AFTER THE GREAT WAR, Rose Salvage did not stand to stay in France and live in the devastated country she once called home. Many of the men she knew did not come back, and those who did, did so only in body. Everything was in ruins, but nothing more than her heart, scarred from all those she had lost and all she had seen.

Outraged by the fate of her people and with an unending will to strive and succeed, she offers the Lost Generation a way by promising them a future somewhere else, no matter the cost.

Driven by her ambition and seeing her has their last hope, many of her acquaintances agree, and that's how Rose sails away to Britain with her family and a group of loyal men, ready to embrace the spirit of the Roaring Twenties. They settle in London, where Rose decides to honor her father's legacy and put everything he and her brothers taught her to good use.

Using their leader's wits, charm and deadly methods, they cautiously make a name for themselves, not wanting to attract the attention or the wrath of the many criminal families that proliferate in England.

The French Kissers, as they become known, do not have any desire to make enemies or take others' place. They don't get dragged into war gangs. They don't barge into others' territory or commit senseless acts of violence. They act in the shadows, pulling the strings others can't see. Their conquers are silent but crucial. They're everywhere, successfully infiltrating other groups and organizations without drawing suspicion.

Rivals, clients and business partners don't even suspect behind every man in the gang there's a woman just as lethal.

And above all, nobody knows who leads them.

That is, until the Peaky Blinder from Birmingham, Thomas Shelby, decides to find out.
