Chapter 39: Proposals

"Maybe... When you aren't busy, you might find time to marry me."

                                                                                -Anonymous

You hummed quietly to yourself as you gently rocked the tired child in your arms, your blue eyes scanning over the small room you were in.

"Come on baby," You started as the small child released yet another yawn. "It's time to go to sleep."

The child seemed to understand you, as her golden eyes began to drift shut slowly, her small hands rubbing her eyes as she rested her face in the crook of your neck.

You couldn't help but smile at her chubby face as you watched her doze off to dream land.

Earlier that day she was just a nameless victim of the attack, everything was stripped from her, but you took it upon yourself to give her one thing that no one could take away....a name.

You named her Grace.

That was your mother's name.

You knew that you had only known this small child for a few hours, but you couldn't help but feel attached and protective of her. She wasn't your child, you knew that. But she was alone, and no one should ever have to be alone.

Grace released a soft snore into your ear, her warm breath fanning over your face, and you almost melted. She was so adorable and precious.

You chuckled softly and walked over to the makeshift crib, which was actually just a bed with pillows lining the edges so she wouldn't fall out. Gently, you laid the child down, covering her with a small, blue blanket.

You stared at her as she slept, slightly envying her peace of mind.

Even though the "dragon situation" was taken care of, you still had numerous things to worry about. Taking down the Wall, getting back home, and......Yoongi.

You released a quiet sigh as your finger gently rubbed over the straw ring on your finger. You had feelings for him, that much was definitely clear. Your heart beat loudly and your stomach dropped when he was around you, but... Your family wasn't here, they were probably missing you and your mother didn't have much time left. You swore to yourself that you would see her one last  time.....

You needed to leave....but you wanted to stay.

"Crap." you breathed out.

"Why are you always talking to yourself?"

You jumped back at the sudden voice, your hand pulling your dagger out of it's sheath as your blue eyes searched for the source.

"Whoa!" Jimin yelled as he raised his hands in surrender. "It's me!"

You sighed in relief, instantly relaxing your body and pulling your dagger back into it's cover.

"What are you doing here?" You asked quietly, glancing at sleeping Grace.

Jimin smiled widely, his golden eyes disappearing as he gently grabbed your hand, his thumb brushing over the straw ring.

"I have something to show you."

You swallowed, secretly glad that he didn't mention the ring.

"Okay."

The silver haired prince pulled you out of the baby's room and down the hall, stopping in front of the large wooden doors, before turning to face you.

"Here." He stripped himself of his black, leather coat, handing it over to you. "It's pretty chilly out there. I don't want you to catch a cold."

A deep blush rose up your cheeks as you slowly nodded your head, prompting Jimin to wrap his arms around you and place the coat on your shoulders, his soft, plump lips grazing your ear for a split second before he pulled away, his hands now buttoning up the coat.

You stared down at his hands the whole time, the blush on your cheeks darkening. When he finished buttoning, he pulled off his knitted cap and placed it on top of your head, being sure to cover your ears.

"There," He smiled. "nice and warm."

You smiled at him shyly.

"Thank you."

He placed his hands on the door handle.

"Ready?"

You nodded.

"I'm dying of curiosity!"

The young prince released a light chuckle, puling the wooden door open.

Your eyes widened.

It was beautiful.

Roses were everywhere, multiple shades of red and pink and even white filled the small outside garden, even a trail of rose petals lined the ground, leading to a large tree. The tree was an odd looking thing. It's bark was a light shade of baby blue, and red flowers bloomed in full health, despite the cold weather. Numerous lanterns hung from the tree's branches, each one a different color, and your eyes couldn't seem to look away from the light they were emitting.

This place looked magical.

Jimin's hand slowly entwined his fingers with yours, pulling you along the path made of rose petals.

"This is-" You cut yourself off "Wow."

Jimin smiled widely at your reaction, his heart racing. He had hoped you would like it, he spent four hours working in the cold just to see the smile you were wearing now. Tonight had to be perfect he had to make sure it was something you would never dream of forgetting, because he knew he never would.

He watched you lovingly, as your blue eyes shined under the lanterns light, awe was written all over your features as you smiled widely. His heart thumped in anxiety and anticipation as the two of you came to stand under neath the multicolored tree.

"I hoped you would like it." He breathed out.

You nodded.

"It's so beautiful."

Jimin licked his lips nervously.

"You're so beautiful."

Your eyes widened slightly as your eyes moved to meet his curiously, your face heating up in embarrassment.

"Th-Thank you."

Jimin nodded, clearing his throat, his golden eyes looking up at the tree's red flowers, his hands digging in his pocket and brushing over the smooth ring, as he took a deep breath.

"Do you know what this tree is called?" he asked suddenly.

You shook your head, your hand gently touching the tree's bark.

"This is called the Starlight Tree." He stated as his eyes moved to meet yours. "I remember that first night...when we both watched the stars."

You nodded, a small smile gracing your lips as your mind traveled back to that night.

Jimin breathed in deeply, nervousness covering his body.

"I remember how ethereal you looked." He chuckled. "The way the moonlight cloaked your face, the way your hair framed your face, everything about you drew me in.  You listened and comforted me.. I thought you were an actual angel....I remember thinking that there was no way someone as perfect as you actually existed...I thought I had dreamed you up, but when I saw you standing by the horses the next day, I knew that you were, in fact, real."

You stared at the man in surprise and slight confusion. Why was he telling you all of this? Was he just emotionally because you almost died?

Jimin sighed, his hands reaching for yours.

"You have always been there for me, even when you didn't know me...You have been a light in my dark life. I love you. And today, when I thought you were dead I felt like someone had stabbed me in the chest and ripped out my heart. I don't ever want to be without you."

Jimin reached his free hand into his pocket, fishing out the golden ring, and showing it to you plainly.

Your blue eyes widened as you stared at it.

"You told me to reach for the stars," He started. "But I don't have to. Because my whole universe is standing right in front of me."

You didn't know what to say. You didn't know what to think, you could only watch as Jimin raised your hand to his lips, smiling widely. Your heart pounded loudly at his confession. You knew he loved you. He had told you before, but you never actually thought about him like this. It isn't that you didn't have feelings for him... because you did.. but what were you supposed to say? Yoongi proposed to you not even six hours ago, and yet Jimin stood before you, staring at you with so much love and adoration that you couldn't help but feel like maybe, just maybe... he was the one.

"Y/n," Jimin started quietly as his body gravitated to yours. "Will you-"

"My prince!"

Jimin's voice was cut off by a young servant, his hair was disheveled and he looked as though he had just run a hundred miles.

Jimin frowned in annoyance and faced the boy.

"Can you not see that I am currently occupied?" He growled out.

The boy nodded, his chest heaving.

"It's King Richard!"

Jimin sighed at the mention of his father's name.

"What about him?'" He asked.

The servant boy lowered his eyes.

"He's here, and he's brought his whole army with him."

The doors to The Great Hall slammed open as an angry Jimin stormed into the Main Hall, fuming at the seems as his golden eyes fell upon his sickly father, who sat upon a small wooden throne that hadn't been there before.

"Ah, Jimin. I'm glad you're here, we have things to-"

"What are you doing here?!" Jimin spat angrily.

The king's lips turned upward at his sons outburst, his golden eyes falling on your small figure as you quietly entered the room.

"Is that anyway to speak to your father?" He asked mockingly.

Jimin glared at the golden king.

"I am not in the mood for honorifics. Why have you come here? And why have you brought the entire army?"

The king chuckled weakly, before releasing a few coughs, and motioning to a servant girl.

The young girl shyly walked over to the table and poured the sickly king a glass of win before walking towards him and giving him the cup.

The king took a sip, before facing his impatient son.

"I have heard about the Dragon that flew over this town." He stated as his eyes moved to you. "And I have heard about the young witch who tamed it."

You gulped, as the kings eyes scanned your body from head to toe.

"Such power in such a small fragile creature." The king breathed out as his eyes continued to take you in.

Jimin moved to stand in front of you protectively, his hand gently grasping yours.

"What do you want father?"

The king laughed once again.

"I am dying my son." He started. "And all I have to show for my life is you and your worthless brothers."

Jimin frowned and remained silent.

"I had come to grips with that. I knew that since your mother was dead I could have no other chances to have another child....a true heir." His golden eyes fell onto you again, as he took a sip of his wine. "But now...This young, beautiful, powerful woman has fallen into my grips."

Jimin's eyes widened and he took a step backwards, his hand squeezing yours.

"She is born of power and she hold the most powerful magic ever known to our kind. With her, I could produce a new heir, a child born of power and strength, a child that could rule strongly even in my death."

You could feel your stomach turning as you processed his words, you felt like you were going to throw up.

Jimin stepped forward, his golden eyes hard on his father.

"You won't lay one filthy finger on her you pervert." He snarled.

The king only laughed.

"Who is to stop me from touching my wife?"

Two pairs of strong hands, suddenly gripped your shoulders, pulling your body away from Jimin's roughly, the prince moved to protest, but was simply stopped by another pair of guards.

"Let her go!" He screamed.

The king 'tsk'd .

"I should thank you, my boy. If you weren't such a terrible son, I never would have met my new bride."

Jimin struggled harder against the guards, his eyes shooting daggers at his father.

"Oh and before I forget,I have moved up your wedding date."He started. " You will be wed to Lady Hannah tomorrow."
