17.

Wang Chao went into the wheelhouse at the dawn. Arya was writing the readings on the logbook.

"Enough, go take some rest. I'll ask for you if I need any help."

This time Arya didn't argue and got up without any words.

After she had left, wang Chao navigated the boat in a constant direction seeing the readings on the logbook, and then he reeled out the small net behind the hull. The sun was up into the horizon for some time now. Warm, comfortable salty breeze and golden rays were dissipating slowly on the pale discolored deck. The pleasant breeze of the South China sea was whacking on the white sails on the twin mast.

Few sea birds were hovering over the pull-pit. Seagulls were crying from the distance.
A Dwarf Dolphin suddenly emerged near the hull and let some steams off with its water sprinkles.

One by one, its peers started to surface beside it.
They came for company. Playing around, poking one another with their blunt snouts, jumping out of the water once in a while with the inherited smiley faces of theirs.

The wind was getting stronger, the golden sun was sparkling on the wet wings of the flying fishes. The sea appeared transparent as if it turned into a blue-green liquid light. Tiny waves were crashing on the body of the boat, creating the melody of any first-class orchestra concert.

Wang Chao was looking with amazed eyes, he never got tired of this beauty- his first love. The sea.

He sniffed the salty air and smiled contently, "Nice day!"

Suddenly it caught his eyes. Diving gears with scuba jet. High quality. Where the hell did they come from? Did that girl put those there?
A frown formed between his eyebrows. But instantly he remembered her words, "Go there, sell your fishes, and come back, ALONE."

He can assume what she wants actually, it never was her plan to go to the island. Previously she asked the distance of the island from the mainland. It's clear she is wanting to go to the mainland of North Korea, but why this secrecy?

He didn't see her get tired, she is playful yet calm and confident. Her words are cocky yet caring. She has a kind heart, he can feel that this girl quite liked him.

He is now understanding his role in it too. She needs a cover.

If he makes it out alive this time, probably he won't have to work this much for the days to come. He won't have to give away almost the whole amount of the money he makes to the mortgage. The amount of interest is increasing day by day, but he still can't pay up the actual price of it. Probably this time, he can pay up the whole in one go, make up the loans too.
The amount the girl paid him, will cover all the expenses, and even if he is lucky enough, he can still save some amount if he spends them wisely.

Then he can do some repair works for his house and the boat and start to work again independently. When he can make some money by saving it with a small amount at a time, probably after two to three years, he can send his elder girl to Paris. She has a passion for studying music there. She majored in music in high school but couldn't proceed further into uni and almost gave up and found a job in the local cafe to support her fragile family.

A small house near the seashore, a white swan-like fishing boat on the deck, children playing around under the soft sun on the lawn- he started daydreaming and suddenly a concern started to show in his mind for the girl who made him able to dream again. The more vivid the future was looking, the more he was feeling thankful to the girl, a surge of affection suddenly embraced him for her. Of course, he will help this girl. And he knelt to the deck and clasped his palms together, "God, please, help this kid."

They both worked on the sixth day too. Arya made Wang Chao go to sleep and went to the wheelhouse.
She was tired, but still needed things to do. After dinner, she took a small nap and again came back to the wheelhouse. Using compass bearing, she mapped a course from the island to the mainland.

While doing that, a long shadow entered the door, she looked back.

"We are close to the port. It will take an hour from here."

Arya looked into his eyes and softly spoke, "If you get into trouble on the island, believe me, I won't forget you. I'll get you out."

"I believe you. But why?" Wang Chao tried to smile.

"I don't know." She shrugged a little.
"Probably you'll remain vivid as the only person who treated me this kindly without judging or trying to kill me in this timeline as long as I can recall." She looked at the logbook again, "I charted everything here, hope this would help."

Wang Chao remained silent for some time and then came and took her to an affectionate embrace and said softly, "be safe there, child."

Arya sighed and nodded and got rid of him and went out.
She came back after ten minutes and ordered, "head towards the port slowly."

"Aye," he adjusted the speed and walked towards her.

Her lean and slim body in the black wetsuit was looking like a sea marlin. Elegant and powerful.

He helped her to wear the aqualungs. She slipped into the flippers after that. She strapped a medium waterproof bag with the scuba jet and lowered it down into the water. Following the scuba jet, she also dived into the water flawlessly almost without any splashes.

After marking her direction and starting the scuba jet, she came closer to the boat and looked upwards to Wang Chao who was leaning down the railings there.

Smiling, she touched his hand, "I hope we will meet again, someday, somewhere far from this situation."

"You are always welcome in my home." Wang Chao also smiled.

"Bye." She nodded.

"Be careful from the Barracudas."

She nodded again and pulled down the goggles and the mask over her face and dived under the water using the scuba jet.

The powerful turbine of the tiny motor took her towards a northwestern course under the eight fathom of water. She just grabbed the handguard lightly and let her body be dragged by the motor.

It was a starry night with a clear constellation above. But it wasn't any less beneath. The sea under her was another cosmos with numerous luminous fishes with their ethereal tiny lights. Some of them were annoyed with the intruder in their world. Arya was stunned, amazingly looking around seeing a whole new world unfolding itself around her. But she felt a wave of loneliness suddenly enveloped by millions of lives around.

A swordfish and a swarm of Mullets gave her company for almost an hour. Then came a huge squid. Arya didn't panic. She knew this squid can't stay away from the icy pacific current for too long. The plate-sized greenish eyes of the squid disappeared behind her after almost half an hour more. A swarm of Garnered and silver-blue angelfish swam under her body slowly the whole time.

Almost at the end, two ugly faces of Barracuda were seen under the dim light of the luminous fish. She took out her dagger slowly from her weight belt this time. These fishes are the nastiest creatures of the sea, even nastier than the sharks.
But those two also disappeared from the vicinity.

Another hour passed by, the air in the bottle was almost at the end. Entering the northern Atlantic current, she surfaced above the sea. Wanted to save the air as much as she can and turned off the breathing tube. As Wang Chao said, after almost a two and half hour journey from the boat, the tiny lights on the horizon came into the vision towards the northwest. If she goes another three miles towards the west to the coast, she'll find a forest here and that's her destination right now.

When she first stepped on North Korea's land after emerging from the sea, she was already tired from dehydration and constant fighting with the sea waves and salty water.

The long beach was gleaming under the moonlight. The waves were crashing on the shore with the shy moon lighting the sky. She may have enjoyed it any other time, but this time, she was alert to the most.
the Ursa major in the night sky was in its full show with trillions of tiny sparkles of the stars.

The palm leaves were making a shrill murmur in the light breeze with the sounds of the crashing waves.

Arya opened her waterproof bag and changed her wetsuit. The diving gear, aqualung, scuba jet, and everything went back into the bag and were buried under the sands in no time.

She didn't take time to disguise herself, all the legal documents she needed were in her hands. Spending money in the right place can achieve you the impossibles and whatever you want. So the passport and the touring permit from the military or whatever she needed here were at her hands now.

After taking the disguise, she managed to make herself dragged another two miles on foot and took shelter on a cheap tourist hotel stating she got lost and separated from her group while coming here.
And after many days, she rested at ease.
