The Blood Of Old
There is a world beyond ours.
A world that is
far away,
nearby and
invisible

It's been two days since we arrived in Japan. Luckily they let us see our daughter quickly upon arrival. At first, I thought they wanted us to make sure she wasn't going to release her power while unconscious. Which is ridiculous. I stared at my daughter's sleeping face, my baby, my only child. I started thinking if there was something we could have done differently, maybe if we raised her in another manner, this wouldn't have happened.
"Don't think that dear." Looking at my husband, his head was low, knowing the things I was feeling. "We did our best. Not every parent has to raise a high-powered child like her. So we were challenged and honestly, I think we did okay. She lived longer than the doctors said she would. Made living teaching others about control. Only hurt a few people in her life but had her first full release only now. We did well. I feel in my bones that we did well." Nodding my head, he was right. We had no idea what to do and did the best we could. He was right, we did well.

The door to her room opened and in came a beast-man. We were shocked to see someone else with similar features to our own. He had a muzzle on, which didn't sit right with me. In his hands was a small Bouquet of lilacs with a single red rose in the center. He lowered his head, showing us he was not a threat to her.
"Hello. My name is Ryo, I'm a counselor at UA and a pro hero. I've met with Sirius a few times before the incident. I came to drop these off and to see how she's doing," his voice was clear as a cloudless day, even with the muzzle on.
"I am Kaira, her mother. This is Joeal, her father. Thank you for coming to visit her," he bowed his head in respect for us both. I allowed him to come closer and see her face, his eyes seemed to check over every little detail. Just to be sure there weren't any leftover injuries. He seemed very sad that she wasn't awake yet, everyone was but it seemed to bring him greater sorrow. He looked up and caught us both staring.
"You must forgive us. We haven't seen another Breast quirk as advanced as yours for a long time," Hound only nodded his head with a faint smile on his face.
"She said the same. When we first met, she acted as if she'd never seen another like herself, besides her parents. So she was ecstatic to meet me. I was also overjoyed to meet her. She has this aura about her that I just can't get enough of." We smiled, as we knew it was the same for us when we first met. He was in love with her.
"I'm sure you have questions, those other people sure did but we didn't feel comfortable talking to them," I looked at my husband as he felt the same.
"We could tell they didn't have our daughter's best interest in mind. But that, they were afraid of her."
"Well, I can go and ask for a list?"
"No, we know what they want. But we'll only give you the answers," Hound nodded his head as he took a seat. I looked at my sleeping daughter, wondering if we were doing the right thing.
"We come from an old bloodline," Joeal decided to start it off. "We have always been hunters. Master trackers, along with other things. We were part of a tribe that lived as one with the world. And I don't mean, they were nomads but something more connected. Long ago they decided a new child, just recently born, that had these glowing marks on their skin. Only under direct moonlight will they glow. They perceived the child to be a blessing for the nightly heavens above. She was blessed with the power of night. She could create a light of stars and use that light to do many things. Heal wounds, grow plants, purify waters even. Her power, however, came at a price, as all things do. It shorted her life. At the time our people lived long into the eighties but, she died shortly after her 10th birthday. No one knew the cause, just watched as one minute she was there smiling and seemingly at peace than she vanished into stardust."
"She was the first of many to come. So many children died over the years because they inherited this power. But only from that one bloodline, mine," Kaira looked over to her daughter. "Only daughters are affected. So far as we know from historical records, Sirius is the only one to survive to the age of ten. So you can see who we only want to speak to someone who has her best interest in mind."
"I understand completely. I didn't know about that, she never mentioned it," he gazed at her and softly smiled.
"It's not something she can bring up in casual conversations," Joeal sighed as he held his wife's hand. "So, the Commission wanted to know if she was a threat. No, when her power is under control. There's no threat. But with her Beast-like instincts, she will act as a Mother and protect those she deems as her own. The students, for instance, she would kill to protect them. That's why she released such a deadly move. She was protecting the student's futures. By getting rid of the League in one go, they would only have a few more problems to worry about. Sirius will defend her students with her last breath if that's what it took."
Hound nodded his head in agreement. He understood more about her. Looking at her sleeping form, even under these circumstances, she looked at peace. Reaching for her hand, hoping she could feel him beside her. Moments later, she gripped his hand tighter.
"Sirius, can you hear me?" He leaned over her, alongside her parents. Her eyes slowly opened, wincing due to the bright light above her.
"My little star," Kaira called out as she leaped onto her daughter, hugging her tightly. "I was so worried about you. Don't even do that again." Her mother started crying into Sirius's fur, she gave a weak smile and returned the hug.
"Sorry but I had too." She smiled at her father as he watched with a soft expression.
"We're just happy you're okay."He smiled with tears running down his face. "I was so scared." Sirius looked to her left to see Ryo, she was shocked for a moment but her expression soften to a gentle smile.
"So you wanted to meet my parents this early on huh?" Ryo blushed deeply.
"Uhhh no, well yes. Not yet but some day. I was worried about you, that's all." He sat down, looking at his hands that still held the flowers. "I was really worried." A hand covered his, it's warmth engulfed him in a golden light.
"I'm so happy to see you. And I'm sorry to have worried all of you." She slowly sat up and smiled at them all. Immediately calming them with her warm glow.
