Dean
I turned on my side in bed and reached over to pull them both closer to me. But the thing is, I don't feel neither of them here.
I heard a squeal and I jumped up, practically swinging the door off its hinges as I hurried downstairs, nearly sending an unsuspecting Allen down the stairs.
"Oi, mate. Don't you think that it's a little too early to be sprinting down the stairs?" He looked up at me.
"Sorry." I mumbled and continued on a slower pace down the stairs.
All the boys, including Jaden ran past me. All laughing. Then Lukas on all fours was right behind them making growling noises. They didn't seem to notice me at all, so I followed my nose to the kitchen.
Mom and Milan were at the stove and Alana sat on a stool at the bar like counter with Malia on her lap. She tried to reach for Alana's mug each time Alana took a sip from it.
"You know I find it quite hilarious that you two are forbidding me to cook in my own kitchen for you all." She said as she watched the two of them with a smile. "I mean I'm the hostess and you guys are my guests."
"Well for one thing bebita, you've been up late working on your online classes." Mom said.
"And two," Milan turned around to look at her with a serious face, "I love your kitchen."
They all broke out into girlish giggles. "Titi, you Elsa?" Mali asked her.
Alana looked down at her and smiled. "Maybe."
Malia giggled and clapped her hands.
The whole while I listened to them, Milan's words stuck with me the whole night. I couldn't fall asleep for the longest.
Maybe I should give her a chance. If mom can accept her, then I can as well.
The women continued their cheerful banter until Mom noticed me.
"Morning, Dean." She smiled cheerfully.
Alana tensed at the sound of my name. She didn't turn around or anything. Malia saw me and tried to climb out of her lap and Alana placed her on her feet.
I picked up my baby girl and kissed her forehead and walked towards them and gave Milan a peck on the lips and a kiss on my mother's cheek.
"Alana." I said, acknowledging her.
She pushed her glasses up on the bridge of her nose and nodded looking away. Immediately the mood dimmed substantially and I instantly felt bad. Both my mom and Milan's condemning stares were on me.
I sighed through my nose and glared back. That only deepened their looks.
"Where's Damon?" I asked.
"Probably sitting on the patio." Milan glared one last time before turning her back on me.
"And where is that?" I raised an eyebrow.
She pointed wordlessly towards the two sliding glass doors. I planted one last kiss on Mali's forehead before placing her on her feet again.
Heading to the sliding glass door, I heard a sad sigh.
"It's okay, hija." Mom comforted her.
"Yea, novio. He'll come around." Alana chimed in.
"Thanks." Alana said softly.
I shook my head and opened the door to find a screened in patio with a grill and patio furniture. Damon was sitting in one of the chairs with reading glasses on and a book in his hands.
He peered over the book at me and closed the book with a happy smile. "Dean m'boy! How are you?"
I shrugged and sunk in a chair across from him.
"Have you talked to your sister yet?" He asked.
"I don't want to talk to her." I grumbled.
He sat up in his seat and frowned deeply at me.
I scoffed and crossed my arms. "Why are you looking at me like that?"
"Listen here, Dean." He sat on the edge of his seat. "What you're not going to do is take all of your anger out on her. I won't allow it."
I nodded and ran my fingers through my hair. Feeling every ounce of anger rise to the surface.
"If you're going to be angry, be angry at me." He pointed to his self. "She doesn't deserve that treatment, Dean."
That's it. I'm tired of everyone telling me how I feel.
"Well you know what, Damon. I'm angry that I'm dragged all the way here for a woman who you claim is my half sister."
"I'm upset because you're dragging my mother into this after she found out about this whole affair that had her separated from us." My voice started to raise.
"And are you sure that she's even your child?" I raised an eyebrow.
He glowered at me, his face hardening with anger. "Yes, she's my child. Your sister. Our flesh and blood." He gestured emphatically at us. "Why can't you accept that?"
"Because. I don't want anything to do with this trip. After this, I don't want anything to do with you! She's not my sister! And I definitely don't want anything to do with her!" I stood up, yelling at the top of my lungs now.
Jesus. That felt good...
He stood up to yell at back, but his eyes softened when his eyes landed on someone behind me. I turned my head to see Alana standing there.
Her lower lip trembled and she wrung her sweater sleeves in her hands as her eyes filled to the brim with tears.
"Alana." Damon said quietly.
She shook her head and took a small step back. "I-I just wanted to tell you that breakfast is... It's ready." Then she dashed inside avoiding eye contact.
Crap...
"Nice going, Dean." He pushed past me.

When I say that breakfast was silent, even Mali's joyful banter was absent and so was the boys'. Milan and my mother ignored me the whole time.
Dad tried to talk to Alana but she ignored him and poked her food around her plate, not bothering to eat it.
But I felt Lukas' angry glare at me from across the table. The same glare I give people when they cross my family.
So that's how scary I look...
"So... the lot of us are going to sit here in absolute silence?" Allen looked around at us. "What's wrong? This table is usually bustling with jests and banter."
Alana slammed her fork down on her plate, cracking it and stood up. "I'm going for run." She walked out of the room.
Lukas looked at me as if he wanted to say something, but he quickly clamped his mouth shut and went after her.
"Nice going, Dean. You sure do know how to ruin relationships." Milan mumbled from beside me.
"What's wrong with Titi?" Nate asked my mom.
"Why don't you ask your father?" She sneered.
They all stared at me and Zac's eyes hazed over and he blinked rapidly and they turned back to normal and he shook his head at me and looked away.
"Let's just finish breakfast, okay." I said shortly.
