Hiccup's POV:

"Come on Toothless, let's go flying."

I tied the hook to the handle of Toothless' saddle. I stepped on the pedals back and forth. I checked at the back. The tail fin worked perfectly fine. I thanked Gobber for the new tail fin, it was quite nice than the previous one I made after it got burned from the war. The pedals worked in smoothly at every twist and turn my feet ( well, just one leg, since I've already got a peg leg ). I brushed off the dust from the new saddle and checked my dragon or perhaps best friend, Toothless.

"You ready, bud?" I asked while petting his head. He roared that seems to say, All ready.

"I take that as a yes." I smiled.

When I was about to ride, I felt a swift movement of air rushed in above.

Hey Hiccup, you ready?" I looked up to see Astrid atop her Deadly Nadder she named Stormfly. She landed and dismounted from Stormfly and approached me.

"Hello m'lady. Good weather today." I said.

"Haha, yeah. Sure it is." She replied happily.

"Astrid, try to draw your bangs like a curtain so that I can see those pretty eyes of yours." I said.

"What, you don't like the way I look?" She glared her icy blue eyes at me.

"Wha- I didn't say that-"

She grabbed my shirt and I can feel her face pressed against mine. I soon realized our lips touched together. This should be the third time she actually kissed me. I have finally win my score.

After that, she let go and I looked at her, dazed. She is just a combination of beauty and danger. I like it that way.

"Want to go flying with me?" I asked, scratching Toothless's chin when he suddenly fell down.

"Sure. Make sure that I'll win, okay?" We both laughed.

"Okay then." I said. Just when we were about to mount on our dragons, we saw three dragons and four riders. The other teens, Fishlegs, Snotlout and Tuffnut and Ruffnut.

"Yo Hiccup, wanna go racing with us?" Snotlout said.

"Snotlout, Hiccup and I are supposed to race together." Astrid groaned.

"Calm down, Astrid. The more, the merrier right?" I said trying to assure her.

"It's alright Astrid, it's not like we're going to blast you away with our dragons, right guys?" said Snotlout then turned to the others.

"Yeah, but excluding the 'blasting each other' part." Fishlegs replied.

"Blasting's our middle name!" The twins said both at once.

"Hey!"

" I was about to say that, Ruff!" Tuffnut yelled at his twin sister.

"No I was the one who's about to say that!" Ruffnut turned to Tuffnut.

"Hey, I have the right to say things first!"

"Where are your manners, it's ladies first?!"

"Why would you go first? You don't even look like a girl anyway!"

There it goes again. The twins arguing and fighting. Astrid and I sighed. Fishlegs petted his Gronkle named Meatlug. Snotlout had his arms crossed.

"Okayy, um guys.....Tuff? Ruff? Enough fighting, please. Why don't we all just race?" I said, breaking down the fight. Tuff and Ruff looked at me with bruises on both of their faces. "Okay!" They said at once.

"Then let's get going!" Snotlout said impatiently.

"Okay guys, on your mark. Get set. Go!"

I gave the signal and all of us were flying in the air with our dragons. I dodged the sea stacks and performed spectacular loops and turns and dives in the air. The others were amazed then they started their own tricks.

I looked back to see what is happening. Astrid and Stormfly was behind me. Snotlout and Hookfang at Astrid's left wing and the twins and their dragon, Barf and Belch on Snotlout's right wing. Fishlegs and Meatlug was just far behind, since Fishlegs has the slowest flying dragon (no offense Fishlegs).

"Toothless, power dive!"

And then me and Toothless were diving down then we were spinning in the air. I was in front when someone shouted.

"Stormfly, spike lash!" I heard sharp things being thrown at us. I screamed and urged Toothless to turn left. Luckily we both evaded the unexpected attack. Whew! That one nearly killed me.

"Hey that's cheating Astrid!"

"Careful what you wish for!"

She smirked at me and I smiled. After the race, it was always me who wins. Everyone was exhausted and had their breaks. Astrid came to me and punched me on the shoulder. I smirked back and then grabbed me again. I blushed violently as our lips touched together once again. I can hear the others making fake barfing noises and such. After that Astrid let me go and we smiled.

"Guys I'm hungry." Fishlegs whined.

"Obviously. Look at yourself. I bet you won't last till winter!" Tuffnut teased.

Snotlout and Ruffnut laughed.

"That was rather harsh." Fishlegs replied and Meatlug licked his face which turned his frown into a smile.

"Now, now let's get back to Berk and get a meal or two in the Great Hall." I said, trying to settle down the others making fun of Fishlegs.

They nodded and we all head back to Berk.

( Time Skip )

Once we have landed on the grassy hill of the isle, many Vikings greeted me with smiles  when they all rush to me.

"Hiccup thank you laddie!"

"You're the greatest Viking ever!"

" If it wasn't for you and your Night Fury, we've all stay goners, eh?"

"Hiccup thanks for having the dragons here on Berk. My life changed greatly."

They all given me remarks of how I got dragons here to live with us. Well it's true. I may not be the best Viking in history but I've been the first Viking who trained a dragon. The war ended because of me and Toothless and it made me happy to see everyone having their own dragons and the dragons living with us. They won't stop until I heard a loud voice coming from behind the crowd.

" Out of the way!"

" Move yer shins!"

" I want to see him."

If you would've guessed it, it was my dad and Gobber. Dad shoved every Viking in his path and I looked down to avoid constant awkwardness. Then all of a sudden, I can feel my lungs crying for air and my ribs cracking when I realized Dad gave me a big Viking hug.

I patted his arms to say " Dad I can't breathe." and thankfully he let go of me with a chuckle. I was gasping for air and then Gobber gave me a soft pat on the shoulder.

" Let's go to the Great Hall, everyone." Dad said.

Everyone said their hurrahs and all rushed in the Great Hall. Vikings and dragons crowded inside. Everyone is so busy talking to each other while some are busy tending their dragons. It made me happy to see everyone having peace with each other despite the history of the past.

We fought with dragons before and it never ended. Hundred years had passed and this war against dragons and Vikings never seem to end when something happened and struck an impact on the history of Berk has ever seen. At this time, I've always wanted to join the war, however they see me as an unwanted guest and worst of all, never accepted me. So I have to do something different.

I have seen a Night Fury, one of the most rarest and deadliest dragon existed in the face of the earth. Well instead of killing the dragon, I trained it. And because I bonded with a dragon, not fighting with it, it finally stopped the war, which costs up the loss of my leg. But now everything has changed. Dragons and Vikings as one.

Me and my friends hurry down at the table and we all ate lunch. I gave Toothless a bucket of fish and ate hungrily and because of that, he barfed out the half eaten fish like he did when we first met. I did like nothing happened but my friends gave barfing sounds when they saw that.

" Uh.....thanks bud. This is a really nice gift." I said sarcastically.

Toothless smiled and I gave him a hug. Astrid and the others did the same to their dragons.

I let go from the dragon and then Toothless let out a roar but not quite loud. The roar he made sounded universal that all dragons roared in happiness and nearly blasted our eardrums. Nonetheless we were all happy to be with our dragons.

Just before we are all having fun with our dragons, a gush of air swept inside. The fire from the candles and chandeliers died. The laughs turned into gasps. Both Vikings and dragons were surprised. I can hear Dad muttering some words to Gobber, must be giving him some orders. He nodded and turned to the other Vikings. Somehow I hear some voices within earshot.

" Get those axes sharpening."

" We've got another one here."

" Brace yer selves."

In the middle of the celebration, entered four people however I assume that they're clearly not Vikings. They don't have to be Vikings at all. Two girls and two men entered. One girl has blonde hair like Astrid's but.......it's really, really long. Hair that can stretch all the way to Gobber's blacksmith. She is wearing a purple dress that definitely doesn't look like Viking women clothing. One girl has reddish orange curly hair. She is also wearing a dress that looked like she came from other lands away from Berk ( kind of Gaelic or Celtic ). She is holding a bow.

Then a boy appeared. Strangely, his hair is white as snow. He has pale skin and blue eyes. He is wearing some weird kind of clothing with some frost covering it. He is holding a staff with a curved end. We all got surprised when his feet doesn't even touch the ground. He's flying, I guess. Then a man that looked like Dad also appeared. He also has a beard like Dad's but it's not that.......big and besides it's white. He is wearing a red robe with black fur trimmings on it.

I can hear Toothless growling beside me. Toothless, are they danger? I muttered the words to myself. If they are, we've all fight with our dragons. If they're not dangerous, we just have to make sure they're not. Then the four people approached me.

" Greetings Hiccup." The man said.

" How did you know my name?" I asked, slight terrified. He looks so intimidating.

" There is one who told us." He replied.

I was about to say another word when Dad joined in.

" Who are you? And why are you here?" He said in his intimidating Viking chief accent.

" Here to attack our dragons?!" A Viking said.

Almost all Vikings agreed to what the Viking said. Soon dragons growled and joined them. I looked at the others. They all look like they want to fight again, even though we just made peace with the dragons.

" Me and my comrades are not here to fight. I believe you are the chief of Berk?" The man said. Dad gave his serious look, same as the stranger. Every second now and they can have a duel with each other, I think.

But then Dad kept his cool and continued.

" I am. What is your business here?" He said.

" Good then. Allow me to introduce myself and my comrades."

" Does he have a name? " Tuffnut whispered to me.

" He should have at least introduced himself seconds ago." Fishlegs added.

" I almost thought he's nameless." said Ruffnut.

I glanced at the guy who was flying without having his feet touch the ground. I think he has a dragon spirit inside him.

" Greetings. I am Nicholas St. North also known as Santa Claus but I prefer to be called North." he introduced himself as North. Then he stepped back and the woman with super long hair stepped forward with a smile on her face.

" Hi! I'm Rapunzel. Nice to meet you! You all look like ruffians and thugs but I know you are all lovely people." The girl said.

Before she said the 'ruffians and thugs' part, I looked at Snotlout who was flexing his muscles, Fishlegs humming, Tuffnut and Ruffnut head butting as usual and Astrid sharpening her axe, same goes at the other Vikings.

Then the girl with reddish orange curly hair stepped forward.

" I am Merida , Princess of DunBroch from Scotland."

Scottish? We're Vikings but we never saw a Scottish person before. Sometimes we think they are invaders who come from another lands.

( Historical Fact: Vikings and Scottish people were once enemies hundred years ago )

After Merida introduced herself, it was now the boy's turn.

" Hello um.......strange scary men. Don't mean to crash the party but um....I'm called Jack. Jack Frost to be exact. And I see that you have big scary looking winged lizards there." He smirked.

Toothless growled even more. I gripped the safety hook tightly and pulled it against me, urging him not to attack.

" May I ask why are you here? And why do you want to find me?" I asked.

" Hiccup, we have come a long way to find you. We need to tell you something very important." said North.

I stepped forward to listen.

" Um..okay. What is it that you want?"

" Hiccup listen. The only reason me and my comrades are here is to find you and that you are called as a Guardian." said North.

" Guardian?" I asked. Toothless had his cool and tilted his head as if he was asking. Seconds later, there were whispers in the air.

" Guardians are people chosen by Man In Moon to do a special yet relevant task. That task is to protect the children from the dangers of our sworn enemy, Pitch Black. For as long children believe in us, we will guard them with our lives."

" Who's Pitch Black?" Astrid asked.

" He's a really bad guy who seek to destroy every dreams of children. He brings nightmares to those little ones." Rapunzel replied.

" No wonder Tuffnut was my nightmare every night." Ruffnut muttered.

" Same as you. I can't even sleep because your horrible face appears every night." Tuffnut retorted.

" Shut up Tuff!" shouted Ruffnut.

" Guys calm down." I ordered. They both responded quickly but exchanged glares at each other. I sighed and rolled my eyes and  looked at North.

" Hiccup, you were destined to become a Guardian. We would like you to join us and together you and my comrades shall face Pitch and protect children. Would you like to join us?" North said.

I remained speechless. Protect children? I mean its good but I - I already have responsibilities of my own; to keep the peace between Vikings and dragons and more than that, I should prepare myself of becoming the next chief of Berk. I just can't take things all at once.

" Look I know you and your friends back there want me in your Guardian duty or whatever but I should tell you that I refuse. I hope you understand." I said.

North sighed.

" We do understand Hiccup. Me and my comrades should be leaving by now." said North.

Then they all walked away and left the Great Hall.

" Well that was easy." Tuffnut said.

" Yeah I know right." Ruffnut added.

" For a second, I thought they're going to kill our dragons." Fishlegs joined in.

" If they hurt my Hookfang, they have to go through me!" Snotlout muttered.

I sighed. I looked at Toothless who gave me his signature puppy eyes. I patted his head and unhooked the safety hook from the saddle. Me and Toothless went outside.

( Time Skip )

" Toothless where are you? Its dinner time." I said.

" Toothless!"

That's weird. He would come immediately when I call him for dinner. But I can't see him. Dusk had appeared yet he was nowhere to be seen. He should be here by now. I left my house and began to search for him. Then I spotted Astrid walking with her dragon in the town circle near the Great Hall.

" Hey Astrid!" I called.

" Hey Hiccup!" she greeted .

" Have you seen Toothless? I can't find him anywhere." I said.

" I haven't see him around. What happened?" she replied.

" I don't know. I was just calling him for dinner but he didn't showed up like he used to." I shrugged my shoulders.

" Come on let's go find him." said Astrid.

Then we ride on Stormfly's back and lifted off the ground.

" Toothless!"

" Toothless!"

We both take turns on calling his name. Not a dragon to be seen in the dark. I tried to do the Night Fury call but still he wouldn't appear. My whereishe? I thought. I hope he's not hurt.

" I can't see him Hiccup." said Astrid.

" Can't see him either." I replied. I sighed and cupped my face with my hands.

" Hiccup look!"

I looked down to see where Astrid is pointing. A red fin on the ground. Wait! It's Toothless's tail fin! And there he is!

" Come on Astrid, let's go down to Toothless." I said.

" Aye aye Captain." Astrid jokingly said.

Stormfly landed down and me and Astrid dismounted on her. We both ran to Toothless.

" Toothless!"

Toothless saw me and I gave him a hug.

" Toothless, don't you ever run away from me. You nearly scared me to death!" I said with tears flowing out of my eyes. I can hear Astrid chuckling from the background.

" Nice dragon you got there."  a voice said.

I quickly let go of Toothless and glanced at my surroundings. Who said that? Even Astrid was a bit startled. Toothless growled. Out of nowhere, the girl with reddish orange curly hair or Merida I assume her name is. She began circling around me.

" What are you doing here?"

" I mean no harm lad. We've got bad news." She replied.

" Oh really? What's that bad news you speak of?" Astrid said fiercely.

" We can't leave." she answered.

I gave her a puzzled look. She stared at me in her sky blue eyes as if it would meet my emerald green eyes. Somehow I got kinda lost in those eyes. Right before when I felt a punch on the shoulder.

" Hiccup!" Astrid yelled. I snapped out of my reverie and she pointed at me. When I looked around to see, North, Rapunzel and Jack were there. I stepped back and they all look at me with worried faces.

" Hello?" Rapunzel said.

" Oh um....hi." I mumbled.

" Hiccup mind if we stay here at Berk for a while. My sleigh ran out of snow globes." North said, looking down at his feet.

" What do you mean?" I asked.

" It means that we can't get out of this place." Jack replied.

I looked at Astrid who shrugged her shoulders in a I-don't-know-what-to-do manner. I sighed.

" Fine you can all stay here but in the arena. My house can't hold much more people." I said.

" Yay a sleepover!" Rapunzel squealed and clapped her hands in excitement. Merida and Jack sighed. North chuckled.

( TimeSkip)

After I have fed Toothless and said goodbye to Astrid, I led the group to the arena, where we used to be trained to kill dragons before  but we no longer did that. Instead we made it into an academy for training dragons. Me and my friends prepared mattresses for them to sleep with. They all thanked me and as we began to leave.

" So um.....what's your name?" Snotlout said.

" Um I'm Rapunzel." she replied shyly. He's flirting with the new girls, even Tuffnut and Fishlegs joined in. I rolled my eyes and told them to go home. They listened and rode with their dragons to their houses. It was me and Astrid left.

" I'm going home now. How about you?" she asked and yawned.

" I'll be home at the moment. You go on Astrid." I said. She nodded and kissed me on the cheek and then she left the arena with Stormfly. I blushed and then looked at the others. Rapunzel smiled widely, Jack smirked, Merida kept a straight face and North crossed his arms. I looked away and gave an awkward smile.

" I guess this is goodnight." I said while yawning.

" OK goodnight Hiccup." said Rapunzel.

" Goodnight Hiccup." Merida added.

" See you later dragon boy." Jack said.

" Night, Hiccup. Have good dreams." North replied. I nodded and flew with Toothless.

" Is he sleeping?"

" Yeah."

" I'm not sure about this."

" Trust me, this is part of the plan."

" Please don't."

" We'll do it fast, before he wakes up."
