Chapter 6: Team Bonding

~~A/N~ For the people who have seen the fanmade comic strips and pictures I got some of the dialogue from some pictures I found funny. If the artists, sorry but I can't recall the names, would like me to take the dialogue out I will. Thank you.~~

"Alright, it's time. We need to train, Syndrome and the others are probably thinking of every possible way to stop us from beating them, or at least the ones they know of. I'm not entirely sure who they know to be on the team, but we need to prepare in case they know about all of us," Wilbur explained.

"How are we going to do that?" Penny asked.

"That is an excellent question. Hiro has finished building our costumes, and we now need to build some training simulations, so we need your help," Wilbur stated as Hiro came over.

"I know you guys don't have my intelligence, but we need some more muscle," Hiro said with a smirk.

"Something you clearly don't have," Violet retorted. Wilbur high fived her and Penny covered her mouth to stop from laughing. Hiro frowned and rolled his eyes.

"Don't worry Hiro, after our training you'll get some muscles," Penny joked and nudged him playfully.

"Haha, very funny," he said and begrudgingly led them to the underground rooms, one of which was where he worked on the costumes.

"I made them all based off of our characteristics and abilities," Hiro explained and showed his suit first.

"Mine has more bulk because I'm not as strong as the rest. I have rockets that allow me to fly and laser beams along with a supercomputer inside of it," he continued.

"For Violet and Wilbur, I just modified your suits into something with more protection. They look pretty much the same, but I used Violet's super suit to create a durable material that can turn invisible as well, however it only works if Violet is in contact with it because of her superpowers. Since somebody wouldn't let me look at his time machine's invisible mechanism," Hiro told them and looked at Wilbur rather boringly.

"Hey, I don't want my old man getting on to me because you wanted to play around with the time machine," Wilbur justified himself.

"Anyways," Hiro continued," I made Wilbur's resistant to heat and electricity, so his powers wouldn't burn them off or something, and I couldn't really do much to his weapons since they are already powerful enough," Hiro commented and showed them their suits.

"Wait, powers?" Wilbur asked.

"Yeah, electrokinesis and teleportation," Hiro replied.

"You have powers?" Violet asked. Most supers had concluded that he either didn't have powers or just didn't like to use them.

"Not that I know of," Wilbur replied.

"Maybe something happened that made you gain them?" Penny suggested.

"In the comics, I've read the Time Traveler could control lightning and teleport it seems, though it was never confirmed and some people thought that it was just 'comic book logic'," Hiro told them.

"As far as I know, I have no powers. I always thought it was the suit, the only one that had official powers was Phantom Crow, Violet," Wilbur commented.

"Phantom Crow?" Violet repeated. The name seemed rather dark to her. It reminded her of how she used to be. Now she tried to be more outgoing.

"Yeah, you have two hero alter egos, one is Miss Disappear, your Incredible name, and Phantom Crow, your Futuristic Four name. You most likely did it so that villains wouldn't be able to find you," Wilbur concluded.

"Did my hero-self have powers?" Penny asked curiously.

"Not officially, many people thought that Agent Alpha had the ability to read minds," Hiro replied.

"This whole thing is confusing," Violet stated.

"Yeah," Wilbur said and rubbed the back of his neck,"Oh well, we can worry about that later, for now, let's finish looking at the suits and then we can start building," Wilbur said and waved for Hiro to continued.

"Penny, your suit is extremely light to fit with your gymnastic abilities since you seem to be the one with the most stealth. It comes equipped with grappling hooks, smoke bombs, and stun guns in case you need a quick escape. All of the suits are connected, so you can communicate with anyone else by simply stating, 'Call' and saying one of our names or hero names," Hiro finished.

"Alright, any questions?" Wilbur asked. Everyone looked at each other and shrugged not knowing what to ask.

"Alright, let's get cracking! I already have all the blueprints ready, so we'll split in half to build the machines. Half of them deal with computing and the other half deals with mechanics, obviously, Hiro will deal the computer part, do either of you know anything about coding?" Wilbur asked them. Penny raised her hand and Violet raised an eyebrow.

"Really? I would think you'd be too busy training for your tv show to have time to work with computers," Violet said with a smile.

"That is training. I had to learn to code in order to hack into 'Dr. Calico's' computers to make it as real as possible, I actually enjoyed it," she answered and then turned to Hiro and sheepishly commented," Though I know I'm nowhere near as good as you seeing as my knowledge is from over 40 years in the past."

"It's fine I'll teach you," Hiro smiled and beckoned her to follow him to his computer.

"It looks like you're stuck with me," Wilbur told Violet with a smirk. She smirked back and crossed her arms.

"Lucky me," she told him and they both got started on the machines. It was fairly quiet at first, but they eventually filled the room with chatter and laughter.

"Okay, I just have to ask. Violet why is your super suit red?" Penny asked curiously.

"So Villains can't tell when I'm bleeding," Violet replied matter-of-factly.

"So Hiro has the right idea, his shorts are already brown," Wilbur commented.

"Unbelievable, why do you always pick on me?" Hiro huffed.

"Don't worry, I'll protect you," Penny proclaimed and wrapped one arm around his shoulder while the other formed a fist in the air.

They all laughed together, enjoying a few minutes of peace.

"No, but really. I have no idea, my dad's suit used to be blue, but when he became a superhero again he changed it to red, and so we all have red as our main color," Violet explained.

They worked for hours, even Bolt helped deliver things, but they knew it would take a while for them to get done, so they tried their hardest. They would sometimes take breaks a few minutes long to just talk about normal things. Violet and Penny didn't ask about the future, not wanting to alter anything, and instead focused on the group. They talked about all kinds of things, such as Hiro's obsession with gummy bears, and Wilbur's obsession with hair gel. They even exchanged battle stories about things that had happened to them.

"Yeah, getting erased from existence is not fun. I even have double memories now," Wilbur told them as they were making their way back to the building above ground since they kept everything super-related underground.

"I can only imagine," Penny said and shuddered.

"Now what?" Hiro asked as he plopped down on the couch.

"I don't know about you, but I feel exhausted," Wilbur sighed. He got his phone out from his pocket and played some music.

"Hey, I know this song!" Violet exclaimed.

It was a really old song that was popular in Violet's time. Wilbur smiled and stood up. They both started to dance to the familiar tune.

"Why do you have this song?" Violet asked as he twirled her around.

"What can I say? I'm into retro," Wilbur replied and smiled. Penny giggled at the scene and turned to Hiro.

"Let me guess, you're more of an alternative rock kind of guy?" Penny asked. She smiled with her arms crossed and walked over to the chair he was sitting in.

"How did you know?" he asked slightly surprised. She shrugged and grabbed his hand, dragging him onto the "dance floor".

"Come on!" she exclaimed and started to dance. Hiro smiled showing off his gap before awkwardly joining in.

"See you're getting it!" Penny laughed.

The four of them continued to dance, never noticing Tadashi by the door smiling at the scene. Honey Lemon walked over and smiled as well before they both left, deciding that they could wait a few minutes before telling Hiro it was time to go home. It did make Tadashi curious though.

Did they not have families to go back to? He wasn't complaining, Hiro had never seemed that happy before, but maybe something happened that made them not want to go home often. He decided to not think about it, they were having fun after all, and that was all that mattered.
