Attack
Flare P.O.V.
"What is it, Flare?" Chiron asked.
"I've been having these dreams." I started, wringing my hands together.
I was unsure of how to explain my dreams to Chiron. I know that demigod dreams are usually visions of the future or something like that. That's why I wanted to talk to Chiron. I was worried that my dreams might be visions of the future.
"What do you mean?" He asked, clearly confused.
"Well, I saw Percy, and he was—" I began to explain, but I was cut off by an explosion that rocked the big house.
Our conversation forgotten, Chiron and I rushed outside to see what had happened.
When we got outside, I saw campers fighting monsters. Percy was on the front lines, slashing at every creature he saw. The water danced around him as he moved, suffocating any monster that came close while he was fighting another.
I reached into my boots and pulled out my daggers. From there, I leaped into the fray, fighting, and trying to find my sister. I stabbed a hell hound in the foot—it howled in pain. That's when I heard my sister scream. I quickly slit the hell hound's throat, and I was gone before it even turned to dust. I weaved my way through the fighting bodies, occasionally slashing at a monster I passed. I heard a scream, and I looked to find the source of the cry.
"Ambrosia!" I screamed.
She was lying on the ground—a spear sticking out of her chest. Blood had already soaked her t-shirt, spreading from the spear. She was breathing, but her breaths were more like gasps. I finished off the hellhound I was fighting, and tears had already begun streaming down my face. I ran over to her and collapsed at her side, tentatively taking her hand in mine.
"Please, don't leave me. Please!" I begged, tears streaming down my face, "I can't lose you too. We've already lost our parents. Why do I have to lose you too?"
Ambrosia tried to talk, but it came out as a gurgle, and she coughed up blood. Her skin was getting pale now. I took off my hoodie and tried to staunch the blood seeping out of her chest, but it wasn't helping.
"I- lo-e -ou, si-s." She choked out as she coughed up more blood. She reached a hand up to lay on my shoulder.
"No!" I cried as her body went limp, and her hand fell from my shoulder.
I felt a hand on my shoulder, but I paid it no mind. I leaned over her, cupping her face in my hands as tears streamed down my face.
"I love you too, sis."
Whoever had there hand on my shoulder shook it slightly. The world around me came back into focus, and I heard the sounds of both monsters and campers screaming.
"C'mon Flare. There's still a fight to win."
I look over my shoulder to see Percy. His eyes are the only things that give away any emotion right now. They're watering slightly, and I can tell that Percy is also saddened by Ambrosia's death. Part of me was angry at him. Angry at him for not showing just how sad he was because Ambrosia died. Angry at him for not showing any emotion. A more rational part of me understood that we were in the midst of a battle and that any emotions could distract me and be the cause of my death. I wouldn't be complaining if I died. It'd mean that I'd get to see my sister again.
"Flare?" he asked, shaking my shoulder again.
I wiped my tears off my face and turned to face him. I gave him a sad smile as I stood up. I twirled my daggers in my hands then tightened my grip on them.
"Let's go kick some monster ass. For Ambrosia!" I shouted. My war-cry was echoed across the camp as I charged back into the fray.
