Third POV
"I am bored of this." Prince Nakul whines as they all sat in a room, trying to decorate it, for the eldest princess of Dwarka.
"This would not be taking this much time; you guys just have no artistic bone amongst those 206 bones in your body." Princess Dushala tuts.
"I am bored too." Prince Bheema declares.
"Do your job, you both." Prince Yudhishthira says in a monotone without looking away from where he was setting up the table for writing.
"Yes, Jyeshta." Prince Bheema and Prince Nakul pout but do as instructed.
Prince Duryodhana who was observing the whole thing standing beside Prince Yudhishthira, shakes his head.
"What?" Prince Yudhishthira whisper asks.
"All younger brothers are same." Prince Duryodhana comments.
"You don't mean that." Prince Yudhishthira looked at his cousin surprised. "Humph! I thought I was blessed by idiots. Except Sehdev, of course."
"He is fine?" Prince Duryodhana questions.
"Better than other idiots." Prince Yudhishthira told his cousin brother.
Prince Duryodhana snorts in amusement.
"Wonder how those idiots will react to see you both, now." A voice exclaims as soft, from behind them, just in their ears.
"EGH!" Both boys jump to two different sides.
Every royal kid in the room turns to stare at the scene. Karn stood there, his hands on his waist as he was bend ahead a little, whereas Prince Duryodhana had fallen to ground and looked ready to crawl away. Prince Yudhishthira was, on the other hand, standing against (read: almost a top of) the book shelf and seemed ready to climb it if needed.
Everyone started to laugh at the way the two were trying to run away from the threat. The voice, actually.
"Return back to your work." Prince Karn instructs the other prince's before turning to the two scared boys.
Prince Karn looked at the two stunned. "What kind of warriors are you both?"
The two- prince scrambled from their position and looked sheepishly at their youngest uncle.
Prince Karn shakes his head, "Duryodhana."
"Yes?" Prince Duryodhana looked at his youngest uncle intrigued.
"I still have not met Yuyutsu." Prince Karn points out. "Why don't you both go and bring him here, silently, huh?"
The two prince's nod in understanding before discretely walking out of the room. They did not need their brother's to know about this arrangement.
"I thought, Arjun was smart." Prince Duryodhana asks, he just couldn't believe it that those three Pandeva's acted just like his brother's.
"Smart, my foot!" Prince Yudhishthira exclaims. "He only thinks about Archery. Sometimes us brothers and Mata cross his thoughts that is it."
"What about Nakul?"
"Pranks."
"Geez! All these younger brothers are really made out of the same mud." Prince Duryodhana makes a face.
"You did not ask about Bheema." Prince Yudhishthira notes.
"Everyone knows that all he thinks about is food." Prince Duryodhana replies in a dead- pan voice. "And maybe about his strength."
Prince Yudhishthira nods along, there was nothing left to say in it, now.
"Where is Yuyutsu?" Prince Yudhishthira questions, in the silence suddenly.
"Must be at his home." Prince Duryodhana shrugs.
"You know where that is?" Prince Duryodhana nods in answer.
"But there is something that you must know." Prince Duryodhana begin, he seemed a little hesitant to talk about it. And having four younger brother's, Prince Yudhishthira instantly picks it up.
"Duryodhana." Prince Yudhishthira puts a hand on his cousin's shoulder to stop him, "I do know that you do not trust me, and I will not ask questions, you have my word for it, and if you really do not want me to know where he lives, why do not you bring him here? I will wait."
Prince Duryodhana looks away from the deep gaze of Yudhishthira and sighs.
"There are some things that you will learn about him." A voice says.
There stood, Ashwatthama leaning against a wall, and looking evenly relaxed.
"About?" Prince Yudhishthira questions.
"My friend, Duryodhana, who else." Ashwatthama walks closer to them.
"What are you yapping about?" Prince Duryodhana suddenly stood perfectly straight, looking at his friend with narrowed eyes.
Ashwatthama simply ignored him. "He is not that bad, you know."
"Hey! What do you mean by not that bad?" Prince Duryodhana again spoke up.
"As I was saying." Ashwatthama continues, not paying any mind to his friend, while Prince Yudhishthira just found it all, amusing. "There are things that you will learn about him that you may not believe but let me tell you that he is not such a big bastard. He is just bitchy of the attention you guys get."
"Hey!" Prince Duryodhana protests again. "What is wrong with you?"
"See, this is what I am saying." Ashwatthama smirks at Yudhishthira. "All of us have daddy issues, his bunch is just the double of ours."
Prince Yudhishthira could not hold it anymore, he burst out laughing.
The whole way of Ashwatthama talking and Duryodhana's reaction to the same, got to him deeply. It was just too funny.
"You are laughing." Prince Duryodhana says dumbly.
Prince Yudhishthira calms himself and smiles at the two friends in front of him.
"I knew very well in my heart that you were never a bad person, Duryodhana. I believe no one is truly. It's just the circumstances that make them go all dark."
"Mind my words," He continues. "Dark and not evil. A young prince such as you could never be evil. I think you very well know that I never lie, Duryodhana. I believe that all these years, what you did were wrong yes, but maybe you were not really aware of the consequences of your actions."
"And it's alright. You have a chance to redeem yourself, the earlier your do it the better it is. I know it is not easy but I also know for the fact that it is not at all impossible." Prince Yudhishthira concludes.
"You are too good to exist in this world." Ashwatthama comments.
"And yet here, I am." Prince Yudhishthira replies.
"You know for once in my life it really felt good to hear someone talk like that." Prince Duryodhana remarks suddenly, a smirk on his face, before he adds, "And most probably meaning it."
The last part was a jab at Ashwatthama who raised his hands in defeat.
"I really do mean it, Duryodhana." Prince Yudhishthira says, his voice sincere.
"Yeah, Whatever." Prince Duryodhana waves his hand off. "We need to go bring Yuyutsu here. Come on!"
Prince Yudhishthira looks at Ashwatthama confused, "What was that?" he whisper asks, when they start to walk.
"He did not completely believe you." Ashwatthama answers. "He just believes you a little because he knows you will not lie. He does not trust people easily."
"What happened?" Prince Yudhishthira questions. "What made him such?"
"It is not one incident." Ashwatthama sighs. "Truth to be told, it is more of the people. One person at the most."
"Who?" Prince Yudhishthira really wanted to know what his brother this way.
"Do you not really know the answer of that question, Prince Yudhishthira?" Ashwatthama smiles at Yudhishthira knowingly.
"What are you both whispering about?" Prince Duryodhana turns to the two who had fallen back a little, while talking.
"Just chit chatting." Ashwatthama throws an arm around Prince Yudhishthira and drags him along with himself up to Prince Duryodhana.
"Let's go." He says throwing another hand around Prince Duryodhana.
"Get your hand off me, you klutz." Prince Duryodhana tries to wriggle out of Ashwatthama's grip.
"You really talk posh." Prince Yudhishthira points out.
"I did not believe it when Bheema said that to me."
"I am a Prince!" Prince Duryodhana says. "Of course, I talk posh."
"He should never talk with Nakul." Prince Yudhishthira tells Ashwatthama, placing a hand atop the latter's which was resting on his shoulder.
"Agreed." Ashwatthama smiled, happy for the fact that even if it was a one time deal, the cousins were at least getting along.
