(december 12th, 2003)

Look, I didn't really want to go to the Christmas party. I don't think xB or Wels did either, but Jevin definitely did, and it was also Xisuma hosting.

If you didn't know, Diary, Xisuma is like- Star Student, Rich Kid, Great guy. You just don't say 'no' to X when he's hosting a Christmas party… especially if there's food.

But so yesterday, December 11th, xB, Wels, Jevin and I all found ourselves at this stupid party.

Jevin was having a blast, being social and stuff, dragging Wels around. xB and I were sticking against the wall near the food table, just talking, hoping we'd blend into the crowd.

We watched and laughed as Jevin dragged Wels to the dance floor when 'Shut Up and Dance with Me' by WALK THE MOON came on, a huge dopey grin on his face. Wels glanced over at me with an unreadable expression, though he was totally excited to dance with Jev.

Oh don't you dare look back

I turned to xB. "Wanna go dance?"

Just keep your eyes on me

xB eyed me up and down -- something he does quite often now -- quirking an eyebrow. "With you?"

I said you're holding back

I snorted, grinning. "Oh, hell no. Not like- together. I just wanna see you make a fool of yourself."

She said shut up and dance with me

"Shut up."

As to not overwhelm myself with the sheer amount of people in the room, I kept my eyes on xB. He heaved a breath, leaning back into the wall. He glanced over at me, meeting my eyes. He smiled.

I find it hard to believe that only a few months ago I didn't know xB. Or Wels, or Jevin. We're so.. close-knit now, that I can't imagine times without them.

… We were victims of the night

"It's kinda crazy, huh?"

The chemical, physical, kryptonite

"Which?" xB asked.

Helpless to the bass and the fading light

"How quickly we bonded." I said, glancing at Jevin and Wels, spinning around across the room. "The four of us… we met, what? Three months ago? And lookit those two, they're practically in love."

Oh we were bound to get together

"It is pretty crazy." xB hummed, and he stood up straight, pushing off the wall. "Kinda like Fate, huh?"

Bound to get together

Laughing at the proposition, I rolled my eyes. "Sure, xB, it's Fa-"

I jumped when xB grabbed my hand.

… She took my arm

"C'mon, bandana boy."

I don't know how it happened

"Wh-what are you doing-" I asked. xB dragged me to around where Wels and Jevin were.

We took the floor and she said,

"Dancing." There was a playful glint in xB's ocean eyes that I've never seen before.

… Oh don't you dare look back

xB can't dance. Like, I mean, neither can I, but still. Neither of us knew what we were doing, and that was painfully obvious. We were stepping on eachother's feet, tripping every two seconds… it was pretty shit.

Just keep your eyes on me

My hands in xB's, the world seemed to melt away.

I said you're holding back

I chuckled. "What the hell compelled you to do this."

She said shut up and dance with me

xB grinned, "Fate."

Stupid smooth bastard.

(Don't take that last part the wrong way, Diary. I don't like like xB. If you don't dance with the homies, are you really homies?)

After the song ended, xB and I retreated back to our wall. Wels came and joined us a few minutes later.

Mr. Prince Charming had the stupidest grin, and I swear his pupils were like- dilated. He leaned on the wall between xB and me, sighing.

"Your pupils are dilated." xB remarked.

Wels rolled his eyes, scoffing. "Shut up."

"You're also blushing." I noticed.

"I am not." He said, bringing up a hand to cover his mouth.

I leaned forward and grinned at xB from around Wels. "He totally has a crush."

"Oh, for sure."

Wels' eyes seemed to stare through my soul, which to be honest was quite frightening. "I've known Jev for less than half a year."

I shrugged. "Who knows. Maybe it's just fate."

"I hate it here."

"No, you don't."

Wels scoffed, "Yeah. I do."
