Akkala (Ah-kahl-la)
Akkala is the second-smallest province in Hyrule, taking about five days to travel both north and south and east and west. It's situated in the southwest and was originally a part of Faron, but it was separated due to the Kokiri tribe wanting nothing to do with Hyrule. Akkala is still part of Hyrule for the sake of protection, but the Kokiri operate separately from Hyrule. The Great Hyrule Forest encompasses the entirety of this province, home to not only the Kokiri tribe but Grass, Fairy, Ghost, and some Normal Pokémon.

Aura (Or-ah)
Auras are the energy that every living being gives off. They vary in color and intensity depending on the being's mood, even radiating the vibes—the intensity of which also vary depending on the strength of the emotion—that the being is feeling at that moment. Aura is also the collective name given to a group of skills that include seeing and sensing auras along with being able to manipulate their energy. Pokémon like Lucario and Riolu are natural Aura users, easily able to manipulate it for their own means. Some humans are gifted with Aura as well, though the skills can also be taught by another Aura user.

Central (Cen-tral)
The province situated in the heart of Hyrule Kingdom. Central houses several notable landmarks consisting of the large trade town Clock Town, the Temple of Hylia, and the illustrious capital Castle City. The land here is similar to Ordon's with even fewer forests and bodies of water. It takes a week and a half to travel in all cardinal directions, and Pokémon of Normal and Psychic types live here.

Deku (Deh-koo)
The Deku are small creatures with bodies of wood, green or orange leaves covering their heads, and small feet and arms. They also have glowing yellow eyes. They live just past the southern Faron border in the Deku Kingdom. The little kingdom is allied with Hyrule Kingdom for protection in exchange for resources and their knowledge in plant-based medicine.

Din (D-inn)
The goddess of fire, earth, and power. She is depicted as a muscular, broad-shouldered woman in red. She was said to have created the earth and left behind the Triforce of Power once her task was complete.

Eldin (El-din)
The northernmost province of Hyrule. It's a region dominated by the Death Mountain range, with its namesake being an inactive volcano. The Goron people as well as many Rock, Dragon, Ground, Fighting, and Fire Pokémon find the warmer temperatures along with the rocky landscape quite livable and comfortable. It takes three weeks to traverse this province from east to west and two to travel it north to south.

Fairy (Fair-ee)
Winged beings who look Hylian in appearance. They emit many differently-colored glows that tend to obscure their appearances except for their wings, which come in varying shapes. They act as guides and watchers of the Kokiri, who they call their "charges."

Faron (Fair-on)
The southernmost of Hyrule's provinces and the gateway to the Deku Kingdom. Forest covers most of this province, becoming more swamp-like farther south. Humidity hangs thick among the trees, adored by the Grass, Water, and Bug-type Pokémon that call this province home. The beautiful Lake Floria sits in this province's center, making it a popular tourist spot for those willing to stand the humidity. It takes a week to travel north to south and another east to west.

Farore (Fah-roar)
The goddess of nature, fertility, beauty, and courage. She is depicted as a curvaceous, generously-proportioned woman in green. After Din created the earth, Farore populated it with life. She had left behind the Triforce of Courage once her task was complete.

Gerudic (Grr-oo-dic)
The language of the Gerudo. Usage of "r"s and "v"s is common in spelling, and it's spoken with rolls of the tongue in a smooth manner.

Gerudo (Grr-oo-doh)
Desert-dwelling peoples who nomadically wandered the wastes of the western deserts before settling down. This region is now known as the Gerudo Province. The Gerudo are fierce and intimidating, and this reflects in their general appearance. Gerudo are usually between six or seven feet tall with well-muscled bodies, prominent and pointed noses, pointed ears, dark skin, fiery red hair, and amber eyes.

Gerudo [Province] (Grr-oo-doh)
This western province used to be separate from Hyrule Kingdom, as it was the Gerudo Kingdom. But the Gerudo's monarchy was mostly dissolved when the two kingdoms became one. Remnants of the Gerudo royal family live in Gerudo City, the one large civilization among the desert that covers this province. Steel, Ground, Rock, Ghost, and some Electric-type Pokémon live alongside this province's mostly-Gerudic populous. The Gerudo Province is one of the largest; it takes three weeks to travel east to west and two north and south.

Goron (Gore-on)
Bulky, muscled creatures typically standing at five to six feet tall with small black eyes, rough skin that's akin to weathered stone, and literal chunks of rock that cover their backs like shells. Despite their appearances, they're known for their welcoming and jolly natures. They inhabit the Eldin Province as well as the north border of Necluda. Their immense strength and knowledge on ore has earned them jobs as builders and blacksmiths. Their language's name is pronounced the same as their race, and it's spoken gruffly and bluntly.

Holder (Hole-durr)
Three select beings who hold the power of a piece of the Triforce and are able to wield their piece's divine magic. They're respectively known as the Holders of Power, Wisdom, and Courage.

Hylia (Hy-lea)
The goddess of light, purity, and spirit. She is depicted as a young woman with long blonde hair, blue eyes, and is dressed in white. She was said to have been the first being in the universe and had created the goddesses Din, Farore, and Nayru. Some stories say she had given up her divinity to become mortal for the span of a few centuries, and her blessed blood still runs in the female descendants of the Hyrule Royal Family.

Hylian (Hy-lee-en)
Hylians were the founders of Hyrule Kingdom. As such, they inhabit every province except for Eldin, granted, they would have to take proper measures to ensure their survival. Hylians are between four and a half, and six and a half feet tall. They have every natural skin tone and eye color imaginable along with pointed ears. Their language is pronounced the same as their race's name, and it's considered the most commonly spoken language in the kingdom.

Hyrule (High-rule)
Founded by the Hylian Hyrule family, this kingdom has stood for countless millennia. It's made up of nine provinces: Eldin, Lanayru, Faron, Gerudo, Ordon, Akkala, Necluda, and Ikana. They all encircle the Central Province in a clock-like manner. The four cardinal points are marked by Eldin in the north, Lanayru in the east, Faron in the south, and Gerudo in the west. The terrain varies from sandy beaches and deserts to steep cliffs, large forests, swamps, plains, and even a volcano in northern Eldin.

Hyrule-Deku Border Agreement
An agreement forged between the kingdoms of Hyrule and Deku alongside the Hyrule-Deku Treaty. It states that citizens of either kingdom cannot come within fifty yards of the other kingdom's border without strict permission.

Hyrule-Deku Treaty
A treaty forged between the kingdoms of Hyrule and Deku two years into King Daemos' reign. It includes a vow of alliance, protection, and nonaggression without a cause, and it also grants each kingdom access to the other's resources.

Ikana (Ee-kahn-ah)
Ikana is Hyrule's smallest province. It takes merely a few days to travel in all cardinal directions and is home to Arbiter City as well as Hyrule's largest prison, known as the Arbiter's Grounds. The rocky landscape—remnants of the Death Mountain Range—around Arbiter City contains a large slum where many released criminals dwell. Dark, Fire, Poison, Electric, and some Rock Pokémon call this province home along with its mixed Hylian, Gerudic, and Goron population.

Kokiri (Koe-keer-ee)
Also known as Fairy Children or Children of the Forest, these odd beings inhabit deep Great Hyrule Forest in the Akkala Province. Despite looking like children no older than twelve, some are centuries old. The secondary title of Fairy Children may come from the fact that their very existence is magical, or that on the rare few times they've been sighted, they had a fairy close by.

Lanayru (La-nay-roo)
This province, home to Water, Ice, Ground, and Fairy-type Pokémon, borders most of Hyrule's east coast. Its most notable feature besides being the gateway to Zora's Domain is Seres City, Hyrule's largest city. The land is mostly flat and grassy, growing rockier the closer one gets to the coast. It takes about a week to traverse this province east to west and two weeks north to south.

Luminous stones (loo-min-us st-own-ez)
Stones that can be found in the caves of Zora's Domain as well as the cliffs of southern Necluda. When in darkness—the darker, the better—these stones give off glows of varying color, though blue is the most common, and are used for both decoration and as light sources.

Nayru (Nay-roo)
The goddess of law, order, balance, and wisdom. After Din and Farore had created and populated the earth, she brought law to the newly-created beings. She is depicted as a tall, willowy woman in blue. She had left behind the Triforce of Wisdom once her task was complete.

Necluda (Neh-clue-dah)
This province is in the northeast and contains a great part of the Death Mountain range, making for a landscape made of steep and smooth cliffs, forests, and ocasional lakes. The Rito live among the cliffs alongside Flying, Rock, and Ground Pokémon while the elusive Sheikah tribe lives in the forests with Dark, Poison, Ghost, and a select number of Fighting-type Pokémon. Water-types also dwell on the coastal edge, though only the ones that can make their home among rocky beaches, steep cliffs, and very deep waters. This makes Necluda the province with the most varied Pokémon population in Hyrule. It's a two-week trip north and south as well as east and west.

Ordon (Or-don)
Ordon is situated in the southeast between Faron and Lanayru and is Hyrule's hub for farming and ranching with its mostly flat landscape and fertile soils. It rivals the Gerudo Province in size, taking three weeks to traverse north and south and two east and west. Various Grass, Flying, and Electric-type Pokémon dwell here along with a few Water and Fighting-types who were brought in to help with crop maintenance.

Overseer (Over-see-er)
A group of five beings (also known as Farore's Watchers) tasked with guarding the blade of evil's bane—the Master Sword—and four of Hyrule's oldest temples. This group consists of an Aegislash, Virizion, Keldeo, Cobalion, and Terrakion. Their role is evidenced by a Triforce-shaped marking somewhere on their bodies.

Pokémon (Poe-kay-mon)
Mysterious, mostly intelligent beings that come in all shapes and sizes. They are capable of manipulating the elements as well as other facets of nature, being categorized into eighteen distinct types.

Rito (Ree-toe)
The Rito are a somewhat nomadic people who resemble a large bird of prey. Their eyes are large, their beaks can be either pointed or curved, and their feet are talons. They have wings that let them be fully capable of flight, are adapt at catching updrafts to help them ascend, and they double as hands. They've settled in Necluda and the western edges of the Central Hyrule Province. They act as Hyrule's managers of postage.

Ritoian (Ree-toe-ian)
The language of the Rito. One who is adapt at whistling and/or singing can easily learn this language, as many words and phrases sound like bird calls. But for as many melodic-sounding words as there are, there's just as many harsh ones.

Rupee (Roo-pee)
Rupees are Hyrule's currency, having the appearance of small, elongated diamonds. They come in seven colors with different amounts pertaining to each of them. The colors are green, blue, yellow, red, purple, silver, and gold, and the amounts are one, five, ten, twenty, fifty, one-hundred, and three-hundred.

Sheikah (She-kah)
An offshoot of Hylians, Sheikah may have the same body structure, varying skin tone, and pointed ears as their founding cousins, but their appearances are more uniform. They always have white hair and blood-red eyes. In ages past, the Sheikah acted as personal bodyguards, spies, and even assassins for the Hyrule Royal Family. It was said that they once had secretly developed technology so advanced that it could have easily destroyed the entire kingdom, but this claim was chalked up to mere myth and rumor.

Trainer (Tray-ner)
People who are traveling with Pokémon on journeys of enlightenment or self-discovery. Trainers are seen with anywhere from one to six Pokémon, all depending on the size of the Pokémon and how mobile they are. Some parents see this as a way for their children to find their own paths in life if they haven't yet, so they encourage their children to become Trainers.

Triforce (Try-force)
A divine artifact left behind by the goddesses Din, Nayru, and Farore that can grant almost any wish. It's made up of three golden triangles with an upside-down triangular gap in the center. These pieces are known as the Triforces of Power, Wisdom, and Courage.

Zora (Z-or-ah)
The Zora are oceanic creatures with humanoid bodies but fishlike features. Like fish, they have fins and scales whose colors range in a wide variety. They live east of the Lanayru Province out in the ocean in a kingdom of their own known as Zora's Domain. But due to the Domain's puny size, the Hyrule Royal Family agreed to help defend it and ensure its prosperity if the Zora would help do the same for Hyrule. They have been close allies ever since.

Zoran (Z-or-ann)
The language of the Zora. It's spoken softly and very smoothly, appropriately described by the other races as "like free-running water."
