatment was no use.

I am still not recovered from my past trauma?

But what's different about the girl that would drain me emotionally like this?

After about half an hour I walked out.

"I heard she's a vvip patient"

"Apparently the heiress of Latest fashion world"

"You mean,She's varsha Abraham!Oh my God! I Can't believe it! Is it really Varsha?"

"I don't know,The police hid her biodata, They only provided us with the medical history"

"It might be her! She is one of the famous designers! They just launched their designs outside India"

"No wonder she's moved to the special room"

"I don't know if it's a good thing or bad thing that she survived" I heard the talk and stopped in front of the nurse room.

"That's right,There is a lot of marks on her body, It looks like she was attacked"

My heart beat started to accelerate again.

"Her dress was torn, I heard she was a victim of attempted rape before she jumped to the pool and the police rescued her"

I had had enough already, I stepped to their room.

"Are you here to gossip?" I said sharply and looked around as the group of 3 nurses looked petrified to see me "If you go around speaking about patients like that,I will take strict action against you"I said.

"Sorry Doctor"

"We didn't mean anything-"

"As long as I am working in the Emergency department, You can't have this attitude towards the patients, How dare you say that you are not sure if it's a good thing she survived! Every life is invaluable,Don't forget that" I said again.

And all the three of them looked terrified as they started apologise again.

The anger was only getting more when I decided to leave.

I walked out.

I walked in search of uncle prakash.

Police don't want to leak this outside,That's why Dr.prakash took this case.

When I finally found him, He was with the patient, Who was still sleeping.

"Dad" I said and he jerked slightly, looking back to me.

We have discussed it beforehand,Since we don't want anyone to suspect our relationship,I have started to call him Dad or Dr.prakash inside the hospital.

"You are here" He said slowly "I heard that you revived her" he said

I looked at the girl.

She looked helpless and alone.

"I heard that her personal details are kept by the police?"I asked.

"Mm..since she's a victim of assault case,They don't want to-"

"I heard something,Is it true?"I asked again.

"If we don't strike first, They will eventually find out about us"I said "Ajith sir has all our details,But if the files end up in the wrong hands,They will know about us" I said.

Uncle nodded. "I know, But still I am worried" He said.

"We need to bring Aditya justice,Uncle"I said slowly "Or I will never forgive myself" I said "He died so wrongfully"

Uncle sighed, Then turned to the girl on the bed.

"She's the heiress of latest fashion world" he said "The officer who brought her here told me to keep her safe, She filed a FIR against Mahesh surya narayan just before she was attacked" He said.

Not many people know that mahesh is a womaniser.

I fisted my hands tightly.

"I heard she was...forced upon?"I asked uncle, Now noticing the swelling and cuts along her face and hands.

"They..They have tried to, But She resisted and most of the injury you see on her is from that" He said "including a broken rib" He added.

"When I reached the emergency room, Her heart was stopped and She nearly lost her life"I said.

He nodded.

"She's Actually extremely lucky to be alive, She fell in the pool while trying to run away and nearly drowned, She was rescued by the police officer who reached her the correct time"

"She was alone in the house?"I asked.

"They locked her boyfriend inside the room first, He got a few stitches, He's staying at another ward"He said.

I walked to the motionless girl, Supposedly a heiress of a now-sinking company, Who laid there,Fighting for her life,All alone.

"Do you think that she can..make it?"He asked me slowly.

"She survived the attack and she didn't drown" I said "Her heart started to beat after stopping" I said "of course she will wake up" I said,Sitting beside her bed.

"Officer suresh is worried about her security, Even though he said that his officers will come soon to guard her, he doesn't seem to trust anyone" uncle said.

"Leave her to me" I said "I will keep watch of her" I promised "I will make sure that she will wake up in no time" I added.

"It will only take five minutes, just five minutes" I pleaded with the officer at the door of her room.

Even though I had been trying to contact the latest fashion world's ceo for an interview, We couldn't get hold of him.

So it came as a shock to know about his only daughter's "accident case".

I don't know how much this varsha Abraham knows about surya firm, I need to warn her and I also want to know if she know about her papa's whereabouts.

"We need to think of a way to get in" I started to look around.

"Okay,  Let's be careful here" Nitin nodded. "I got goosebumps when I heard that the chief designer of the latest is in critical condition! Your predictions are accurate" Nitin shook his head.

I remember telling him that surya group's next targets will be Shahid khan or Latest CEO ;Abraham.

I am not very glad about being right though.

"Nitin, you need to do something now" I turned to him "Find shahid khan, I need to warn him before they get hold of him" I said.

The conference hall was a mess.

"What the hell! She is not dead!?" Mahesh looked angry "I saw it with my own eyes, She fell to the pool and she was motionless"

I controlled myself at that.

"I Am sending you abroad for some time" Father said "Your hearing was finished just now, If the girl wake up and give statement against you, There's nothing we can do"

"But...I can't, we can just take care of her somehow" he said "I heard she's not conscious yet, We can take care of her before she even open her eyes"

"And how do you suggest we do it?" I looked at him now. "Do you want the problem to get out of hand?" I looked at him angrily.

I had told the bloody fool not to get involved.

"What do you think we should do now?" Father turned to me.

"We can't get in there or kill her now, the police and the media are still there, It will be a big issue"

"But if she open her mouth, It will be even bigger" Abiram supported mahesh.

"Then tell me a flawless way to take care of this and I will help you" I told them.

"That's your duty ,Arjun, You are the strategic manager here"

"That's why I told you to stay put and not move a muscle! But you went after that girl and created a mess"

"I thought she's dead, Who would expect her be alive after that!"

"you disregarded my opinion and went there and now you expect me to find a solution!?"

"What's done is done, Arjun, is there any way that we could get out of this?" Father looked at me.

"There's two ways possible" I said.

"What's it?" Mahesh looked at me.

I wanted to punch him for making me clean after him.

I turned to father.

"One, if she ever open her mouth and talk, cut him off, tell everyone that Mahesh has nothing to do with our company, Apologise instead of him and show everyone how regretful you are to hear the news-"

"You bloody-" Mahesh started and father raised up his hand "what's the next one?"

"Everyone thinks it's an accident case, I doubt she will come forward and say anything else as her reputation will also be affected" I gave mahesh a dark look "So if varsha Abraham ever do that, We will wipe away all the evidences and medical records, We will deny the accusation and turn it against the girl itself, She could have planned it for the revenge for taking her dad's company"

"We will go with that" Father nodded "call all our people from the media to police station,we need to turn this case around before she wakes up" he ordered.

"I will take care of it" Abiram nodded.

"Then,i will leave" I got up from my seat "it's Sunday,the only day I told you not to call me for work"I stated before walking out.

I am really annoyed that they are doing this to me on my holiday.

I don't like it of anyone disturbs me on my free day.

They dragged a girl in the nurse uniform to the room.

"What's this?" I asked,looking at her.

"She's a reporter, She sneaked in to get an interview"

All of my control snapped that.

I raised out of my chair.

"You can go back" I ordered my assistants and they left her and went out of my cabin.

I leaned to my table in front of her.

"Varsha is battling for her life and all you have to think about is your damn interview?" I growled.

"It's important for me doctor" The girl said.

"So my patient's life is nothing to you compared to your exclusive? How dare you-"

"You don't understand,It's important that I get an interview from her"

"How can you do this to a victim! if you don't get out of here this moment, I Am going to sue you for -"

"Help me get an interview with her doctor, I really wants to help the girl, I Am doing this for her sake-"

"Security"I pressed the bell and they came in.

"Drag her out of here, see that she won't step inside the hospital ever again" I said.

"Wait!leave me! doctor, hear me out..let me go"she was shouting all the way back.

"You are going to regret this doctor, She's in danger"the girl shouted.

I turned back to my chair.

"It's suryanarayanan!" The girl shouted and I froze. "He is the chairman of surya corporation, He is going to turn this case around, mark my words doctor, If the world didn't know the truth now, They are never going to know, His people will come here for her-"

"Leave her" I ordered the security people and she hurried to me.

"Believe me, they will take her away if we don't do anything now"

"Well..trishana, She's my patient and I will take care of her, I won't allow some crazy people to take her away"

"You don't understand! her only way of survival is-"

"Then keep your word, doctor, if something happens to her, I will hold you responsible" she said and placed a card on the table.

"If she wake up and wants to talk, I will be glad to help her"

They threw me outside and I walked back, disappointed.

How am I going to meet varsha?

I need to warn her about surya group, She doesn't know how vicious they can be.

I moved closer to the room and listened to the nurses.

"I admire his courage though" The second one said. "He did not allow even the police officers to get inside and visit varsha, he didn't care about the rules and he's watching that patient 24/7"

"I bet he won't last here long" the first one said "I was actually thrilled when he joined here first,but never knew he was such a workaholic" she said.

"I feel like he's having some personal ties with that patient, Varsha, He was bearable until that girl was brought here" the nurse said.

I listened again.

Dr.aditya is protecting varsha fiercely?

Are they acquaintance?

Or Is he one of surya group's men?

But I was forced to move away as my phone started to ring.

"Nitin?"

"Trisha, Shahid is nowhere to be seen, His house is locked and he hasn't appeared in his office the last week" nitin said and I stilled.

"What does it mean?" he asked me.

"It means.."I said slowly "it means he's hiding or..or that he is already in danger" I stopped.

I hope it's the former of the two.

"What will we do now? If your guess is right, Shahid will be dead"

"Try to find him,Use all our means" I said.

"We have less manpower now" he said "but I will try my best" he added.

"we need someone here at the hospital too, I want to know who all are trying to visit Varsha, I want to know if narayanan's men are coming here too"

"But how can we know-"

"It's easy to recognise them, I have a file on most of their private goons, keep an eye out for them and keep watch of that doctor too, Dr.Aditya from emergency medicine"
