Chapter 4: Interrogation
The next thing everyone knew, they were outside the mansion, which was completely destroyed.
"You alright?" Janos asked Alyssa.
"Yeah." She responds, looking around, "Where's Angel?"
"Mama? Papa?" They hear Angel say as she runs over to them, "What happened?"
"We don't know." Janos tells her, "We're just glad you're okay."
The adults then noticed another male. He had silver hair, a blavk t-shirt, silver jacket, jeans, and shoes.
"Where did you come from?" Hank asked.
"I was looking for the professor." Peter says, "I thought he lived here."
"They took him." Alyssa informs the speedster.
Meanwhile, the kids were staring at Raven, who had changed back into her blue form.
"They look up to you." Hank tells Raven, "Right now, they need you."
"That's not what they need." Raven says, changing back.
A yellow car soon pulled in, and Scott, Kurt, Jean, and Jubilee exited, rushing over to the group.
"What happened?" Scott asked, "Where's Alex? Where's my brother?"
"Pretty sure I got everybody." Peter responds, taking a quick look around.
"Alex was closer than we were." Alyssa tells Peter quietly.
Scott then rushed towards the ruined school, Jean and Kurt following. A military helicopter later arrived and landed near the group. Moira went to try and talk to the soldiers that exited, but Alyssa and Raven had an uneasy feeling about them. Their worries were confirmed when they saw Stryker among the men.
Before the girls could warn anyone, sonic guns went off, knocking out all the other adults and kids. All except Scott, Jean, and Kurt. Stryker then ordered his men to take the adults with them. Moira, Hank, Peter, Alyssa, Janos, And Raven were all carried on stretchers and loaded on the helicopter before it took off. Kurt had also teleported himself, Scott, and Jean aboard as well. The kids tried to stop it, but all their powers were blocked.
By the time the adults woke up, they were in some sort of cell, surrounded by green lights. They questioned where they were, until they heard Stryker's voice through an intercom.
"Hello, Mystique." He says, "Tsunami."
"Major Stryker." Raven and Alyssa respond in unison.
"It's Colonel Stryker now." Stryker reponds, "I wouldn't get too close to the wall, if I were you. It may create some discomfort."
Moira then stepped forward. "I'm Moira MacTaggert. I'm a senior officer at the CIA."
"I know who you are, Agent MacTaggert." Stryker says.
"You cannot keep me here, in this-" Moira starts.
"Actually, I can." Stryker says, cutting her off, "A psychic event just destroyed every nuke from here to Moscow. That event emanated from exactly where we found you. At the home of the world's most powerful psychic. So, you're going to tell me, where is Charles Xavier?"
"It's not him you should be worried about." Janos says, "There's someone else. Someone more powerful."
"If you let us out of here, we can help you." Raven adds.
"Do you really expect me to believe that?" Stryker asks, "You can put on any face that you want, but I know who you are. What you are." Stryker then left them alone. Peter talked with Alyssa, Raven, and Janos while Hank and Moira looked for a way out.
"Hear me inhabitants of this world." Charles's voice suddenly sounded in their minds, "This is a message. A message to every man, woman, and mutant in the world. You have lost your way. But I have returned. The day of reckoning is here. All your buildings, all of your towers and empires, will fall. And the dawn of a new age will rise. For there is nothing you can do to stop what is coming. This message is for one reason alone. To tell the strongest among you... those with the greatest power... protect those without. That's my message to the world."
"How was Charles doing that without Cerebro?" Hank asked when the voice stopped.
Stryker reappeared before anyone could answer. "I know that voice." He says, "It's Xavier, isn't it? What's going on?"
The other adults responded with mixed "We don't know" replies, which irritated Stryker. Something then caught Stryker's attention as lights and sirens went off. Whatever it was, it couldn't be good. Gunfire could then be heard before silence. And then Kurt showed up. He tried saying something to the adults, who signaled that they couldn't hear him. He then tried again on the intercom.
"Stay away from the door." Kurt said, but it was distorted, and the adults didn't understand at first.
They figured it out just as it was blown open, where Scott and Jean waited.
"We know where the professor is." Jean says.
"I think we might have a way out of here." Scott adds.
"Well, you've been busy." Raven comments.
"We had a little help." Scott replies. "Let's go."
A/N: I LIIIIIIVVVEEEE! So I know it's a short chapter, and I apologize for the delay, but things have been coming up and taking up a lot of my time. I'm still trying to make time for writing, but I won't make any promises on an update schedule right now. I just ask that you be patient with me.
Until next time!
