Naruto watched in admiration as Sasuke fed the giraffe. The two of them spent the entire evening at the zoo and Naruto couldn't imagine coming here with anyone else. Let this have been four months ago and Naruto would still be in Shikamaru's face and getting on the lazy guys nerves as always. But now, now he has Sasuke. Someone who wouldn't, no, couldn't get tired nor annoyed by the blonde even if he wanted to. And that alone made Naruto the happiest man on earth.
He was falling hard for the Raven and he couldn't understand why. He always wanted to be near him. Always wanted to do things with him. He wanted to feel the raven's slender fingers scratching at his scalp like he does when the blonde is getting his treatments.
Sasuke felt eyes on him and he looked over his shoulder at Naruto before smirking.
He was falling for the blonde. Everything about Naruto he loved. It was a much different feeling he had about Naruto than he did about his ex boyfriend Neji.
Sasuke and Neji met during Sasuke's freshman year. Neji being a junior. The two of them fell in love instantly and dated for two years. Upon Neji's graduation, he told the raven he would wait for him to graduate and they both would live in Neji's home town and get married. Completely smitten by the long haired boy Sasuke agreed and the two of them went their separate ways. What used to be everyday phone calls turned to every other day; once or twice a week, to once a month then nothing at all. Finally able to get through to Neji, Sasuke found out that Neji moved on to someone else and his only response was "Things Happen, Sasuke. I'm sorry. I love you."
Love? Sasuke was so tired of that word. He never understood why people use it so loosely. What happend with Neji hurt him and he vowed to never give himself to anyone ever again. Now in his Junior year of College a whole year and a half later, and he's practically given his heart to Naruto without either of their knowledge.
Sasuke walked back over to the blonde who watched his every move. Sasuke liked the way Naruto paid him so much attention. It was also one of the things he did that Neji didn't. Whatever surrounded Sasuke didnt matter, when Naruto looked at him, that was all he saw. His beautiful raven.
"You looked like an adorable three year old feeding the giraffe, you were so excited." Naruto smiled once the raven was in front of him.
Sasuke reached over to the hand sanitizer stand and placed his hands under. The machine made a noise before spitting out a decent amount of sanitizer. Sasuke removed his hands and began rubbing his hands together.
"Then I would have to call you a pedophile for staring at a three year old feeding a giraffe." Sasuke smirked at the fox like boy who easily flipped him the bird.
"You're such a dick." Naruto replies as the two of them walked off in another direction.
"I'm only teasing, I'm sorry." Sasuke replies. His hands snake around the other boy's waist as he placed a small kiss on his cheek. "I'll buy you a churro to make it up yeah?"
Naruto bit back a smile while looked at Sasuke from the corners of his eyes.
"Make it two." Was his answer.
After the Sasuke bought Naruto his two churros, which he quickly ate, the two of them sat on a bench as Naruto helped Sasuke with his eyedrops. After twisting the orange cap back onto the eyedrops, Naruto placed it in the bookbag they've been carrying together. Sasuke lowered his glasses back onto his face.
The two spent the remainder of their time at the zoo untill it closed. They then went to eat and made their way back onto College campus.
Naruto stretched and looked up at the night sky.
"It's so beautiful out." He says. Admiring the stars and the moon. His eyes traveled over to Sasuke. Who walked with his hands in his pockets.
"Naruto, I have a question." Sasuke says. Uncertainty laced within his words. Naruto raised an eyebrow and pursed his lips together.
"Okay, what is it?"
"Have you ever been in love?" The raven asked.
Naruto poked out his bottom lip as he thought. "Honestly, no." He says after a moment. "I-I mean I've been in relationships where I thought I was in love, but that's different. People are so infatuated with the thought of being in love they get those two mixed up. You may think it's love, but it's just an infatuation. Everyone wants to be in love so bad, they take all the pain and hurt someone put them through just to say they're happy and in love. It shouldn't have to be like that, ya'know? I want to truly be happy and in love. Not just be in love with the thought of being in love."
Sasuke stared at Naruto. Everytime he asked Naruto a serious question, Naruto always went above and beyond his expectations.
"Have you?" Naruto turned the question back on him and Sasuke quickly avoided his gaze as images of him and Neji came swirling into his memory.
"There was someone." Sasuke replies. "But we grew apart after his graduated."
Naruto's lips twisted into a frown as sympathy filled his eyes.
"I'm sorry to hear." Naruto says. "I can tell just by the thought you really loved him."
Sasuke nodded slowly while chewing on his bottom lip.
"Don't worry, I'm a good judge of character so whoever you fall for next has to go through me first." Naruto smiles. "If I don't like him then there's something wrong with him. I want the best for my Raven. And the best my Raven shall get."
"There's no one who could be better than you Fox, believe that." Sasuke says softly causing the blonde to blush.
"Heh, well you just set the standard way too high." Naruto rubbed the back of his neck.
The two reached Naruto's dorm. The blonde dug in his pockets for his keys and pulled them out, using them to unlock the door.
"See you bright and early for class tomorrow." Naruto smiles at the raven.
"See you." Sasuke replied with a gentle smile. "Goodnight Naruto."
"Goodnight Sasuke."
