(I'm working on improving my writing because I've been receiving quite a bit of hate because I get into romance to fast and don't tend to use paragraphs. hope this is better. And yes I finally updated. Writer's block is HORRIBLE!)

Your Pov

I had just finished feeding Ava. she squeaked happily in my arms. I cooed at her and she giggled.

suddenly I heard Groaning from where Guts was. I looked at him. his eye was still shut. 

"Hello?" he asked. he moved his metal arm to his forehead. I put Ava down and walked over to him. 

"Hey," I said. his eye shot open at the sound of my voice. 

"Y-Y/n?" he asked. I nodded and gave him a smile. he leaned up and wrapped his arms around me tightly. I couldn't breathe.

"Guts, ow." I gasped. He didn't let go. I hit his shoulder trying to make him let go of me but of course, him being him, he didn't notice. That was until Ava started crying.

He looked at me his eye wide open. He looked around the room and his eye landed on Ava in her little crib. His arms became loose and I quickly slipped out of his grasp freeing myself and finally being able to breathe. 

He walked over to Ava slowly and kneeled in front of her crib. She stopped crying and looked at him. She smiled and laughed at him. 

He looked at himself and quickly took off any armor that was on him not including his metal arm. He reached inside the crib and picked her up. He looked at her in awe. she reached up and put her hands on his face.

A smile graced my face as tears fell down my face. I had never seen Guts so calm before. 

"this is adorable," Scarlett said. "it's not every day you see a demon murderer smile like this."

"agreed," I whispered. Guts would have to get used to my mumbling again. Issy and Schierke came running down the stairs and I shushed them quickly. They paused and looked at Guts who was still admiring Ava. They squeaked in happiness very quietly. Guts hadn't moved a muscle since he had picked her up still just looking at her. 

"Dude. He's going to have to look away at some point. Has he even blinked?" Scarlett asked and I chuckled.

"Guts. You should probably move something. You're gonna stiffen up." I smiled gently and I moved to sit beside him. 

"She looks like you." He said quietly. I looked at him like he was crazy. 

"She looks like you where the hell do you see me?" I said and Ava giggled again nuzzling him gently and Guts tensed due to a tiny human baby snuggling his 6'5 mass. (Did that research by the way. :) Correct me If I'm wrong) 

He gently ran his normal hand over her head brushing some of the small strands out of her face and she gently grabbed his fingers making a little laugh noise. Ava tried to hold gut's hand but Guts jerked it away gently so he didn't hurt her. He handed her to me and abruptly got up and left. 

" Well that was weird," I said confused. Issy came over with Schierke who gently put out her arms looking at her in awe. I gently put her in her arms. 

"support her head. be gentle." I said smiling gently. She nodded doing what I said and she smiled looking at her in awe. Ava reached her arms up and gently touched her nose and giggled and they both looked at her in awe smiling gently. I trusted them with her and I went upstairs to see Guts swinging his sword-Or huge freaking chunk of metal- around everywhere as if hitting imaginary demons. I walked over to him and I didn't get to close. 

"Guts." I said and he swung his sword my direction but I wasn't' close enough and he missed with it barely an inch away from my face. "What's wrong?" I asked plainly. He looked at me for a moment before putting his sword on his back and then he turned away.

"Nothing. Leave me alone." He said. I growled walking over to him and I walked in front of him and I grabbed his face slamming my lips onto his shocking him. 

"You were away for months! Months! The least you could do would stay here with me dammit! Do you know how hard it was to be by myself? A Women? with a baby on the way?" I said as tears fell down my face. I hiccuped and Guts stared at me and he struggled with what to do.

Suddenly as I looked down letting the tears fall as I remembered the terror of going everywhere alone pregnant, I felt a warm fabric wrapped around me. It was his cape he wore. I gently wrapped it around myself breathing in his scent and suddenly he picked me up bridal style and he held me close staying silent. I rested my head on his shoulder gently as he held me bridal style and began carrying me back.

"Don't leave," I said and he looked at me.

"You know our job. Well, My job." He said plainly. He had changed while I was gone. He had probably gone through a shit ton of trauma. 

"Well suck it up guts! I'm part of your job!" I yelled and he set me down. 

"Prove it." He smirked and I glared at him.

"I will. Outside." I said. He turned back around and we went outside to an empty field and I pulled out my sword and I took a deep breathe as he didn't take out his.

"You make the first move." He said. I growled and I ran straight forward and he sighed sadly going to punch me but of course, I'm not that stupid to do a head-on attack so I quickly ducked rolling to the side swinging my sword at his exposed thigh and he growled a bit when It cut him. His arm switched to the crossbow and he started firing and so I put a wall of fire up with Scarlett and let them burn. He stopped and It went dead silent. I knew he was planning something so I waited. 

Suddenly I heard a loud sound of snow crunching behind me and I cursed loudly turning around and I shoved my hands forward creating a blast of fire to blast right at him hitting his armor and then knocking him back a bit as the snow melted causing mud and he growled taking his sword and blocking the blast somewhat with his sword causing it to burn and turn red due to heat. I smirked. 

"Had too much yet Guts?" I asked and he looked at me as I splashed his sword with water cooling it down and turning it back to its normal shade of grey. He looked at me and charged head-on since he was able to with his huge sword. He swung it at my legs making me jump and do the famous land on his sword and he growled demonically as I walked up his sword and he began spinning it trying to get me to fall off but I managed to stay on using Scarlett and I felt myself getting sick and so I shoved water at his face and he dropped the sword sending me and the sword flying as he coughed and I slammed into the ground with the sword by me and I yelped in pain. 

"Ow son of a bitch," I said quietly sitting up yelping and holding my side in slight pain. Please tell me I did not just break my ribs. Guts came over. 

"That was a dirty move." He said. I chuckled and then I yelped in pain wincing. He kneeled beside me gently moving my arm away from my side and lifting my shirt running his hand over my ribs making me yelp. "They aren't broken. Just super bruised." He said. I nodded.

"Thank god. That would be bad." I looked at him and he looked back. "So. Did I make it?" I smirked. He sighed and nodded. I smiled like a dork and abruptly kissed him again ignoring the excruciating pain that shot through me. He firmly grabbed my hips kissing back and I winced slightly. 

"Guts. I just had a child a bit ago. No." I chuckled. "I'm still healing. That shit hurts." 

He sighed and he moved back a bit. "We still have to go and eat anyways. Come on." He said offering me his hand and I took it gently as he helped me stand up and he let go of my hand once I was balanced grabbing his sword putting it back on his back. He leads me back downstairs where Issy and Schierke were holding Ava together sleeping with her in their laps with her head on Issy's lap and Ava on her lap. I smiled gently. 

"Let's let them sleep. They're cute." I smiled gently and he sighed nodding and we went back upstairs and inside where they were already preparing some meat soup and then some bread on the side. They smiled at us. 

"It won't be done for another 30 minutes. You guys can wait for a bit," he said. I nodded and I looked at Guts as he sat down beside the wall taking off his sword and I sat beside him resting my head on his shoulder gently and his arm snaked around my waist as I fell asleep gently while waiting.
