"Whyyy can't it just be the weekend already?"

"You look like an eskimo," Carlos says and I pull my blanket tighter around me. Blankets are just my favourite things in the world.

"Thanks." Sitting on the couch beside him and Naomi – his girlfriend – I interrupt their romantic time together and he pauses the movie.

"Do you mind?"

"No, you can stay. As long as you don't make out." I grab the remote and put on something more interesting – like spongebob.

Naomi puts her hand on Carlos's leg. "It's okay, we can just go upstairs."

Hunnnnyyyyyy.

These kids are fourteen, let's just calm down. I sound like a hypocrite because I lost my virginity at fifteen to the devil, but fourteen is a lot different to fifteen. It just is.

"No, you guys just stay here. I'll leave." Stomping into the kitchen, I get a packet of chips and sit across from Alex as he does something on his laptop.

"I'm so bored."

No reply.

"I think Carlos and Naomi are already having sex."

No reply.

"I'm bored."

What the fuck is he doing? What could be more interesting than me?"

"Do you think I should get my clit pierced?"

"Please do not say anything like that to me ever again."

"That's what you get for ignoring me." I struggle to get my phone out of my sports bra when I get a text. It's in there because I have no pockets right now and blankets haven't evolved enough to have pockets.

Wesley Are u okay? Ty is a creep

Me I'm used to creeps

Wesley U coming on Saturday?

Me Yeah unless u don't want me to

Wesley I do want you to

Wesley I mean why would I not?

Me Dunno

Wesley Gonna be better with u there

Me How so?

Wesley  👀

WHAT DOES THAT MEAN?

"What are you smiling at?"

"What? Nothing. I'm not smiling," I drop the smile from my face.

Alex narrows his eyes. "Oh, and you're not in the place to say anything about Carlos and Naomi having sex. You are also a child who should not be doing it."

I glare and throw a chip at him then regret it straight away because I could have ate that.

"Oh, Brooke's coming by the way," I tell Max while buckling up my seatbelt.

"I know. She's going with Wes."

"Oh."

"My friend Casey is also coming," he smiles and I roll my eyes. Great. By friend he means the girl he just started talking to who he's gonna sleep with then magically stop being friends with.

"Get in the back," Max says when we stop outside his friends house.

"Excuse me?"

"Get in the back."

"I heard you. Your bimbo friend isn't taking shotgun."

"I'm driving and it's my car so I make the rules."

"I'm not moving."

"Move."

"I'm not moving."

"Move."

"I'm not moving!"

"Move!"

"Fine! But you owe me food." I climb into the backseat and try to ignore Max and Casey flirting the whole way until we arrive at the go-carting place. Wesley and Brooke are already inside laughing at something when we walk in. I get a weird feeling in the pit of my stomach from the sight of it.

"What's so funny?" I ask and they stop laughing.

"Nothing, you had to be here to see it," Brooke says and I just nod. Wesley must sense my saltiness because he furrows his eyebrows and gives me a questioning look which I ignore and turn away.

When Tyler gets here we change into the overalls the workers give us and get helmets. Wesley comes up close to my ear while i'm tying my hair back,

"Don't you just look adorable in that overall," he whispers.

"Surprised you'd notice, considering you're too busy finding things hilarious with Brooke."

"Not even gonna try to hide that you're jealous?"

"I'm not jealous," I scoff.

"Oh no, what if something bad happens?" Casey cries when Tyler and Brooke walk though the gate to the track.

"It won't. It's completely safe," Max assures.

"Actually; it's not. You could break your neck," I say then walk through the gate, already feeling bad about saying that. It's Wesley's fault for getting me in a mood.

"Ready to lose, Yasmin?" Tyler says from his cart.

"I'd rather die than let you beat me at anything," I pull on my helmet, feeling determined.

As soon as the worker dude waves the flag, i'm speeding ahead past Tyler and Brooke, skidding round the corner that the others slow down for. I smile to myself, knowing i'm gonna kick their asses until the next narrow turn that I go too wide on and Wesley ends up taking over. Dickhead.

For the rest of the way I try to take over him again but all he does is cut me off and I almost crash into the back of him. When you're as competitive as me, this is very frustrating.

"I hate you!" I yell, pulling my helmet off and getting out of the cart.

"Don't be a bad loser," he smirks.

"I should have won but my cart had something wrong with it and wouldn't go fast enough," Tyler claims and we both roll our eyes in response.

Getting out of my overalls, I give everything back to the guy then turn around to see Max making out with Casey.

"Where are the restrooms?" I ask the worker.

"First door down that corridor."

I thank him and walk down. When I open the door to the small unisex toilet, I realise Wes is behind me. Standing in front of the mirror, I begin to fix my ponytail which turned into a mess from the helmet.

"Still mad that I beat you?"

"Shut up."

He chuckles, his eyes trailing down my body and making me uncomfortable. "How can I make it up to you?"

"You can leave me alone."

"Why are you being like this? It's gotta be more than just losing."

"I'm not the only one acting different."

"What am I doing?"

"You're... flirting and stuff."

"I'm a naturally flirtatious person."

"So am I, but that isn't unintentional flirting."

"Well, maybe I like flirting with you then."

"Well stop."

"Don't you like it?"

"No. It was a lot better when we were just friends and had no weirdness."

He raises an eyebrow, studying me. "But you like me."

"No."

"You told me. Can't take it back now – and don't say it was 'cause you were drunk."

He takes a step closer and I involuntarily bite my lip, making his eyes go to them. "So maybe I do; it doesn't change anything."

"It changes a lot."

"No, 'cause nothing will ever happen because i'm not stupid and you only want to hook up."

"Who says I don't like you too?" I'm quiet and he takes another slow step closer, making my stomach fill with butterflies. His hand touches my waist. "I've had feelings for you for a long time."

"How do I know you're not lying?"

He shrugs. "How do I know you're not lying? You're the one that breaks hearts."

"Look, it doesn't matter. I don't want to get into a relationship and you probably don't either, so this isn't happening."

"So," he pulls me against him and I take in a sharp breath. "I'm supposed to go on with life never getting to touch you... or kiss you... when I know that you like me back?"

"Yes," I say, my voice coming out breathless.

He moves his head in close and just like the last night we kissed, I can't bring myself to pull away. "What if I can't do that?"

"That's your problem."

He shakes his head, a smile tugging at his lips and he moves closer, his lips just tracing mine. He waits there, letting me struggle to resist until I have to close the gap, kissing him first. It feels so good; why can't it be okay to do this with your fiends without it getting awkward?

Putting my hands on either side of his face, I control the kiss, showing him the way I like it. Just after the tongue has been introduced, he walks forward until my back is pressed against the wall.

The kiss turns a whole new level of sexual when his hands run all over my body and I grind my lower half against his, feeling his hard bulge.

"You guys, lets go!" Brooke shouts from outside the door and we quickly pull away from each other, taking a few seconds to catch our breaths and recover from the intensity of what just happened.

I quickly walk past him and open the door, getting out of that hot restroom. Tyler holds a sheet of paper in front of me.

"Max and Casey were last," he laughs.

"Cool. Let's go."

"Yas, i'm taking Casey home so go with Wes 'cause he's coming back to our place," Max says and Wesley and I look at each other.

"Uh, okay." When we're outside, I get into the passenger side of Wesley's car and Brooke gets into the back.

"I'm surprised you're not attacking him right now because he beat you," Brooke laughs.

"Don't remind her," Wesley says, starting the car and looking at me with his lust filled eyes that make my body feel hot.

"You cheated," I say quietly, sounding like a nervous fifteen year old talking to her crush, or should I just say – sounding like the old pathetic me.

Get a grip of yourself, Yasmin.

"It was completely fair," his tone is also quiet and strange and he glances at me with a small smile.

After taking Brooke home, we go to my house but when Wesley's car is parked outside, neither of us move.

"So now you've had time to think, that was a mistake and I can't tell anyone, right?"

"No," he furrows his eyebrows. "You know how I feel."

"Why does it matter if you don't want to get into a relationship?"

"Maybe I do."

I laugh, "Right."

"Okay, maybe I don't. Well, not right now, but-"

"I'm not waiting around for you," I pause. "And I'm not waiting around for myself either. Let's just let this go, okay?" I get out and walk inside.

"You are too much," Wes says, following me. "I will never understand you."

"Welcome to the club," Jace says, coming out of the kitchen.

"Let's talk somewhere alone."

"I'm done talking."

"Oooooh," Jace smirks, looking at Wes.

"I'm not done."

Jace speaks before I can. "If Yasmin says she's done talking; you both are."

"Can you just go do something more productive with your time?" Wesley snaps.

"Why do you care what I do with my time? Have you secretly been using Max and Yasmin to get close to me?"

The front door opens and Max comes in. "Can you believe I lost at go-carting just to stick by Casey's side? The things I do for sex." He freezes when he sees the tense scene in front of him. "What's going on?"

"Nothing important," Wes gives me a short glare then walks past Jace, hitting his shoulder on the way and him and Max go upstairs.

Only I could make a guy go from looking at me in a way that says he wants to rip my clothes off, to him looking at me like he hates me.

It's a talent of mine.

"Ugh," I throw myself down on the couch.

"What did he so desperately want to talk about?" Jace sits down beside where my feet are.

"Nothing important."

Santiago comes from the kitchen and sits on the other couch but even from here I can smell the smoke from him – or maybe that's just Jace. Eugh, I hate smokers.

"Will one of you give me a ride to Enrico's?"

"I will," Jace says. "I gotta go out anyway."

"Why?"

He screws his face up. "Why are you so nosey?"

"Just curious," I stand up.

"Jace, get me cigarettes," Santi says.

"Why don't you buy them? Oh, that's right. You're too young," Jace pouts and Santiago glares.

"Dude, he's turning eighteen in a couple weeks. Stop bullying my fave." I lift my leg and kick him gently in the stomach. "Let's go already."

"Where?" Alex asks while coming downstairs. Ugh.

"He's just playing as my personal driver." I turn around and walk to the door, opening it but then realise Jace isn't following me. When I turn around, Alex is blocking him with his arm, mumbling something to him as Jace stares sternly at the ground. Finally Alex lets him go and we walk outside, closing the door behind us.

"Geez, what was that about?"

Jace opens the passenger door for me to get in his car. "Nosey."

Smirking, I get into the car. "Curious," I correct.
