Giggles and laughs could be heard all the way down the boys' dormitory hall that night, Wels Knight's dorm being the source of it all.

Four friends had all cleared their schedules to be able to take the evening off and spend it with eachother, reminisce on old times, and complain about the pains of college.

They had gone out for a lovely dinner, then retreated back to Wels' place to play board games and watch movies.

Unfortunately, xB had to leave early because he had homework, but just before he left he gave his friends a quick, small gift.

"A book?" Jevin asked, inspecting the haphazardly put together scrapbook… thing. He raised his eyebrows. "I'm dyslexic."

Hypno snatched the booklet from their friend's grip and handed it to Wels. "It's fine, Jev, Welsie can read it to us."

Wels groaned, "Why me??"

"Cuz you can read and you're not lazy!"

"You guys should just take turns reading." xB chuckled, gripping the door handle. "There's parts for everyone in there.. it basically explains everything in the 'Note from xB' chapter."

Jevin blinked, "Wait you're actually expecting us to read this-"

xB shrugged, briefly glancing at Hypno. "Yeah. Hopefully. You can call me once you-.. if you have any questions."

Wels pocketed the small book and patted his friend on the shoulder. "You got it. Thanks for this!"

"Yeah, it's been fun!" Jevin added, "Though, still fuck you for cheating in Monopoly"

"I did not cheat in Monopoly, you're just bad at making investme-" xB paused, "Okay I NEED TO GO--"

"BYE CHEATER."

"FUCK YOU"

"Nice seeing you xB."

"Seeya Wels." xB smiled, "..Bye, Hyp."

Hypno gave a small wave. "Bye dork. Talk to you later."

xB went home.

After a few moments of silence, Jevin snatched the journal xB had given them from Wels' pocket. "I'm curious, I actually kinda wanna read this. You two up for it?"

Wels grinned, "Uh, yes!! It sounds fun!"

Hypno glanced at the journal skeptically. "I have a feeling this'll either go terribly or amazingly.. sure!"

And so the three boys settled in Wels' small, cozy living room. The next few hours they spent reading the journal xB had given them, which they collectively decided to call 'The Diary.'

"Oh oh, it's 'The Diary'," Hypno explained, their face written with humour, "But you have to say it in a Terminator voice."

Jevin punched his friend playfully, "Okay, nerd"

Then, finally, the boys got to xB's section. They had relived freshman year, the Jels era, the months with Etho, and had thrown in many exclusive embarrassing details themselves. None of them knew what was coming in the xB chapters. At the moment, their biggest concern was-

"xB isn't here, who'll read his part!" Wels frowned, "The casting will be all messed up."

Hypno grabbed The Diary, dodging Jevin, who was also trying to get it. "The longer you're in the music school the more you talk like a theater kid-"

"Hey!"

"Casting doesn't matter!" The brunet finished, "We can either wait for xB to read this part with him, or we can take turns reading the chapters."

Wels huffed, "Finee. Whatever. We can read it in turns."

"Okay!" Jevin made stupid gabby hands at the book, "I wanna read the first one, gimme."

"Jev, you just read-"

"Whatever!! No one cares!"

Reluctantly, Hypno handed the blue-haired boy The Diary. "Okay, okay- read away my friend."

Jevin seized the booklet and flipped excitedly to the correct page. "Entry Title: Fuck." He read out with a chuckle.

Wels grinned. Hypno snorted, "Truee!"

Jevin laughed and glanced back at the booklet, and his smile quickly melted. "Oh."

Jev pursed his lips and shuffled over to Wels, showing his boyfriend the line. "Am I aloud to read that with--"

They simultaneously looked up at Hypno, making the poor brunet very uncomfortable, and confused.

"What." They asked, "What does it say?"

"Huh." Wels' eyes glinted with admiration, "That's actually smart." He nudged Jevin, ignoring Hypno's confused glaring. "xB gave it to us for a reason."

It dawned on Jevin, and he lit up, "'Call me if you have questions,' he said! Then- then- at the start-" He flipped the pages vigorously back to the beginning of the book, "'Call me once you know'! That's so cleve-"

"Jevin!" Hypno snapped, "Wels! What?"

The two stared, wide-eyed for a moment, before Jevin shoved the Diary into Hypno's hands. "You read the fuck."

Hypno blinked slowly, but accepted the book and flipped to the correct page. "...'F-word.'" They read. "'September 6th, 2006.'"

Hypno raised their eyebrows at their friends, before turning their attention back to the words. "...'Holy fuck I--'"

He dropped the book. "Fuck"

The world seemed to fall silent.

"This is a joke." Hypno said. "Tell me this is a joke."

Jevin bit his lip and looked away. Wels opened his mouth to say something, but seemed to decide against it.

Hypno abruptly scooped the diary backup and speedread the rest of the chapter.

"...'what happened to physical'..." He mumbled, "..'not having a crisis'...'gay'...'love his smile'…'caLL ME ONCE YOU KNOW'- THAT FU-"

Clambering up, Hypno stomped over to his backpack and fished out his phone,his face a furious crimson, aggressively punching digits into it. "He did not have the nerve to tell me like that he-"

"Wait-" Jevin interrupted, "Why do you say that like-"

"Like I knew?" The brunet raised an eyebrow, "This mother fucker is a obvious as he is oblivious.. I've been waiting for him to properly ask me out!"

*ring*

"Oh."

*ring*

"And then he tells me like THIS?"

*ring*

"GOD DAMMIT XB PICK UP-"

*ring*

"Hyp-" Wels said gently, "He probably has his phone on silent, he said he was going to do homework--"

*ring*

Hypno stared at their phone, a mix of dumbfoundment and anxiety rippling across their face…

'Hey! This is xB Crafted, really sorry I can't take your call right now. Maybe text me, or leave me a message at the tone and I'll call you back ASAP! Thanks!'

*beeeep*

After a hesitant moment, Hypno took a breath.

"You're insufferable. I love you too..." They pursed their lips, their cheeks growing redder. "C-call me back once you know. Talk to you.. soon."
