The Guardians Talk
"Whew that was quite a fight out there." said Bunnymund as he made a cracking sound in his paws.
"Yeah I know! " Tooth shrieked.
Sandy joined in by making a picture of him exhausted by using his Dreamsand.
The Guardians spent the day fighting with Pitch Black and his army of Nightmares. Word spread about it and the Guardians are prepared to face The Lord of Nightmares. Luckily his army was defeated and he sworn that someday he'll return with a better army.
The three were chatting happily except North. He was just driving the sleigh back to his Workshop. He didn't say anything, not a word. He remained silent all day.
Tooth noticed North and leaned forward as she was sitting in the back of the sleigh, along with Bunnymund and Sandy. She patted his shoulder.
"Hey North, are you okay?" She asked him.
North didn't say anything. He just frowned and didn't respond.
"North, please tell me." Tooth nudged him. Still no response.
"North, North, North, North." Tooth said, repeating his name over and over again. North frowned even more.
"Leave him alone, Tooth. The man's thinking about something." Bunnymund added. Tooth had a worried look on her face. Sandy made a question mark above his head and sat quietly. Bunnymund is sharpening his boomerangs. Sandy quickly fell asleep.
Then they reached North's Workshop at night. The wind was blowing wildly. Snow and cold temperature battered with the winds. This place is really harsh and cold.
North landed his sleigh in a landing pad. When he got down, he still didn't say anything. He walked inside the Workshop ignoring the greetings of his little elves and large Yetis. Tooth was worried about him. Is he okay? She wondered. Bunnymund gave Sandy a pat on his sandy shoulder and Sandy finally woke up. Tooth was just walking, without fluttering around happily like she used to.
"Tooth, y'kay there? What's wrong with you? You didn't even move your wings." Bunnymund said with a concerned look on his face.
Tooth shook her head. "I don't know what's wrong with North today. Is he okay? I'm just concerned." She replied sadly.
Sandy, then did something. He filled the whole place with Dreamsand, creating dreams of whales, kites, giraffes and other sorts of things that appeared on every child's good dreams. The elves were in awe. The Yetis stopped working and was amazed by the view. Sandy intended to do this to cheer up Toothiana but she didn't smile, which made Sandy frown. The Dreamsand vanished and left the elves with disappointment same as the Yetis.
The three Guardians went up to North's office only finding that North was staring at a shut door on his roof, gazing at the soft blueish white glow of the moon.
Bunnymund closed the door and Tooth walked up to him trying to say something but couldn't. Sandy questioned again.
There was silence in the room.
----------------
Minutes later, the silence finally broke.
"North what in a tooth's part is wrong with you?! Can't you at least say a word?!" Tooth said, agitated.
Bunnymund and Sandy looked at each other. They have never heard Tooth speak this way before.
Then North looked down and took a deep breath slowly. He opened his mouth to say something.
"Tooth, Bunnymund and dear man Sandy. I have.....to say something." North said quietly.
" Finally! It's been ages and you haven't talked with us." Bunnymund exclaimed.
"Now something has come to my attention........" North stopped.
Tooth looked surprised. Sandy filled the room with several question marks and Bunnymund frowned.
"I feel something." North said.
"What is it that you feel North?" Tooth asked softly. Sandy nodded. Bunnymund scoffed.
"I bet that's not coming from your belly." Bunnymund said while taking out a pocket notebook and reading glasses. Sandy made a replication of a notebook and a pen, imitating Bunnymund.
"It maybe or maybe not Bunny my friend." North replied.
"Then what's the exact answer then?" Bunnymund asked impatiently.
"MAIM." North said.
Bunnymund perked up his ears. Tooth was confused. Sandy shook his head.
"MAIM?" Bunnymund and Tooth said all at once.
"Man in moon, silly." North chuckled.
"Oh." Both Guardians said.
"What did he say, North?" Tooth asked.
"I feel that Manny says something very important." North said gruffly.
"If it's nothing special, well I'll leave. I don't have time for this." The Easter Bunny replied.
"What if it's important?" Tooth asked curiously.
"Let's go talk with Manny in Moon." North answered.
Then the room was flooded with the glow coming from the moon. It shone twice.
Tooth's eyes widened. Bunnymund kept a straight face. North was expecting for the answer. Sandy, well he's sleeping. Dozed off for a little or so.
Then North began the conversation.
"Ah, Man in Moon. We're waiting for you to come." North said in his deepest Russian accent.
The moon shone brighter. The stars above twinkled. The wind grew silent.
Then the moonlight shone directly in a pillar. The light began to create figures in the crystal glow.
What's he up to this time? North wondered.
Then a silvery figure of a boy holding a curved shepherd's staff appeared. He had pale skin and hair as white as snow and icy blue eyes. He was wearing a blue hooded sweater with some frost covering it. He began making snowflakes and threw snowballs at children.
"I see. It's Jack Frost." North's eyes widened with wonder.
"But that means......he'll be-"
"A new Guardian!" Tooth squealed, interrupting Bunnymund.
Because of Tooth's squeal of excitement, it made Sandy woke up with a small question mark forming on his head.
" Would there be any other Guardians?" Bunnymund asked. "Let's see for sure." North said. Second, the next figure appeared a girl with reddish orange curly hair. She wore a Celtic royal dress and was holding a bow and arrow.
"I believe she is called.....Merida DunBroch." North said with his hands clutched.
Tooth gasped in excitement. Sandy began making several question marks above his head. Bunnymund sighed.
"Could there be more?" Tooth asked, stopping her excitement. Thirdly the figure appeared to be another girl with unusually long blonde hair. She was wearing a lavender dress that seem to be in the 19th century style. She has a small green chameleon on her hand and she was painting in a wall.
"Isn't she called Rapunzel?" North asked his fellow Guardians. Bunnymund sighed even more. Tooth shrugged her shoulders. Sandy nodded dubiously.
Then this time it was Sandy who asked. Even though he's mute, he still managed to speak through Dreamsand that looks like he's communicating by charades. He tilted his head, as if he was asking with a big question mark on his head.
Finally a figure appeared to be another boy who looked so scrawny. He was wearing a fur vest, a green tunic and brown leather belt strapped into it. It appears that he was missing a leg and was replaced by a prosthetic one. He was seen playing with a black winged figure.
"Manny says the boy's name is Hiccup." North told his fellow Guardians.
Then the moonlight dwindled in the night.
The figures made by the Man in the Moon left the Guardians in awe. However this faded as Bunnymund did a head count on the Guardians and to the new ones. 2....4.....6.....8 he muttered. Then a frown quickly formed in his face.
"8 Guardians? He called three more and now we're 8 Guardians?! Maybe the glowing guy in the moon has gotta be kidding me." Bunny said in disbelief.
"Why should you doubt, Bunny?" North asked him.
"I can't believe that he called three more Guardians. I'm contented on our numbers." Bunny replied grimly.
"Why not? The more the merrier, right?" Tooth said, looking at North and Sandy, who nodded silently.
Because of this, Bunny left North's Workshop and tapped his foot on the floor, creating a large hole that led to his Warren. Tooth fluttered around and also left. It was only North and Sandy who remained inside the room. They stared at each other.
"Don't worry Sandy. I'm sure they'll trust them soon." North said as he placed a hand gently on Sandy's shoulder. Sandy nodded.
What if Bunny's wrong about the new ones? He should believe more than children who believe in us, North thought. "Man in Moon never tricks anyone." he said to himself.
Suddenly he got an idea.
"Sandy my good man! Come with me! We shall take the new ones here! Make them recruits!" North joyfully said, carrying the small and stout Guardian in the air. Sandy made a swirling symbol above his head, saying that he's getting dizzy. North exited, bursting through the door which shocked the Yetis. The elves stepped aside as the large Guardian was marching on the way to his sleigh. Sandy followed him. The elves were curious about this event.
"My good elves and Yetis. Continue your work and never stop making wonder to children while I'm gone." North instructed. Then the Workshop began to be busy with working Yetis and elves delivering toys.
As he hopped to the sleigh with Sandy on the passenger seat, North checked his sleigh and stored some snow globes for future use.
"We are now going on a journey once more Sandy. First we shall find the first chosen, Jack Frost." He said with enthusiasm. Sandy wondered. Why is this big guy so cheerful all the time?
Seconds later, they left the Workshop and went to find Jack Frost, the first chosen one.
