April of 2099, UNSA Head Quarters.

"Lieutenants Gawain and Aran!" Ike and Samus saluted, "Yes Sir!" The General gave them both one in return, "At ease...you both have been assigned a special mission by the counsel themselves.." Ike's eyes were wide, "The counsel...gave us a mission?" The General nodded back at him, "Apparently so...you both are to return here tomorrow at 0600 hours." Both of them nodded, "As a reward for your hard work and dedication to the UNSA...you both take the rest of the day off.." Samus looked at Ike, "Yes Sir..." was all Ike said to him. "You are both dismissed." They saluted and went their separate ways. "What do you think this mission is about?" Samus asked him, hoping to get an answer out of him. Ike didn't look at her, "We only know the information with what the General gave us..." Samus bit her lip, "Alright...seems fair..." "Samus Aran." A voice called from behind her. She turned around..only to see her lover, Adam Malcovich. He smiled at her, "Good to see you..." Samus smiled softly and gave him a kiss on the cheek. "Hello to you too...General Malcovich.." Ike rolled his eyes, "Since you two are too busy showing public displays of affection...I'm going to the training room." He soon left, "What's his deal?" Adam asked. Samus looked at Ike leaving, "It's a mission he was assigned to..."

Ike loaded a gun and started shooting at the targets, "You've been practicing your shooting Ike?" A voice called. Ike turned around and saw that it was none other than his father, "You always had a sharp eye for things like this.." Greil walked towards his son, "Did Shepherd give you a mission?" Ike nodded, "He did...but the strange part about it...is the fact that he never specified what the mission was going to be about." Greil rubbed his chin, "I'll try to talk to him about it, and maybe...I can get some information out of him. You want me to ask him?" Ike shook his head, "Father...I'm not a little kid anymore, I can take care of myself...I'm 26 and a Lieutenant, I can do it.." Greil put a hand on Ike's shoulder, "I know you are son..." he smiled, "...and I am proud of you for that, your mother and sister would be really proud of what you are doing.." Ike nodded, "I hope so..." Greil then walked to the weapons table. "So...how are you and Lieutenant Aran?" Ike rolled his eyes, "We're fine, but I've already told you Father she loves someone else...and no matter what I keep telling her about what Adam did to you when you were here." Greil looked back at him with a knife, "Son...I will never forget what he did, but if Samus is really in love with him...then that's her choice." Ike looked down, "Alright...I believe you then.." Ike then heard alarms go off, "People! We are under attack! This is not a drill!" An announcement was made. Ike looked around, "Father! Get to safety!" Greil turned to his son, "Son...I may be only 68 years old...but I can kick ass." Ike nodded and ran out of the training room.

Samus tapped her comm wrist, "Gawain! Where is your location?!" "I'm at sector Charlie right now! I am on your way!" Samus then went into a pod and got into her Zero Suit, she then tied her hair up in a pony tail and grabbed her jet boots. Samus quickly ran out to meet Ike, "What's the damage?" Ike looked at her, "We're being attacked by SDF forces!" She growled, "Basterds!" Ike grabbed her hand and ran into the weapon room, "Grab your weapon!" She nodded and saw her gun. Samus turned back at Ike and saw him grabbing his sword, Ragnell. It was a marvelous golden blade, with a black netherite hilt that only he could hold, to top it all off it even had beautiful shiny emeralds. Ike plunged his sword into the ground to change into his battle outfit, as the flames settled Samus saw for the first time, his battle outfit. Ike reached for his olive green headband and tied it around his head. "Let's go get these basterds..." Ike and Samus killed many of their enemies, "On your six!" Ike yelled out to her. "Gawain! On your three!" Ike threw a knife at the person that was coming at him. Greil came from th corner and saw them fighting, "Hey you scallywags!" The members of the SDF looked at him, "Try this on for size, Earth!" Greil slammed his axe on the ground creating pillars of rocks. Ike looked back at Greil, "Father! I told you to get somewhere safe!" Greil looked at his son, "I told you..I am in perfect condition to fight." Ike balled his fist up, "Damn it...." he looked back and saw someone with a mask on..Ike couldn't describe it, but the person was surely hiding behind a mask. Greil gripped his axe, "Stay here...I feared this day would come..." Ike looked at Greil, "Father...." Greil then walked towards the unknown person. "Long time no see...Greil..." he gripped his axe harder, "Like wise....Amadeus.." The man in the mask took off his mask, "How long has it been...30 years?" Greil interuppted him, "50 years....since our duel...I never actually think you'd work for the SDF." Amadeus smirked, "Somethings change for the better, now...let's fight." Greil stood his ground and held his hand out, he chanted a few words. "Alondite...come to me!" A silver sword similar to Ragnell came to Greil's hand, "Come on boy...come try me.." They charged at each other and clashed swords, "Ike! Samus! Help the people escape now!" "But father-" Greil turned to Ike,"THAT'S AN ORDER!" Ike gritted his teeth, "Yes sir!" Ike and Samus soon then left to help people.

Amadeus kicked Greil down, "Come on old man...get your ass up and fight!" He kicked him again once more. Greil spat out blood, he weakly started to slowly get up. "I...Greil...Agnarr...Gawain...solemnly swear...to serve the United Nation Security Association...until my last breath....we made that promise 30 years ago...traitor.." Amadeus clashed swords with Greil, "The UNSA are nothing but lies...one day I hoped you see it like that....Master...." Ike looked at the two men, "Father!" Samus turned her attention to Ike, "Ike! We have to go now!" Ike looked at he with determination. "Not without my father!" Samus balled her fist up and let go, "Alright..." Adam ran up behind her, "Samus! We've got to go!" Samus looked at him and back at Ike, "I'm sorry Adam..." she kissed then Adam's cheek, "I am not leaving without the General." Adam grabbed her hand, "Then I'm coming with you.." he gave a small smile. Amadeus growled, he then did a roundhouse kick to Greil's jaw. He clutched his jaw in pain, Greil slowly got up. "Father!" Ike ran toward him, Greil quickly turned to him, "Ike No! It's not safe for yo-" Amadeus pulled out a sword and stabbed him. Greil gasped, "N-No!" He weakly yelled. Ike widened his eyes, "FATHER!!" Amadeus pressed his fingers to his ear, "I'm done here...let's blow this place up." Ike yelled and started running towards Amadeus, "YOU BASTERD!! YOU'LL PAY FOR THIS!!" Amadeus smirked and shot his arm. Ike grunted in pain as he fell down, "Father!" Greil's breath was getting weaker and weaker by the minute. "M-My son...." Ike pulled Greil up, "Come on..." he hissed in pain. "We can make it.."

Greil pushed Ike away, "I can't make it.....but you..can.." Ike looked at his father with tears in his eyes, "No...I'm going to get you out of here." Fire started blazing near them, "Ike....your protection is what matters to me...I told you when you were younger I will protect you all my life...my time is coming near." Ike had felt hot tears streaming down his cheeks, "I don't.......want to be alone....." Greil smiled weakly at him and fell down, Ike then leaned his father against a nearby wall. Greil held his hand in Ike's, "My son...you're not alone...you have Samus with you...I will be looking down at you in the heavens..." He then looked at Ike in his eyes, "Every night...look up at the stars...I am going to be one of them." Ike teared up and hugged his father, "Thank you Father...for everything." Greil chuckled dryly. "Now go My son..." Ike got up and started running towards a nearby exit. Greil smiled softly to himself and closed his eyes, "My love..I'm coming home.." He held a locket in his hand and opened it, showing a picture of him, his wife, Ike, and Mist. Greil slowly felt himself losing..soon the thought within him went dim...then silent. He lied there, still smiling, he felt himself surrounded by his wife and daughter.

"Where is he?!" Samus yelled, "Ike!!" She yelled, Adam came up behind her. "Samus...I don't think he made it..." Samus balled her fist up, before she fell on the ground. She then screamed at the top of her lungs, calling Ike's name. But there was nothing. BOOM! The building exploded, but Ike was nowhere to be seen. Samus was crying her eyes out. "Ike..." But then a figure started walking out of the building, clutching onto his left arm. Blood coming out of his mouth, leg, and forehead. Samus took a minute to figure out who the figure was, but her eyes widened to see the person. "Ike!" She yelled, Adam gritted his teeth and balled his fist up. Ike looked at her and slowly made his way towards her. Samus ran up to him and helped Ike, "Come on...medic!"

               A little later.....

"You'll both be going to the year 2034...this is when the SDF were starting forming...but back then, they we're known as the Iranians..you'll both be saving a little boy that goes by the name of Aaron Richardson..." Ike crossed his arms, "That's what the commander told us..but the question is..how long are we going to be there?" The head counselman looked at Ike and Samus. "You will both be staying there for a few months, try to be information on the Iranians." Samus spoke up, her tone almost quiet. "And what if we fail?" The Counselman turned to Samus, "We will retrive your bodies and have them back here in no time." Ike looked down, "Do you have information on my father's body?" There was a sigh, "Sadly...we don't..we are terribly sorry for your loss." Ike sighed, "Don't bore me with your sympathy...I don't need it." Samus looked at Ike, "Hey...they're showing compassion, the least you could do is be considerate for them."  Ike closed his eyes, "Okay...Okay...I appreciate you showing me concern." The counsel then said in unison, "You are both dismissed." Ike and Samus nodded, then they left.

"You care about him more than me? Is that what it is?" Adam said while walking with Samus. "Adam...you know it's not like that." She ignored his comment, "You're honestly not making this work out." Adam chuckled,"Lady, you aren't cooperating with me." Samus turned around and pointed a finger in his face. "Next time you call me lady...I am going to hurt yo-" Adam silenced her with a slap across her face. "I can do whatever the hell I feel like...got me?" Samus looked at Adam and growled at him, "You're asking for it.." Adam slapped again so hard, that Ike heard it. Ike turned around walked towards him, he then tapped his shoulder. Adam turned to Ike and smirked, "What?" Ike then right hooked his jaw. "Good Greif....you truly are the lowest scum in history..." he muttered under his breath. Adam growled and threw a fist at him, but to Adam's surprise...Ike caught it. He then twisted his wrist to his back. Adam yelled out in pain, "Okay Okay! I yield!" Ike let got and stared at him, but Adam wasn't done yet. Adam charged at Ike, he sighed. Ike grabbed Adam by his throat and slammed him against a wall. Adam struggled to get out of his grasp, "Please! H-Have forgiveness!" Ike got in his face, and for the first time ever he wasn't afraid of Adam. "You want forgiveness? Get religion.." he then let go of Adam. Samus looked at Ike and back at Adam. Ike scoffed and walked away, "Ike." Samus followed him, "What the hell? I had it under control." Ike didn't look at her, "He slapped you twice Samus. You didn't seem like you had it under control." Samus rolled her eyes, "I didn't need a hero Ike." Ike turned to her, "Who the hell said I was helping you? I needed to give Adam payback for what he did." Samus rose an eyebrow,"Exactly what did he do?" Ike crossed his arms, "He's jealous of me..isn't he?" Samus looked at him, "...Maybe so..." Ike scoffed, "That's just really pathetic.." he went to his dorm and grabbed a few things.

Samus noticed and saw a picture of his family, as she went to grab it she saw his graduation photos. "Still admiring the old me, aren't you?" He said. Samus shrugged a little, "What of I am?" Ike turned to her, "There's not that much to look at." Samus smiled a little and stood beside him. "How are you holding up Ike?" He was quiet, "Knock Knock..I know Ike is in there." She softly tapped Ike head. Ike turned to her, "Not...well." Samus did the unexpected and hugged him. Now to Ike's surprise she had a boyfriend, not just any boyfriend...but the Commander's son. Now at first Ike didn't know what to do, so he just went with it and hugged her back. "I'm always here Ike...I promise." Ike nodded and pulled away. "Let's get something to eat..I'm famished." Samus smiled softly, "You read my mind." After they ate Ike and Samus went up to their dorms, "I'll come and wake you up...okay?" Samus nodded, "Yes Sir." Ike walked away, "Sleep well Samus.." she smiled a little and opened her dorm, to see Adam...and another woman. "Are you kidding me right now?!" Adam looked at her and smirked, "What? Like what you see?" Samus balled her fist up, "The hell I do! This is what we do now?!" Adam shrugged, "What are you going to do about it? Nothing. So keep your Damn mouth quiet!" Samus then reached in her closet and grabbed her suitcase, packing it with all of her stuff. "Oh so you're leaving now?! How real mature Samus!" Samus pointed a finger at him, "We're done...you and me." She then slammed her dorm and knocked on Ike's dorm. "In a minute.." Ike said, "Look...Drill Sargeant...I already told Rodriguez to get those damned-" he opened the door...shirtless, he looked down and saw Samus, "Let me guess....he kicked you out?"

Samus had ignored him, Ike sighed a bit. "Come on in....I'll buy some of your favourite ice cream." Samus looked around, then turned to Ike. "He cheated..." Ike closed his eyes and shook his head. "Why am I not surprised?" Samus came into his dorm. "Do you have a spare bed?" Ike shook his head, "No...we'll just have to share one.." She rolled her eyes, "That'll just do.." Ike sighed, "Come on in." Samus then came into his room. She then plopped herself on the couch. "I'll be right back..stay out of trouble, okay?" Samus didn't answer. Ike grabbed his wallet and left. Samus lied down on the couch taking deep breaths, "You've really fucked up big time Aran..." she told herself. She then got up, grabbed her suitcase and pulled out a thing of pills. She then got up and went to the cabinet, grabbed a cup and filled it with water. Ike came back with a thing of mint chocolate chip ice cream, a king sized bar Hersheys, and a large cup full of Deit Coke. "I'm back.." Ike saw Samus lying down on the couch wearing only a light blue robe. Samus got up and smiled a little, a little flustered by Ike's look. "Like what you see?" Ike thought to himself, "Ike...you're a man, have some dignity dammit.." Ike rolled his eyes and handed the stuff to her, "I'll give you spoon...just give me a second." Samus took the items from him and sat herself down, "Thank you for getting me this stuff, it means a lot." Ike shrugged, "You needed it anyways." He then handed Samus a spoon. Ike then took off his shoes, then sat himself at his desk. "Drill Sargeant Raines....I have Lieutenant Aran with me at the moment, do I permission to keep her in my dorm for tonight?" Raines was on the other side, "Gawain....you do know what happens if Commander Malkovich found out..right?" Ike took a deep breath, "I'm willing to take that chance then." "Then you do have my permission." Ike nodded and closed his comm wrist, "Raines said you can stay for the night." Samus nodded, "Come sit with me..." Ike rubbed his temples, "Alright..." he then got up from his desk and sat next to her. "Think you're going to get better?" Samus shrugged, "It may take a few weeks...but I know that I'll be perfectly okay Ike." He nodded, "Okay..." Samus then smiled, "Ike...have you ever fell in love before?" Ike turned to her, "I cannot confirm nor deny." She laughed a little, "Oh come on...you have to tell me the lucky person's name." Ike sighed, "You really want to know that bad?" Samus nodded, "You bet I do." Ike rolled his eyes and crossed his arms, "Alright..."
*Next day*

Ike and Samus had gotten up early to get their morning morning workout routine done, afterwards they had gone back to Ike's dorm to get their uniforms. (They're the same ones from he first chapter.) While Ike was getting his outfit on Samus came up to him, "Can you help me get this thing on?" Ike rolled his eyes, "Turn around." Samus did what he told her to do. Ike then slipped the jacket on her. "Thanks..." Ike nodded. As they walked to the chamber room Robin noticed had noticed them. "Alright...what's the year you guys are headed to?" He asked getting ready to set the chambers online. "October 17th, 2034" Robin nodded. "Which place?" Robin asked. Ike replied, "Tokyo, Japan." Robin then entered the coordinates, "You both ready?" They both nodded, soon they both got in their chambers. "Setting course in 3....2....1..."
