Chapter: 1

Your pov ( it starts off in a snowy area)

it was freezing! i didn't let that show. plus i couldn't shiver because my armor was to heavy for my body to shake like that. an if it did, i would be really sore really quick. Guts, Isidro -Issy for short- and me were walking trying to find a place to stay. " holy crap Guts! its freezing! why are we here of all places!?" Issy asked. i almost scoffed but i held it back. " well, theirs a shed up ahead. we can break some of it and use it for a fire." Guts said.

they had started the fire and i sat down with my back resting up against one of the very few pieces of wood able to hold the roof up. i was away from the fire. i didn't want to bother them right now. i closed my eyes and acted asleep. i waited a few minutes before hearing the fire go out and the light snores. i opened one eye slightly. Guts and issy were sleeping. i stood up slowly and quietly. i stepped out into the snow. it was even colder then it was before we got here. then i remembered that it was only sunset and now its really dark out. i took out my sword. ( a normal simple sword ) i swung it a few times getting my fingers used to it considering they were numb and hard to move. i kept swinging. i hit trees and i never made a cut. when i did it was only a small cut. " maybe its not sharp enough." i said to myself. i put my sword on my hand and dragged down a little bit. blood came out of my hand. so my sword was sharp. "i mist be in the wrong stance" i said. i did a stance and analyzed my every move as i swung. i was doing everything right. i swore under my breath. i felt a sharp pain on my shoulder. i pull down my sleeve slightly. my mark,

was glowing a reddish color. i put my sleeve back on and i continued fighting. i heard something like whispers. all of a sudden black mists run past me. i almost fall backwards. " what is going on?" i whispered when i realized, they were heading for Guts. " GUTS!" i screamed. he woke quickly getting his blade ready. i charged at a demon but they caught my blade. " your not ready yet?" it said. "huh?" it shoved me knocking me over and i rolled a little bit before stopped. it was so cold. i was to numb to feel pain. i stood up. " i ran over to the Demon and put my sword up to its neck. i ignored the blood running down my face. " what am i not ready for!?" i yelled. everything stopped fighting to watch us. even Guts and Issy stopped and watched. " the mark on your shoulder, don't you know? oh wait, your not ready because you don't know. so let me say this now." it said. he leaned over by my ear and whispered, " your part of us, your half demon."

i was sitting in the shed again. " what did he say to you?" Guts asked. "h-he said that it tells me when i become stronger but I'm not ready for my strongest point yet." i said. not a total lie but it wasn't the full truth. " Hah! that's probably why the demons didn't attack you. they were terrified." Issy said laughing. my heart was pounding. Issy had already fallen asleep a few minutes after. it was just me and Guts left awake. i tried to fall asleep but i was too cold. i was actually shivering despite my armor. " you alright?" Guts asked. i looked up at him. " yeah why?" i asked. " your shaking, a lot." he said. " i don't understand h-h-how your not cold!" i whispered yelled. he sighed and got up. he sat next to me and held me next to him. he was really warm! i fell asleep pretty quickly after that

Guts pov

she fell asleep pretty quickly after i sat down next to here. my neck was slightly burning. the mark was throbbing. i ignored it. i got curious. i pulled down her sleeve a little bit to see her mark. it looked like a sacrifice circle with fire around it. it had something to do with demons. it was confusing. if she had an overpowering strength she was not able to use yet, why did the mark resemble a demon circle? unless, her overpowering strength is a demon...
