Chapter 5: Travel
"Travel doesn't become adventure, until you leave yourself behind."
-Marty Rubin
Your purple eyes widened as you looked at the rosy haired man. You watched as his plump lips pulled into a full blown smirk, while he moved his lips away from your hand.
He straightened himself out, still maintaining his hold on your hand, and taking half a step closer your form.
"I've heard a lot about you,lady Y/N."
You raised an eyebrow at his words, and gently pulled your hand out of his grasp, taking a full step away from him. Your lavender eyes trailed over to glance at Jungkook who watched with amusement sparkling in his eyes.
"That's strange, considering I've just arrived today." you stated curiously.
Jin chuckled shuffling closer to you.
"I am very" the prince paused, his smirk growing wider. " acquainted with the handmaidens in this castle. They tend to gossip about visitors. Especially the beautiful ones."
You couldn't help but roll your eyes at his comment. He was obviously a playboy. You could understand why so many people couldn't stand him. The way he carried himself screamed arrogant and pompous. You already couldn't stand him. Glancing at Jungkook once again, you frowned as his smile only grew wider while watching your obvious struggle with the pink hired prince before you.
"Do you usually practice these lines or do you just pull them out of your butt when the occasion calls for it?"
Jin's golden eyes widened at your words, obviously shocked by your rejection. He covered his surprise with a bright smile, flashing his pearly teeth.
"You speak with fire, lady Y/N." He leaned in closer to you, his hot breath fanning your face. "I quite like it."
You jerked away from him, taking two steps backwards, trying to distance yourself from him. His comment made you angry, he really wasn't taking the hint.
"Are you always this articulate?" you asked.
Jin chuckled, taking a step back from you.
"Only when there is a beautiful woman present."
You released a sarcastic chuckle at his cheesy lines.
Jin smiled at your reaction.
"I have heard that elves were known for their beauty, but you have far exceeded my expectations."
You released another laugh at his words, shaking your head in disappointment.
"How can someone be so cheesy?"
Jin cocked his head to the side, eyeing you curiously.
"Cheesy? I'm afraid I don't understand, lady
Y/N."
You shook your head again, waving him off with your hand.
"It's just a saying. Don't worry about it."
Jin released a chuckle, taking a step towards you.
"You are a beautiful mystery, my lady."
You rolled your eyes and smiled at the rosy haired prince.
"Thank yo-"
"Jin."
You jumped at the deep, threatening voice coming from behind you.
You turned around, only to come face to face with Jimin. He didn't look at you, only at Jin.
He was glaring at him. His golden eyes never leaving the taller male's form, hatred very evident in his golden gaze. You almost shivered at the intensity of his eyes.
"Ah. Jimin. I was wondering when you would come and greet me." Jin spoke, a smile evident on his face.
Jimin scowled and took a threatening step closer to the prince.
"You weren't invited to this party. Leave."
Your lavender eyes widened at his harshness. Jimin has practically growled out the words.
Jin took a few steps closer to the silver haired prince.
"I'm afraid I can't. You see, I've just made a friend and it would be rude of me to leave in the middle of a conversation." Jins hand snakes around your waist, pulling you closer to his broad chest.
You frowned and opened your mouth to speak, you words never getting the chance to leave your mouth before Jimin began to speak again.
"Get your hands off of her." he growled.
Jin shook his head, pulling you impossibly closer towards him. Your eyes widened at his unmannerly gesture.
"But, she's so fun to," Jin paused, his smirk growing even wider "touch."
Jimin suddenly gripped your wrist, yanking you away from the pink haired prince and forcing you to stand behind his form. His hand released you, and he approached Jin, his chest puffed out and his anger now on full display.
"You will leave, or I will have you arrested." he spoke.
Jin's eyes darkened at the threat and he crossed his arms over his chest.
"You and I both know that you can't put me in jail." Jin spoke calmly. "And if you tried, I would be forced to tell your father of your behavior."
Your eyes switched between the two agitated males, quickly becoming interested in their conversation.
Jimins face remained neutral as he stared angrily at Jin.
"Leave. Now."
Jin merely smirked cockily, his eyes trailing over to you. He nodded his head and sent you a wink.
"Until next time, lady Y/N."
You could only nod back and watch as Jin turned to Jimin and smiled brightly before walking away confidently.
Jimin turned around to face you, his golden eyes never finding your own, as he stared at the floor.
"I apologize, you should not have seen that."
He spoke out softly, his eyes finally meeting yours. "It seems that since I've met you, all I've done is apologize." He chuckled out nervously.
You nodded.
"It seems so."
Jimin rubbed the back of his neck, avoiding eye contact with you.
The silence grew awkward.
The two of you just stood there, avoiding each other's gazes. Both of you were obviously uncomfortable just standing there, and neither of you seemed to be brave enough to speak to each other.
You sighed out, remembering the purple bottle in your hands.
Thank god! An excuse to leave.
"I should probably go. My eyes are itchy and Jungkook gave me this potion-"
Jimin nodded quickly.
"Oh yes. Of course. I understand the uncomfort."
You nodded, relieved and began to walk towards the other end of the room.
You raised the bottle to your eyes, your fingers holding your eyelids open as the cold liquid hit your eye balls. You blinked away the liquid until it ran down your cheeks.
You wiped it away with your hands and continued to blink repeatedly until the itch in your eyes subsided.
You sighed in relief and placed the purple lid back onto the bottle.
"Thank God. I thought my eyes would fall out of my skull, if I rubbed them any longer." you grumbled out, beginning to walk back to the crowd of people in the middle of the ballroom.
This potion felt weird, like even weirder than the potion Taehyung had given you. It made your eyes feel naked, if that makes any sense. It felt like you had just taken out contact lenses, relieving, but exposing.
Had the potion worn off?
You shook your head at the doubt filling you mind. Taehyung told you it would last all night, he knew more about this kind of stuff, you trusted him.
You began to walk over to the table filled with strange foods. You hadn't eaten since you arrived at the cast, and you were freaking hungry.
Your eyes trailed over the table filled with various fruits and meats. Apple, strawberries, grapes and other foods you didn't recognize.
You smiled to yourself and rubbed your hands together, happily anticipating eating the food before you.
You tongue darted out to wet your lips, your handing grabbing one of the purple grapes and plopping it in your mouth. You sighed contently at the burst of flavor.
Suddenly a gray haired woman appeared beside of you, a plate resting in her wrinkled hands, her golden eyes scanning the table of food before her.
You smiled.
"Try the grapes, they're the best." you stated happily.
The old woman turned to face you a kind smile resting on her face.
"Thank you young la-"
The sudden sound of breaking glass, shocked you, causing you to jump back in surprise. Your eyes shot to the now broken plate on the floor, widening as the trailed back up to the old woman infront of you
Everyone in the room grew silent, their eyes all on you and the woman.
"Wha-" your words were cut off as the woman pointed her finger in your face and took a few steps away from you.
"Dragon fire!" She screamed out. Shock was written in her wrinkled features, shock and fear. She was terrified.
Your eyes widened at her words and you searched the now whispering crowd frantically for a familiar face.
Jungkook's eyes were wide as he watched you from afar. Fear very apparent in your blue eyes.
"You have seen dragon fire!" The woman screamed again. "Witch!"
Your eyes left Jungkook's, shooting back to the old woman.
"No! I'm not! I swea-"
"Witch!" Another voice yelled out from the crowd.
Your body jerked in the direction of the voice.
"I'm not!"
"Kill the witch!"
"She'll bring dragons upon us!"
"Burn her!"
The people seemed to be closing in on you, getting closer with every word that was spoken.
You raised your hands up defensively and began taking a few steps backwards.
"Stop! I'm not a witch!"
The crowd, however didn't seem to listen, everyone continued to approach you, becoming violent very quickly.
"Taehyung!" Your voice screamed out unintentionally.
Your wrist was suddenly gripped harshly and you were jerked into a hard chest. You didn't recognize your captor, but he was very terrifying.
His long curly brown hair reached to his shoulders, his untamed beard went far below his chin. His eyes were a forest green color. He wore a white shirt, with brown leather pants. He was kind of heavy set, but it was mostly muscle as far as you could tell. His death grip on your wrist had you convinced that you would not be able to use your hand for a while.
You released a hiss in pain, tears almost escaping our eyes as you squeezed them shut involuntarily.
"Let me go!" you shouted as you used your free hand to hit him as hard as you could.
The man growled in anger and reached behind you, grabbing a handful of you (h/l),(h/c) hair and pulling it harshly.
You screamed in pain as your head was pulled backwards.
"Shut your mouth, witch!" His yelled, gripping your wrist tighter.
You released another scream of pain at the added pressure, you could practically feel your bone snapping in half.
The pressure was suddenly lifted off of your wrist and hair and your body flew onto the floor harshly.
Your blue eyes snapped open searching for the reason behind your sudden release.
Taehyung stood infront of you, a sword in his hand as he faced the crowd of angry people.
"What are you doing Taehyung?!" The bearded man yelled out. "She's a witch!" he spoke as he tried taking a step towards you.
Taehyung took a step closer to the man, anger evident on his features.
"She is my guest, and you will treat her as such."
The man scoffed.
"She is but a dog, and dogs are to be beaten." he spoke, casting his glare back towards you.
Taehyung moves his sword towards the man.
"If you lay one finger on her, I will not hesitate to end you, Nathaniel."
The bearded man glared at the elvish king, casting his eyes towards the sword against his chest.
"Those are words of war, Taehyung."
Taehyung frowned.
"Move on Nathaniel, you and I both know you can't win against my kingdom."
Nathaniel's eyebrows raised in shock, before he glanced back at you and then to Taehyung.
"I shall speak to King Richard about your behavior here tonight, Taehyung."
The elvish king growled lowly.
"The king of this country holds no power over me."
Nathaniel frowned, sending a scoff to Taehyung before turning and walking away.
You sighed in relief, grabbing your throbbing wrist, trying to ease the pain at least a little bit.
A warm hand covered your own.
Your eyes trailed up to meet Jungkook's worried, golden gaze.
"Are you alright?" He asked breathlessly.
You nodded.
"Yes."
Jungkook seemed relieved at your answer. He grabbed your waist and helped you to stand up. He pulled you off the floor, careful not to grab your hurt wrist and he began leading you away from the angry crowd. He wrapped his arm around your waist to secure you.
"We need to get you out of here." he spoke softly.
You simply nodded, still holding onto your wrist.
The room began to grow loud with the sound of arguments and yelling. The party becoming ruined very quickly. You could vaguely make out Jimin's voice trying to calm everyone down.
A man suddenly ran to you and Jungkook, using his shoulder to harshly shove Jungkook away from you. The prince landed on the floor with a loud thud. You struggled to regain your footing, eyes trying to take in your assaulter's appearance.
He turned towards you, anger in his eyes and a small steak knife in his right hand.
"You monster." he breathed out.
Your eyes widened as he began to charge at you with the knife held in a threatening way.
"You monster!" He screamed again.
You gasped and immediately moved to dodge his attack. The man ran past you, his knife grazing your upper left arm, ripping the blue lace of your dress.
You hissed at the pain and turned back to your attacker.
"What the heck man!?" you screamed.
By now, Jungkook had stood up and started to brawl with your attacker, sending a few punches to his gut.
Your eyes widened, watching him take down the man so easily.
Once the man was officially unconscious, Jungkook turned back to you and grabbed your arm softly.
"He cut you?" He asked.
You nodded.
"Yeah, but it's-"
"WHAT IS THE MEANING OF THIS?!"
The room grew silent at the deep, authoritative voice that had rang throughout the room so suddenly.
Your blue eyes trailed up to the top of the grand staircase. A man stood there. His hair was a dark chocolate color, his figure was thin, almost sickly looking. His skin was pale, a grayish color, his face was sunk in on itself and dark bags rested under his eyes.
This was the Lion King. Jimin and Jungkook's father.
"Well?!" He called out again.
The bearded man from earlier stepped out of the crowd confidently, his finger pointing over to your form.
"There's a witch among us, your highness."
The kings eyes moved over to you, his eyebrow raising in interest.
"The maiden does not appear to be a witch to me, King Nathaniel."
You frowned.
That guy was a king?! He freaking pulled your hair! He must've been from the bear kingdom. Taehyung said they were known for their strength. You could only imagine they were brutes as well.
"Her eyes have seen dragon fire." Nathaniel spoke.
You sent the bearded king a glare, practically trying to kill him with your gaze.
The other king's eyes were now hard on your form.
"Everyone, out." he spoke angrily.
The crowd stayed still, obviously in shock of the kings words.
"I SAID OUT!"
At his shout everyone in the ballroom began shuffling to find an exit, some of them tripping over each other until every one of the people were out of the ballroom.
The only ones that remained were you, Nathaniel, Taehyung, Jimin, Jungkook and Hoseok.
You frowned, suddenly becoming nervous under the king's gaze.
"Now, someone tell me why there is a witch in my castle."
