Jin waited for a while before a response came from inside the room.
"Who is it?"
"Courier for you," Jin answered.
The door revealed a little crack to reveal a powered glass-aged man behind it.
"Give it to me."
Jin didn't move.
The door opened a little further to allow Jin to reach him.
Seeing Jin barehanded, he instantly tried to shut the door but before he could do it, Jin inserted one of his legs in between the door and the doorframe.
Arya, who was standing against the wall out of sight of the person, now shoved the door open with her shoulder and went in.
Jin followed her and shut the door behind.
The person was already in a hands-up position, now he trembled, "don't shoot!"
"Hello, professor! We met again!" Arya smiled cheekily.
"You...you...!" He stuttered.
"See? Not dead." Arya shrugged a little, and pointed him towards a sofa with her Beretta .22, "sit down. Let's have a chat."
The older male complied quietly and asked, "what do you want?"
"Isn't it obvious?" Arya looked around the house and looked at Jin who was also looking around the house intently.
He quietly took out a debugging device and went around the house slowly.
Arya looked at the professor and put a finger on her lips indicating him to shut up.
After five minutes, Jin came back with six tiny transmitters they call bugs. These are planted on the house to keep a watch over him.
Jin put those down on the floor and crashed those with his feet.
Completing his actions, he looked at Arya, "all clear."
Arya nodded slightly, satisfied.
"Professor, you know why we have come. Let's get to the business, shall we?"
"I don't know what you are talking about!" He opened his mouth for the first time since entering the room.
"The documents." Arya smiled, "I gave you those to safekeeping for me."
"There has been a mistake of course. What document? I don't know about any." He was trembling.
"It's fun to see how you are so afraid of dying yet you chose to play dumb." Arya sighed a little, getting a little irritated.
"They told me that you....they chased...." the professor stuttered under the gun.
"Yes, you are not seeing ghosts!" Arya was annoyed, "I am alive and kicking!"
"AA3," Jin calmly called out for Arya, careful to not speak out the real name in front of an enemy.
"What?"
"Are you that type of hacker that people can trace you instantly when you hacked those documents?"
A crease appeared in between Arya's brows.
"I am not! I wouldn't want to blow my covers after I worked so hard to get the position I had here just for some documents!"
"So, why'd you get caught?" Jin questioned her, knowing the answer to his question.
Arya's eyes become cold for the first time. She looked back at the professor, her voice was cold as ice,
"They didn't catch me. It was you who reported to me. Didn't you?"
"I don't know what you are talking about!" The professor's voice was laced with alertness.
"Nice." Arya scoffed sarcastically and shifted towards the professor like a flash of the bolt. The Beretta got cocked and the muzzle pressed to the side of his temple in an instant. Before she could press the trigger, Jin shoved her hand away from that person.
The shot was missed, but it was a shot nonetheless.
Arya looked back at Jin with fire in her eyes. "Don't meddle in for fuck's sake!"
"Calm down." Jin's voice was alerted.
"Are you kidding me?" Arya shouted in annoyance, "you're fucking kidding me!"
"Control yourself." His voice was calm yet hurried.
"Control? He is the reason my whole life got fucked up! Do you know how frustrating it is to not know anything that you are doing but running from death like a primal animal?"
Her voice was furious, still trying to get her hands out of his hold.
"I do."
"Do you?" Arya let out another sarcastic laugh, "he is the reason I am stuck here with an unreasonably stubborn, cold motherfucker like you! What do you have to say about that?"
"You shot a fire, police will be here, get yourself together." Even though they were almost getting caught, his voice was as indifferent as ever.
Arya jerked away her hand from his grip and caught the collar of the trembling professor and hissed,
"Where are the documents? Don't expect you are gonna get away if police are here. I am gonna kill you if you don't tell me where those are even if I get caught. You hear me?"
Hearing the seething voice of Arya which was burning with insatiable wrath now, he managed to nod his head a little.
"Where are those?"
"My...my laptop. It's in the library."
Arya looked at Jin. Jin hastily moved towards the library without any words.
He came back with the Laptop and looked at Arya who was still intensely staring at the professor with killing intent in her eyes.
"Let's go." Hearing Jin's voice, Arya lowered her weapon and looked at Jin.
Out of the blue, the glasses of the windows all shattered at once.
"Get down!" Jin shouted at the top of his lungs before diving behind the couch.
Arya held her ears lying on the floor and felt the shattering of the flower vases and the cracking of the furniture in the heavy rains of the bullets coming from the outside.
Luckily she laid flat on her stomach in milliseconds after hearing the gunshots.
But the professor wasn't that lucky. Almost fifty bullets pierced him at once within minutes before he collapsed on the ground.
The display of the laptop was already gone, it was cramped on the floor like shattered junk.
Arya crawled towards it and started to rummage through the shattered junk.
"Arya! Get back!" Jin shouted towards her.
Arya didn't seem like she was giving him any heed. Jin didn't wait any longer, he brought out his smith and Wesson and fired back without even looking at what was outside. The fire from outside stopped for a second and Arya rolled out of the range and took cover behind the couch.
"Stupid...!" Jin didn't finish his words towards Arya.
By the sound of the machine gun outside and the pattern of the bullets in the wall, he was certain they were surrounded by an elite team with very strong weapons. Fighting back with a handgun was like fighting with a beehive with a slingshot.
"Stay here." He suddenly remembered something and crawled towards the library and came back with a type 73 light machine gun. The gun was flawed, the safety catch was nowhere to be found. The professor was probably working on it on his own.
Arya's eyes brightened seeing the weapon in his hand.
"What are you planning?" Arya shouted above the deafening sound of continuous fire from outside.
"Get out from the back door, now." Jin's voice was calmer now.
"No!" Arya instantly protested. If Jin was planning on holding them back with this gun to give her time to escape, she was not gonna buy it.
"Go." His voice was commanding.
"I'm not leaving you here! No way!" Arya vigorously shook her head.
"Trust me. Now go." His voice was indifferent.
Arya looked at him for a few seconds and then crawled towards the back of the house, into the kitchen.
Jin hurriedly took off his one shoelace, tied the trigger with the trigger guard, placed the machine gun on the top of the sofa, and made sure that it won't trip due to recoil force.
Glancing one last time at the window, he turned the hammer down with a punch and almost threw himself out of the line of fire. He crawled back towards the kitchen and got up.
As the safety catch wasn't on the gun, nothing was stopping the bullets anymore as the trigger was now being pressed the whole time. A sudden surge of bullets from inside the house took the elite force outside off guard, they hurried to take cover. But the bullets were not stopping to give them chance to get out of the cover. So they patiently waited for the bullets to run out.
In the kitchen, Arya helped Jin to get up. A ripple of relief surged through her whole body.
"You should tell me next time what are you planning." She almost shouted, "I thought you decided to cover for me you fool!"
"How many are there?" Jin didn't budge from her outburst
Arya indicated to him towards the tiny vent beside the kitchen, "five."
Jin quickly took glances through it to see the positions of the enemy and brought out his gun and looked at Arya, "left three are mine."
Arya shrugged a little and reminded him, "the garage is right beside the kitchen, I saw an Achimkoy in there!"
Jin nodded in acknowledgment, "let's do it."
Jin carefully opened the backdoor and instantly two of them sprinted out and dived to the opposite side of the door.
The five bodies collapse a few seconds later, both of them took them by surprise.
"Cover me." Arya sprinted toward the garage, an almost new Achimkoy five-seater sedan was in there.
The side window beside the drivers' seat was shattered with a collision with the gun's butt and she opened the door inserting the hand in the car through the broken glass. She got into the driver's seat and grabbed and snatched out the ignition wires and started the engine within less than a minute and releasing the clutch and putting the pressure on the gas paddle, she brought out the car from the garage like a crazy animal. She opened the passenger side door and Jin got into it in no time.
She turned the steering wheel like crazy.
Smashing the flower bed into pulp, losing one hinge of the iron gate, and destroying the headlight of the car, Arya brought the car out of the yard, into the alley.
"Go right," Jin shouted grabbing the seat to steady himself. On the left of the road, there was a barricade formed by a few cars.
Arya struggled with the wheel like a machine.
The car drifted in place. The rear wheels couldn't grip the ground and slipped on the road and smashed the rear end of the car to the adjacent wall.
The windshield and the rear glass shattered in an instance. The bonnet and trunk both cramped terribly, the fender loosened and hung in there.
The car spun 180 degrees with sparks of fire and the sound of steel colliding with concrete.
A swarm of bullets came from behind, shattering the back view mirror and rear glass.
"Duck!" Jin shouted before lowering his head.
The smooth body of the sedan was already appearing honeycomb structures in it with bullet holes, the soft seats inside were now scattering foam and feathers with the bullets stabbing through them.
Arya was already half down from her seat, raising her head to look outside, she shouted, "there's is another fucking roadblock here!"
"Change the seat." Jin instantly got up.
Arya hesitated for a second then exchanged the seat with him in a moment. Gripping on the steering wheel, Jin seethed, "Cover fire."
Arya didn't waste any time and fired back through the rear window.
Jin's eyes were in the roadblock ahead. There was no second squad nearby, probably they thought these two wouldn't make out of there alive.
They made the block by keeping two police cruisers face to face making a lock.
"Arya, hold onto something," Jin instructed in a serious tone.
Arya complied without a single word, Jin fastened his seatbelt and grabbed the steering wheel tightly.
Changing the gear into third, he took a deep breath and pressed down the escalator as hard as he can. The car jumped forward like a wild horse, crossed the distance between the cars in a second, and collided directly with the front door of the right-sided cruiser. The bonnet of the sedan almost intruded in the body besides the bonnet of the second cruiser. The first cruiser slid a little to the right and the sedan pushed the second one to the left. Sedan's trunk intruded through the slight gap created in between the cruiser. Jin brought out the sedan to the opposite side with back gear and turned the car one-eighty degrees and stomped on the accelerator.
Fleeing the scene as fast as he can.
With the sudden reduction of the pressure from the seatbelt on the chest, Arya finally released the breath she was holding. Touching the part in her forehead which is now bloody with a cut from the shattered glass, she finally asked, "Jin? Are you ok?"
"Mnn." Jin nodded a little and looked back through the rear window and increased the pressure on the gas peddle.
"They are tailing behind." Arya reported and looked back towards Jin and gasped, "God! That's a lot of blood! You have been shot!!"
