81.

Jin got good news at last.
The supertanker which will pass the frigate Sundew, Jimin knew that one well.

That supertanker fell in a cross war between two pirate ships in the international water near the Mariana trench last year. Jimin was in maritime exercise at that time and met with the captain of the supertanker the day before.

That supertanker from petroleum ULCC company would have been sunk by the torpedo of the pirate destroyer but was saved by Jimin's ship when they stopped that torpedo and chased off the pirate ship and settled the matter.

The captain was intelligent enough not to ask Jimin from which navy he was from and just thanked him back then for his help.

Haenyo and supertanker Coral this time came so close that it was normal that probably the communications were being monitored by the US frigate in their area around.

To evade that problem, Jimin took the help of the Internet.
He got the email address of Coral from the website of Petroleum ULCC company and sent a mail addressing the captain.

After twenty minutes of exchanging emails, the captain of Coral started to Believe that the mail sender was indeed Park Jimin, the captain of the ship that saved his ship before and he just brought his ship Haenyo within thousands of feet of Coral already.

Jimin was regretting the whole time not having Taehyung here this time. He could have hacked the mainframe of the parent's company and ordered that captain directly. In that case, he wouldn't have to convince the captain for this long!
He was having to write time and again what type of help they were gonna need.

A new email was seen now in the inbox.

"Captain Park, I Don't like the matter. I am the captain of The Coral for so many years now. My training is also restraining me from doing this. But I decided to keep your request. For your information, we will pass that frigate from half a mile afar, not closer than that. And I hope you will protect us just like you did before if that frigate starts firing at us.
To me, the safety of my crews comes first. If the ship was out of people, I would not hesitate to help you for once. But I have to think about the safety of my people. Hope you understand.

Regards,
Captain George Adams."

"Thank you," mumbled Jin.

"So, we are starting to play?" Jimin looked at Jin.

"Yes." answered Jin, "we will invade into the defense of the US Frigate. The Coral will be in between two ships. We'll reduce the distance between us and the frigate using the cover of the supertanker. They'll think the supertanker is the only ship there and will let the ship pass them easily. Before Coral can pass them, they'll not even understand how much Haenyo closed into them."

In between his words, Jin typed down an email,

"Captain Adams, you and your crews are helping save the lives of millions of people. Thank you for that. But you have to keep this a secret. If we cast the beam of the Aldis lamp on your bridge, know that we have started our work. We'll be ready within ten minutes, remember.
Once again, thank you."

Jin has spread the schematics of a US-made Cony-class frigate on the tabletop. Everyone was looking at the interior of that frigate. Sung-Ho and ten commandos were pouring their uninterrupted attention on it. All of them were experienced soldiers, will never think twice to die. But Jin knew he'd be more relieved if Yoongi, Si-woo, and Nabi were to do this with him.

The Starboard window was showing the huge superstructure of the Coral. Jimin filled up the ballast tanks of Haenyo and lowered the superstructure of Haenyo even more almost to the water level.

The Coral emptied their ballast tanks and floated above the water surface even more.
Seemed like that ship was as tall as the sky even from this far. The stern had an accommodation block big enough as a whole office building. The blunt chimneys were strout as if some railroad tank car.

Sundew won't be able to see Haenyo with that giant supertanker standing in between them.

"Ok, have a final look," said Jin, "the lower level has this missile pod. We'll go and destroy it. Got it? Any new idea?"

"About our agents." Said Sung-Ho, "heat sensor says, two people are tied there," his finger pointing at the large room in Sundew's schematic map, "the control room."

Nobody disagreed.

Everyone had a uniform of the US navy. Haenyo's disguise specialist supplied the necessary uniform within two hours' notice. They can easily get mixed up with the crews of Sundew when things will turn crazy.

"We'll enter the frigate from here. We will pass two doors, will get down to the lower level using the right stairwell. Then right, left and again right and then final left turn. The chamber will be up ahead. Any questions?"

"If only we don't sink the ship." Added Jimin. We'll just destroy the missile if we decide to spare the ship. Otherwise, we'll rescue our agents and sink the ship along with that missile."

"Many soldiers will be there," one commando commented.

"Maybe," agreed Jin.
"But the moment we start our work, everyone will be scattered around, the hallway will be empty hopefully."

Nobody was saying anything now. Everyone was determined. They knew they may have to die within a few minutes.

"We have faults in our plan." Sung-Ho said with little hesitation, "we don't have any exit strategy. The frigate will attack us as soon as we get separated from them. So we have to divide into two teams. One team will land on the frigate with a satchel charge. Explode the cannons and open weapons system of the frigate as much as you can so that it can't attack back when we will try to escape."

"Right." Jin nodded in approval.
"Any questions again anyone?"

Silence.

"Give attention again," said Jin, "in this plan of Sung-Ho, those who will land with a satchel charge, they'll be the first target of the frigates' primary weapons system."

Jin looked at the schematics once again, ". 30 mm machine gun's bullets will come from four corners of the superstructure. We will see two front machine guns. Let's say we destroy the front guns, but the rear guns will still be there, the body of the frigate will give those cover. That means we will be just priced piece of meat at that moment with thousands of bullet holes in our body."

"What if Hoseok sir flies up with the chopper? Said Sung-Ho, "he can target missile at that remaining two machine guns!"

"SAM will cover the whole frigate." Jimin disagreed, "Haenyo can't go near the frigate at all!"

"What to do then?" one commando asked frowning.
The commandos were exchanging confused looks among themselves.

Jin took away the naval drawing. One map of the Chinuk pass revealed from below it. The southern sea from Haenyo is shown there. Jin pointed at one point at ten miles east, "this is the solution."

Sung-Ho frowned and the whole commandos were watching too.

After half a minute, A cruel smile crept up on Jimin's face, "right, hyung!"

"Brilliant idea!" said Sung-Ho.

"Got it?" Jin looked at the commandos.

All nodded in unison.
Everyone started smiling.

"No more words?" Jin looked around.

"No," came in unison.

"We will bury them naked this time!" Jimin chuckled and bit his tongue immediately remembering the presence of Jin.

"Let's get to position." Jin clapped and everyone broke the circle.

After signaling the captain of The Coral, the captain changed the course of the huge supertanker, now he was going south, towards the frigate changing the previous course and without giving warning to the frigate.

The distance between the two ships lessened in no time. According to the previous course, the supertanker should maintain five miles distance from the frigate, but this time the supertanker closed inwards.

The radio of both ships remained silent even after the supertanker came two miles north and one mile back of the frigate.

Jin was standing in the shadow of the gunwale with a portable handset with every commando with him.

The sun was setting down to the horizon.

"From US frigate Sundew to Tanker, you have come too close to our stern, if you want to go without any harm, you have to get away further. Change your course, or a collision might happen."

The radio finally got alive in supertanker.

"Sundew, I am George Adams, captain of the ULCC Coral. We have caught in a strong current. Our radar has started working just now. Hope we can get away soon from your tail."
The replay was sent from the supertanker.

"Good," the response was stern, "inform us if the problem increases."

Coral's captain was repeating Jin's words which he taught him before and everything was good until now. The captain will continue going towards the frigate, giving Jin enough time.

Ten minutes passed, Sundew kept its previous speed, and the supertanker also didn't slow down. Coral was going half a mile beside the Sundew.

"Coral, Coral, speaking from Sundew," a cold voice spoke, "still facing the problem?"

"One minute," radioed the captain, trying to buy more time for Jin.

Five minutes passed and Sundew again signaled.

"Sorry, should have communicated earlier. The current has increased, but we are getting out of the pull," replied the Coral.

"We didn't feel the current you said about."

"That's because our keel is forty feet below the surface level, besides this ship is huge compared to yours, dear Sundew. Of course, we will face the current stronger than yours."

Good, keep going- chanted Jimin attentively, George Adams was creative at lying.

Jimin talked with the captain before. He'll keep the contact with Sundew every two minutes to evade the suspicion.

Two minutes have passed, and again the radio sounded,
"Sundew, speaking from The Coral. We are sorry. Our steering gear has been compromised. I ordered our engineers to stop immediately, but at this speed, it will take a few miles to stop completely. I calculated that we'll go half a mile afar from your port beam. So change your course and speed and keep going."
The response was sent from the supertanker and the speed of the supertanker wasn't slowing down, still, The only propeller was splashing water at fantail with its most vigor.

Jimin smiled a little. He didn't ask the Captain to tell Sundew this much.
That man took the risk himself. Giving Haenyo the capacity to go even closer to Sundew.

He decided, if they survive this time, he'll find this captain and buy the best drink in the world for him.

Sundew started to take the turn, in a try to gain speed at a short time. But the speed wasn't enough, so it can't go away that fast.

That supertanker shortened Sundew, passing Sundew keeping eighteen-knot speed beside it. The distance between the ships was now only five hundred yards.

"Oh god!" cursed Jimin suddenly.

"What?"

Jimin pointed at a radar blip on the portable screen on his hand, "if my calculation is right, the Trident missile just has been launched from the Sundew!"

"Come again?" Jin looked at Jimin in disbelief. They were late?
After all this time?
What happened?

"The Trident," Jimin again said, disbelief and panic lingering in his voice, "it has been launched!"

Jin felt his world was slowly losing noise. What the hell just happened?
Did he fail them?
How many people will be dead when the Trident would hit South Korea?

His one hand come up to grab his hair in frustration. How?

The commandos were in chaos.

"Hyung?" Jin felt like Jimin's voice came from far away.

"Hyung?" this time Jimin shook Jin's shoulder, "there is something wrong,"

"What's wrong?" Jin frowned.

"The trajectory," Jimin put the radar plot in front of Jin's eyes, "the trajectory of the Trident is weird."

Jin frowned at observing the map for a few seconds and slowly his brows flattened, "don't tell me..."

"If my calculation is correct..." Jimin blinked, "hyung, this Trident isn't gonna hit south Korea. It isn't going anywhere near the shore."

"Then..."

"It is going to come back to Sundew, hyung!" Jimin's voice was confused, "the missile is going to travel a distance and come back to hit Sundew itself. God! What the hell is this?"

"Arya." Jin almost scoffed, "she did this."

"We need to get away from here."
Jimin frowned.

"How much time do we have until the missile comes back?" Jin asked.

"At this speed..." Jimin put some inputs on the radar feed and watched the result, "twenty-five minutes, hyung."

"Tell me a minimum time limit to take away Haenyo to a safe distance from the blast area. How much time will you be needing?"

Jimin again frowned, "Haenyo can gain speed very fast. Still, I will be needing minumum eight minutes, hyung."

Jin clapped to gain the attention of the team, "listen up everyone."

The commandos looked at Jin.

"Change of plans. We'll just rescue our agents. Set your stopwatch. It's 6:28 now, everyone will come back to Haenyo at 6:45 or before. We'll be needing eight minutes to escape from a Trident blast. Anybody left behind should be left behind. Got it?"

"Yes sir!" commandos said in unison.

"Jimin," Jin looked at Jimin, "you have to take the ship away at 6:45, no matter what happens, don't look back and don't wait. Ok?"

"Got it." Jimin shook his head.

"And I have to ask you for a favor this time." Jin's voice was a little low.

"What is it hyung?"

"Promise me, Jimin. You have to promise me that you'll keep it."

Jimin again frowned, "tell me."

One minute later, Jimin went down to the operations center. From now on, he'll handle this ship.

Jin felt the deck of Haenyo start to vibrate. Highly powerful pumps were releasing the waters from the saddle ballast tanks in tremendous force, the speed was raising insanely.

Jimin was in helms. The distance between The Coral and Sundew was only four hundred yards this time. He looked at the weapons console this time. Few lights were on in there. Few doors were pulled up from the side of the ship. Various types of weapons were nakedly displayed on the side of the ship.

Jimin stopped the pump jet and reversed the tremendous current the next moment. Water exploded inside two tubes beside the bow. The speed of Haenyo halted so fast that the stern almost jumped out of the water surface and Haenyo almost jumped out from the cover of coral.
Jimin stopped the reverse and applied the full speed. The cryopumps kept the temperature of the magnetohydrodynamic engines below hundred degrees, so the jets got bonkers for power and the ship almost flew over the sea surface like a racer horse, came out of the cover of supertanker taking the bend at Coral's bow and the ash-colored frigate was just in front of it.

Everyone of Haenyo kept eyes on Sundew. Definitely everyone on Sundew was in a state of shock. Where did this new ship come from without any warning? And where the hell was it all this time? Why didn't the supertanker say that there was another ship nearby!

Sundew took thirty seconds to respond and then the radio started with a warning, "tell us right away what is the name of your ship, or we will open fire."

The same words were said again.
Jimin knew Sundew won't ask the third time. The Sundew was still a little far but they'll be able to shoot cannon on Haenyo.

He saw a ball almost sprang up from the rear end of Sundew. It went above the bow of Haenyo and exploded fifty yards afar from Haenyo. A wave of concussion swept through Haenyo.

"It is a warning shot, hyung," informed Jimin in the in-ear mic set, "the second one will land on Haenyo."

Before his words ended, the second shot landed on the wing bridge of Haenyo and exploded the whole section there.

Jimin jumped out of his seat, "enough!" and looked at the weapons control, "Dal gong-sshi, fire at will!"

The air between these two ships filled with bullets and cannon shots in seconds.
Dal gong started Haenyo's 30 mm Gatling gun. The downforce autocannon screamed. The barrel started to expel orange- fiery tongue tailed after the bullet rains.

The anti-craft guns started battling with the US frigate's main battery. Emptying four clips of ammunition per minute.

Haenyo started ringing like a bell with every hit. AAA rounds were drilling the body of the ship, stopping at the bulkhead behind. The cannons of the deck were destroying Haenyo's everything in their range.

Three cabins were destroyed already, every cannon shot breaking everything in their way. One shot entered the advisors' staff board and the heavy tables and chairs tumbled down. And fire caught on the curtains at once.

The automated fire suppression system got activated and busy at the same time in different areas of the ship.
The fire team was also told strictly to stay put like other crews during the duel.

Haenyo was replying for the cannon shots of Sundew.

Every window of that ship was shattered. The navigation and steering equipment was now just a bundle of garbage after rounds of tungsten bullets in each pilothouse. The bullets caused fire here and there in the armored body of the frigate. In the bullet rain of the Gatling gun, the whole frigate was trembling continuously.

The small caliber won't be able to pierce the turrets, so Dal gong started the 120 mm cannon placed in front of the bow. The stability of that cannon is equivalent to control system M1A2 battle tank, almost 100% efficiency in locking its targets.

The turrets that connected with the deck of Sundew got the first hit of the cannon. The whole thing jumped up and then crumbled down.
The oily mist was still in front of that cannon.

Two ships were attacking and none of them were retreating. Both were made strong to take hits of any kind. Coral made its way out and got out of the range within this time. The sea between Haenyo and Sundew was narrowed down even more this time.

They even didn't need to aim at the target now, the cannon shots hit targets as soon as they got out of the barrels.

Jin with his team was still standing beside the railing in one part. Though that part was triple-reinforced, in front of 30 mm autocannon, they felt like just naked kids.

They never thought they have to engage in this type of naval war any day. But Jin knows, there was no other way.

Rescuing Arya and Jungkook wasn't the only goal. But the main goal was to destroy this frigate. Otherwise, god knows how many times they'd do this thing. How many lives they'd take just for their gain and profit.

Another shot hit the armored plate and then they felt a terrible shake. Haenyo collided beside Sundew.

Jimin adjusted the ballast. Both the ship reached the same height.
Jin took out his compact machine pistol and crossed the railing and landed on Sundew.

One RPG flew above his head, he smelt the smell of the burnt hair on his head. The rocket came from the turret of the stern of Sundew and hit the reinforced railing of Haenyo. Eleven of the commandos started to cross the railing. The intention of the grenadier was fulfilled. Few commandos flew backward, all bloody, wounded, and senseless. It was just luck that the grenade wasn't powerful rather a practice grenade.
Only five of the commandos reached the frigate, but they also didn't have much strength left due to the concussion and grenade wound.

The rest two just dropped on the water due to the shock wave in the narrow sea between two ships.

Jimin saw everything in his closed-circuit camera and pulled Haenyo away from the Sundew. Just hoping that those two commandos didn't crash in between two ships.

Rescue teams were waiting at the boat garage. With Jimin's command, they quickly put down a zodiac in the sea.

One technician moved the camera and started to scan the deck of the Sundew.

"There, they are there!" said Jimin.
Wounded commandos were sitting beside the reinforced railing. In front of them was Kim seokjin, holding a Heckler and Kotch machine pistol.

The man who was reloading the rocket launcher got a third eye in his forehead by a perfect shot from Jin's gun.

It seemed like Jin knew that Jimin was watching him with the camera.
He looked back and nodded a little and then started to run.
His aim was the hatchway of the US frigate.
