"We got them"

One of the officers said and Aditi and I looked at each other.

"They..they got caught?" Aditi asked and I gripped my camera bag.

Both of us were waiting among the crowd of people who were watching at the lobby.

Aditya was still masked, I recognised him from his built and varsha was just behind him.

Both of them were escorted out by four officers, two of them in the front and another two in the back.

The SI, who I know to be narayan's man turned to them.

"That's SI thomas mathew, He's narayan's puppet, This is not good" I told Aditi.

"What in the world are we going to do now? There is police all around, How can we save them?" She said.

"Wait, Let's see what they are going to do now" I said and we turned to them.

"You got them? Good" SI thomas mathew said, walking to the foot of the stairs as Aditya and varsha was there "what's the deal with the mask?" he stopped infront of Aditya.

"He's not allowing to touch it, sir, he was being difficult" one of the officers said and the SI turned to him.

"Let me see, Shahid, why are you so worried about showing your face when we all already know-" he stopped as Aditya stopped his hands midway, Stopping him from removing the mask.

"You can't take us" He said firmly "because varsha didnt kidnap me"

"We will talk about that from the station" SI said gruffly "Take the mask off him" he ordered as other officers started to do it while aditya fought back.

I was frozen in my place as I didn't know what to do.

The only thing I know is-Aditya is going to be narayan's next target if he reveals his face.

Aditi.

I don't know what to do anymore.

I can't let Aditya get caught, especially after all the years we have been hiding, we can't afford to get exposed now.

If nothing works, I am going to step in and cause a distraction.

I moved my hands inside the jacket as I watched Aditya still fighting with the officers.

I felt the gun and started to get it when someone's hand stopped over me.

"Wait" karthik whispered as I looked at him.

He too was watching Aditya and the officers "dont do anything rash, give me Shahid's remote"

"But it can control the elevator and lights only"

"Exactly, the lights" he murmured and I passed it to him, still confused.

Varsha.

I was still frozen as four or five people pushed aditya to his knees, The SI Walked to aditya and bend down to his level.

His hands outstretched to his face, trying to take the mask.

The residents and staffs of the building all had their mobile phones out and a few reporters were already in place.

Aditya should not reveal his identity because of me!

I looked around and noted the gun on the police officer who was keeping Aditya down. I pulled out the gun from his belt.

"Leave him" I ordered as I pointed it to the SI.

"Varsha! No!" Aditya sounded shocked, But I dont care anymore.

I don't want to drag him down with me.

"I will shoot if you dont let him go!" I shouted again as the officer took a step back.

"Okay, calm down" he said "let him go!" he ordered his people and everyone let go of Aditya.

"Varsha, Don't do it, give it back to me" Aditya turned to me and I shook my head firmly.

"Get out of here" I said firmly.

"But-"

"NOW!" I shouted.

"No! we are-"

He stopped when I put the gun to my head "Do you want me to kill myself first?" I asked him and everyone stilled.

"Varsha-"

"Three" I counted

"What the-"

"Two-" I stopped as the whole room engulfed in the dark.

In a moments confusion, I felt the gun being kicked away as someone pulled me with them.

"DONT LET THEM ESCAPE!" I Heard the shouting from the SI through all of the chaos.

"Run" I heard karthik's voice as he started to pull me away.

Someone else was already trying to stop me, And suddenly the darkness and the chaos made me panicked.

The night I was attacked by mahesh narayan filled my senses and I felt dizzy.

"Come on!" I heard karthik's voice, but I was becoming weaker and weaker, My body shut down as terror filled my heart.

"Varsha" I heard Aditya's voice, Trying to help me, But I was already too dizzy.

"Don't touch me" I whispered as the memories of what happened before flashed through my mind "Dont touch me!" I shouted as I fought the grip on my hand with everything I got.

Arjun.

"We got her" Abiram said proudly "Shahid escaped, But we got that girl, Varsha Abraham" he said "SI just called me, they are on the way to the police station now"

"But if Shahid confess that he was not kidnapped, all the charges against her will be cleared" he added

"But who's taking her to the station?" Mahesh said. "let me deal with her, She escaped from me the last time, But if we let her go again, That's dangerous to us" He said

"We are trying to acquire her dad's company, we will have to use her to blackmail her dad" I said.

"Exactly the reason why we need to keep her with us" Mahesh said "Leave it to me, I will take care of her"

"No" Father shook his head "You made a mess last time, let Arjun deal with this today" he said

"if you want me to find you anything or do any paperwork, I will do that, I cant get involved directly" I said.

"Yea, he doesn't want any blood on his hands, He is an expert to leave the dirty work to us" Abiram mocked.

I turned to him coldly.

"I am a lawyer, Not a private goon" I stated.

"You always dare to-"

"Enough" Father said,Then turned to me "mahesh is right, If varsha reached the police station and shahid comes there, We will have to let go of them" He said.

"But we could follow them easily then" I said

Father shook his head.

"As long as ACP suresh kumar is there, It will be difficult, We cant take any chance in this, Besides We dont know what varsha will say at the station, What if she talked about her accident?" Father said "The media is already waiting for her near the police station"

"We cant allow her to reach the station" Mahesh said "She escaped from me the last time, Give me a chance to set everything straight, I will take care of her this time" He said firmly.

"But people already know that she's arrested" Abiram said

"I have a plan" Mahesh said confidently.

Aditya.

Both Aditi and me were still waiting near the police station in our car.

After the incident at the skyline, Varsha had a panic attack and we couldn't help her escape.

So the rest of us splitted and started the plan B.

Shahid was still in uncle prakash's house.

Trishana and karthik is folowing the police jeep secretly while they are taking varsha to the police station.

Aditi and I reached at the police station directly to Wait for them.

This way, we wil make sure that varsha is not out of our sight.

"It's because me, I couldn't take her out" I said "I should have-"

"Shut up, Aditya, She fainted, you couldn't have helped her" Aditi said firmly "The only thing we need to concentrate is to help her out"

Aditi's phone started to ring.

"Shahid" Aditi attended the call "we are still waiting near the police station" she informed "No..no,Dont move out of your spot, if you are caught by narayan's men, it will be more complicated" Aditi talked to him for few minutes before disconnecting.

"Shahid is worried" she told me as soon as the call was disconnected.

"I know, but it will be more trouble if narayan's men know about his whereabouts"

"He is still at uncle's place now" Aditi informed me and I nodded.

I looked at the watch.

"It's half past 10 already, why are they not here yet?" I looked out and saw all the leading news reporters waiting outside the police station.

It was Trishana's idea to spread the news, So that even if varsha is jailed, Narayan's people won't dare touch her with all the public attention.

Someone knocked on the side and I opened the window.

"Nitin?" I asked as I recognised his face, He's Trishana's collegue and friend.

"We just got news from the police"he said "Varsha escaped on her way to the police station" he said.

"what!?" Aditi and I exclaimed.

"The police jeep was attacked and she was taken away, They even handed over the Cctv footage from your apartment, It shows two masked guys fighting the police to help her escape, Police think it's the same people who tried to rescue her from the apartment" nitin stopped.

"Bloody bastards! They are making up stories to take her away!" I started the car "call karthik and see the situation there"

"I can't contact trisha now, Inform her about this statement by police" Nitin said again.

"We will go there now, nitin, Stay here and report what's going on" I told him and he nodded.

As I entered the highway, Aditi turned to me.

"They just used us to do their dirty trick" she said "Everyone will think that the masked guys are her accomplice and that she escaped with them"

"I am more worried about where they are taking her, if she ends up with narayan's men, It will be very difficult to get her back" I said.

I tried to block out her cries that's ringing inside my head ever since I escaped from the skylines.

She fought with karthik and me and asked us to let go of her, She is traumatised by what mahesh had done and It look like she's afraid of the dark.

"There's no network coverage there, I can't contact Trisha or karthik" Aditi said, looking worried.

Karthik.

"They changed the way, police station is to the right side" I whispered.

Trishana and I was on my bike, following them in a safe distace without headlight.

"It's a deserted area" Trishana said "I have a bad feeling about this"

"But They cant do anything to her, We have already informed all the reporters about her arrest" I stated "they will have to bring her to the station safely" I added, hoping I am true.

"You will be surprised to know how they work, karthik, I have been following them for years that I have seen a lot of their dirty tricks" Trishana said.

"Wait..they stopped"

"They stopped in the middle of nowhere?" Trishana said "let's stop here too"

"There's another car" I said again, my heartbeat started to accelerate "they..they are going to hand over varsha to surya group?" I asked unbelievably.

Trishana took out her night camera that she has been using the whole time.

"I am going to record this" she said.

But I was too far away, my mind still refusing to accept the situation I am in.

The police officers, the police who are supposed to protect the people, Are handing over an innocent person to surya group.

If she end up in their hand, there's no other way back for varsha, they will kill her.

It's all your fault, karthik.

You cheated them..you informed her whereabouts to the police..

I closed my eyes tightly.

I will rescue her even if my life is depended on it...it doesn't matter what reasons I had to do it, its already done and now I need to take responsibility for what I did.

"They are transfering her" Trisha whispered "the bastards, they are taking her to-"

"Not if I can help it" I said murderously as I moved.

"Wait" she stopped me "you are going to ruin everything if you go there now" she said "you will not only endanger her, but also give our position away"

"Then should I just wait for them to take her away!?"

"No! we will follow them, we will see where they are taking her and we will wait for the right time to get her out"

"But she's all alone and scared" I said softly. "She must be terrified, She has already been gone through it once"

"That's why we need to be careful! we cant act impulsively!" Trishana said "I have been following them for a long time, karthik" she said "we need a plan to get her out, acting like this will never help us out"

Mahesh narayan.

"Good work" I said "keep guarding her, I will be there in 15 minutes" I walked out of my office.

I really want to see her face when she see me again.

She had escaped the last time, Even jumping to the pool to avoid me, But let's see what she will do now.

"Mahesh" I turned around to see Abiram walking to me. "If you are taking care of her, see it to the end" he said "let me know if you want my men" he said.

I scowled at that.

"I am perfectly capable of dealing with my problems, She's just a powerless girl that escaped from me, But it's nothing compared to shahid, whom you couldn't deal with" I said.

If he had killed him that day on that bridge, we wouldn't be struggling to find him like this.

"Then we would have lost the only person who could decode the case files" Abiram retorted "it's better this way, I will find his daughter soon, And when I does, I will trap him"

"It will not be easy"He said  "SI thomas said there was a gang at the cafe that day, Arjun also thinks that shahid is part of a gang now,It will be difficult to trap him"

I hate to admit it too, Arjun's guesses becomes right most of the times.

"Dont mention him" Abiram growled "The self centered son of a bitch who didnt even know his identity until father found him at the orph-"

"Watch your mouth" I said firmly "Even though he grew up with his mother, He is also a surya narayan and we have to bear with it as long as father is the chairman" I said.

Father will never approve it if we question his authority, So Arjun's matter is better left unsaid.

"When the time comes, I will kick him out of surya group" Abiram said "He's too full of himself"

"The more you stand against him, The more father will acknowledge him, I have learnt it over the years" I said.

"Do not lecture me like others" Abiram warned "Don't think you can rule me" He said.

I know it's a warning.

It's always been like this between us, Abiram doesnt like that I am the person in charge of our hotel and textile groups while he has control over all the other things.

It's more about getting the recognition from father than anything else, Because if I get the approval from father, that means that surya group is going to be mine.

"I have to go now" I said, looking at my watch "Varsha Abraham is waiting for me" I snickered.

Five minutes later, my driver started the car and I waited cheerfully.

I almost had her once, But this time, I will make sure that she cannot escape.

Varsha.

I opened my eyes slowly.

My whole body was aching and I couldn't even move.

Where's this?

I started to panic as I slowly took in my surroundings.

I tried to move, but I realised that I am bound to the chair, my hands and legs tied.

"She's awake" I heard a voice and looked around the room.

I cringed as I came face to face with four men, All staring at me like I am their prey.

"Let..let me go" I said, trying to be brave "This is not the police station, why did you take me here?"

They all laughed like hearing a joke.

"Let me go..untie me" I said again.

"She still have some spirit to fight with us" one of the guy abandoned his card game and got up "I never thought I could get my hands on a famous person" he stepped closer as my heartbeat increased "I heard you are a famous designer"

"Stay away from her, She's boss's girl, He is on his way" Another one said.

"We have pleanty of time" the guy said "it's such a waste if I dont even get a little taste" he was only feets from me and I started to struggle.

"Stay away from me" I said desperately, But the chair didn't even move from my effort.

"Dont be scared, I will take good care of-"

"DONT TOUCH ME..." I moved my head sideways and screamed as he outstretched his hands to me "I will kill you if you...touch me..stay away"

I tried hard to fight off all the images inside my head, trying hard to fight back and be brave, I cant break down now.

He touched my chin and raised up my head.

"Shh..dont cry" He wiped my streaming tears "you are-" he stopped as the sound of something breaking was heard just from outside the room.

All the guys jumped up.

"What's it?"

"Mahesh sir must be here "

"It's too sudden"

I started to have panic.

If Mahesh narayan is here, That means my end.

I was trembling from head to foot as two of my captors flew back and landed on the floor.

I looked up in shock and couldn't belive my eyes, I recognised Aditya and karthik, even with their masks.

Aditya reached near me in a dash as karthik was blocking the others and still pointing his gun at them.

"Varsha" Aditya bend down in front of my chair and looked at me as I stared straight back "Are you alright?" He asked and I couldn't even reply.

"Are you okay? we are so sorry, We are late" he said, his eyes guilty, his voice full of sincerity.

"You...you came" I whispered before I passed out again.

But as I was falling deep to the darkness, I knew that things are going to change. That I'm not alone anymore.

Mahesh surya narayan.

"What the hell happened here!?" I shouted as I looked around the unused warehouse.

All of my people were tied up.

And worse-They all looked beaten to pulp.

My driver who accompanied me to the warehouse started to untie them as fury filled me.

"You let her escape!?" I shouted at the already wounded men, who were trying to stand up now.

"They..they had gun-"

"They!? How many people came here!?" I asked.

"Two guys, They were wearing masks"

"Two! And you couldn't even take care of them!?"

I cant believe they beat up all my six people.

"They..don't look normal..They are well trained" one of my men whispered.

"What did they say?" I asked.

All of my men looked down.

"WHAT HAPPENED HERE! Tell me in detail" I yelled and they started to speak.

Apparently they had taken varsha outside first before coming back.

They had beaten up my people until each of them went on their knees and begged for their lives.

My blood started to boil as I heard the humiliating details.

"And..they..they left a message" one of them said, still looking worried and outstretched a paper to me.

I took it from him.

"Your countdown starts now, Surya group, The game starts now..."

And that was the last straw.

Aditya.

I adjusted the IV and sat beside her.

It's my third time saving her.

I looked at her sleeping.

She had been crying in her sleep so I had to give her a dose of sedative.

"Is she ok?" shahid came inside followed by karthik, who was silent all the way.

Trishana had to rush back to her headquarters to sort out the things and Aditi was with her, They said they will reach here by 10 minutes.

"it's all my fault, I shouldn't have left her in the apartment all alone, I never thought they will-"

"No" karthik shook his head, cutting shahid. "It's my fault, I need to tell you something" he said

Karthik.

"Iam..I am not a bodyguard, I am an undercover police officer, A special task officer like..Ajith sir" I said "only a trusted few knows my identity" I stated.

I noticed shahid and aditya's body stiffenimg.

I decided to open up since I want them to trust me.

All my loyalty and trust in the police department collapsed the moment I saw the police exchanging Varsha to surya group's goons.

Even my dad was made to transfer out of station to play their game, That means someone in the higher rank is helping the surya group.

"What do you mean, Karthik?" Shahid asked me.

"You know officer suresh kumar?" I looked at them and both of them nodded "I am his son, Karthik suresh kumar" I said and silence filled the room.

Then I started to tell them everything, I started from the file house since it was the first day we all came to know each other.

Even though their expression were angry and incredulous first, It slowly calmed down.

And after a lot of questions, They finally realised that I am telling the truth.

Especially when they knew that my career is on the line here.

"I really thought nothing will happen since my dad was supposed to deal with you" I said again "I never thought things will turn like this" I admitted.

"Good thing you realised there's something wrong when your dad got summoned or she would have been taken away earlier and we would have been late to interfere" Aditya said.

I nodded.

"I just thought that everything will settle down once shahid claims that he was not kidnapped by varsha, Then police won't be looking for you all over the place and you two would have the freedom" I said "Even though I hid my identity, I never had any bad intention, I just wanted you to act..legally" I stopped.

"It would be better if the legal system is dependable, but it's not the case here" Aditya said "we experienced it, We wanted help to solve the Dhyani murder case and Ajith roy sir was our only hope" he said and I raised my eyebrows, surprised.

"Dhyani murder case?" I asked "How are they related to you?"

If I remember correctly, The whole family was killed overnight and the preparator is already been jailed.

"That's our family who got murdered" Aditya said.

"But everyone in the family was murdered by a pshycho murder -"

"Not everyone died" Aditya said grimly "Aditi was stabbed, but she was the only one who survived the attack" Aditya said "And uncle prakash announced her table death during the surgery and switched her body" Aditya said and I was shocked, I didn't even know what to tell him.

The big scar on her body was from that!

"And you?" shahid asked "didn't they come after you? you are obviously the only heir remaining then" he said.

Aditya shook his head sadly.

"They killed uncle prakash's only son-Aditya"he said "who was visiting my place and I was outside" he said "when I came back and saw it.." his voice was heavy with emotion as he struggled to get the words out.

"In the end, Uncle prakash sneaked us out of India and we couldn't even..even attend the funeral..I could only watch through..tv" he stopped.

"I thought it was a pshycho killer, The case was famous"

"It was surya group" Aditya said angrily "They just made it look like some pshychopath did it, They even found someone who was ready to accept it and send him to jail" He said "This way, Everything was clean and the people protesting were calmed down" He said.

What the hell!

"So..You are..living under different identity" I said

Aditya laughed humourlessly.

"It's not Aditya and Aditi Prakash, It's Rikesh and Ritika dhyani"he said "We were at the top of food chain, great family, The heirs to the prestigious hospital groups, well known Doctors family, Nothing was impossible for us" He said "But now, Even we don't remember our name anymore, Hiding and living like this" He added.

"What happened to the Dhyani hospital groups?"

"Surya hospital groups"He scoffed "They offered investment first, The board of directors accepted it gladly since it was a difficult time after Dhyani family was wiped out" He said "We were watching them taking control of our hospital groups, Even changing the name, But we were helpless to do anything about it"He said.

cold fury filled me.

"I'm willing to continue this mission my senior started" I said firmly "i promise you, Aditya-"

I stopped as the bell rang.

"Trisha and Aditi are here" shahid said and got up from his spot "let me get the door for them"

"Don't ever mention this in front of Aditi, She's not over it yet" he said and we nodded.

The way I see it, even aditya is not over it.

I looked at varsha, who was still sleeping.

"Let her sleep for a while" Aditya said and I nodded.

I followed him out of the room and to the hall.

"Aditi wait" I heard Trisha's shout.

"What's wrong!?" shahid's voice and then I saw her.

She looked murderous.

Before I knew it, I felt the sharp piercing pain.

I looked at her in shock. She had stabbed me with her knife, Aiming for my torso, But as surprised I was, I had instinctively blocked it, causimg it to graze my bicep instead.

"You bloody cheat, You traitor-" She raised the knife again.

"I am going to kill you" She shouted as she turned to stab me again, Her eyes flashing angrily and I knew that she meant what she said.
