Day 02 » Remembrance

[ marinette ]

A knock came to my door.

"Mademoiselle Cheng, breakfast is ready!", I hear someone call at the door.

I sat up and rubbed my eyes, adjusting them to the light that fled into my room. Where was I...?

And then, I remembered yesterday's events. I won a contest. I'm spending 14 days with Adrien Agreste. I talked to Adrien Agreste yesterday. My brain cannot process this much information! The thought of Adrien already drives me wild enough, and now I'm living with him for 14 days? My heart!

I take a quick shower, change out of my nightgown, and wrap my hair in a towel before going downstairs to eat breakfast - with Adrien.

Seriously, if I keep on repeating his name in my head, I might lose control over my mind for him. I've already lost my heart to him, anyway.

When I got down, Adrien was already in the dining room, eating some Italian-looking dish. It looked delicious. I took the seat in front of him and took a bite of the dish. It was macaroni and cheese, but fancier? Still, it was macaroni and cheese, and I love it!

"Good morning, Mari.", he smiles cheekily at me, using the nickname he devised for me yesterday. Hearing him say this made my stomach do flips.

"Good morning, Adrien.", unfortunately, I was lame at making nicknames, so I just stuck with calling him Adrien.

"This tastes good. Like, sophisticated mac n' cheese.", I comment, before taking another big bite from the dish.

"Yeah, it is sophisticated mac n' cheese.", he chuckles, "I guess we're starting our day off with a little cheesy vibe, eh?"

I laugh at his horrible attempt at a pun. Seriously, if he was Alya, I would already throw this bowl of mac n' cheese at his face. But his face is too perfect to be thrown at...

"Oh! Before I forget, Chéyenne told me that we're going out for the day.", Adrien informs me, before chomping on a spoonful of mac n' cheese.

I was kind of disappointed. I just wanted to stay here and explore. Ah, well, I had twelve more days to do that, anyway. At least I'm spending this day with Adrien...

Okay, I should stop that. Saying his name in my head dreamily even when he's in front of me sounds weird, to be honest. I should just keep my cool around him. Which is impossible.

"Where are we going?", I inquire, finishing off the bowl and rinsing it with water in the sink.

"Wow, I never met a girl who eats that fast before.", he comments, "Well, come to think of it, Chloé, my mom, and Chéyenne are the only girls I've seen eating in my life."

I couldn't help but notice the sadness that flashed into his usually bright green eyes when he mentioned his mother.

I let out a strained chuckle at his statement, anyway, since he looked like he was waiting for a response.

"You didn't answer my question yet.", I tell him, placing the bowl in the dishwasher.

"Oh, right. Haha. Um, we're going to the fair today.", he scratches his nape as he says this, "But it's just gonna be the two of us."

My heart literally stopped in my chest - in a good way, of course. But then again, holy crap! Me, spend a day with Adrien, in public! My feels!

"Then again, what's so bad about it being just the two of us?", he chuckles - I have not yet gotten used to this fantastic sound he produces with his larynx - and then smiles at me, "We could get to know each other better! Plus, we get to do cool things!"

"That's awesome!", I say, just as excited as he is. We may not be twelve anymore, but we are still thrilled to go to the fair.

"If there are any booth games, I'm totally crushing you.", I challenge.

"Yeah? Well, we'll see about that.", he smirks at me, accepting my challenge.

There really is something with this Marinette girl that made me feel so drawn towards her.

She was witty, funny, and really attractive, but I knew that there was so much to Marinette than meets the eye.

I just wanted to get to know her better.

After all, I know that I made the right choice of picking her to be the winner when I first saw her walk in the mansion.

We were all set for the fair, and Chéyenne and the limo had just arrived to pick us up. I opened the door for Marinette, to which she said a small "thank you" to.

Such a small gesture, but she appreciated it anyway. Cute.

Chéyenne said something to the driver when we drove out of the mansion's façade, and off we were to the fair.

===

"The chaffeur and I will pick you two up at--", Chéyenne pauses to look at her watch, "--4:00 in the afternoon."

Chéyenne hands us a stack of money before walking back into the limo and driving away. I found it kind of weird that there weren't any bodyguards - maybe it's a privacy thing.

"So... Where should we go first, m'lady?", I ask Marinette, who was gaping at the sight of the fair.

A light pink color dusted her cheeks when I called her that. "M'lady?"

"I like nicknames.", I reason out, winking at her. It was partially true - I did like nicknames, but not to the extent where I called them in what seems like terms of endearment.

"Oh, Adrien, what is happening to you?", I think to myself. Seriously, this girl has this effect on me. She wasn't like any of the other girls I'd met - they all pounced on me like predator to prey. Marinette - she keeps her distance. She's shy, and she's humble. She looks so cute whenever she's flustered.

"Well, I- uh, I'd like to go on...", she scans the fair, tapping her finger on her chin, as if she was contemplating on where to go first, "...that ride."

She points to the teacups. I smile at the thought, wanting to go on them, too.

"Sure thing, m'lady."

I take her hand and hold it tight as we make our way to the teacups.

Ohmygodohmygodohmygodohmygodohmygod.

Adrien Agreste is holding my hand - tightly, might I add - and called me "m'lady"!

If the past two days were a dream, I never ever want to wake up.

We waited in line - which was just really short, actually - and then got on a teacup. When it started spinning, the hold of his hand on mine got tighter, and his wonderful larynx continued to produce the sound that is categorized as a 'laugh'. Oh my god, I could record his laugh on my phone and play it on repeat for the rest of my life. Heck, if I die on this ride, I'd request his laugh to be played as I'm lowered into the grave on my funeral. I'm not kidding.

The ride ended soon, and we got off.

"Where to, now, m'lady?", he asks. His hand was still holding mine. I'm never washing this hand again.

"Let's play those booth games.", I remember my challenge for him a few moments back, smirking.

He smirks back. "It's on."

===

About ten rides, thirty booth games, three stuffed bear prizes - I won all of them, Adrien was lame at the dart games -  and a few snacks later, Adrien and I realized we had spent almost all the money we were given.

"Where should we waste the last of these?", I ask him, gesturing to the money, as I hugged a stuffed bear tight. Adrien offered to carry the other two, so I let him.

"Hmm...", he looks around, then his eyes settle on a photo booth from afar. He points to it with his lips - oh god, his lips - and we both make our way to it.

"One set of four pictures for one franc.", I read the signage aloud. Adrien counts the money we had left.

"We have six francs left.", he says, "How about we finish this money up and split the photos between each other, yeah? So we can have remembrance from day two out of fourteen."

I blushed at the thought of that - a remembrance. Alya is going to freak out when I show her those pictures.

We enter the cramped space, holding up the stuffed bears so they could be seen. Adrien dropped the coins in the slot and we got ready for the pictures.

We shot so many funny looks. And, when he pressed his lips against my cheek on that fourth set, I swear my face was as red as a tomato and that my heartbeat could be heard a thousand miles away. After two shots of that was taken, he looked at me with a sheepish smile.

Later on, we got the photos from the slot that printed it and I swear that it was only then when I realized that Adrien frickin Agreste kissed my frickin cheek for two frickin pictures and I am so going to die with these frickin feels.

These two days couldn't have gotten any better.

I S2G I WAS SCREAMING MY LUNGS OUT AT THAT LAST PART I AM NOT KIDDING MY BROTHER LITERALLY CALLED MY PARENTS AND ASKED THEM IF I SHOULD BE TAKEN TO A MENTAL HOSPITAL

But that's not the fluffiest thing they'll be doing in this book, hehe ;) - that's a cheeky wink btw - I wonder what I'd do when the best part comes?¿ I'd probably eat a sht ton of whipped cream to keep me from yelling too much agh

Also, Marinette is trying to hide her inner fangirl here. She's like, trying to keep it cool, but her mind's all like "JDJWKFJSJFJWJFJUWHOLYFUCKINGSHITADRIENFUCKINGAGRESTEHELDMYFUCKINGHANDIAMNEVERWASHINGTHISMOTHERFUCKINGHANDEVERAGAINJWJFJAKCJSJCHUSHC"

I mean, if I won 14 days with Ashton Irwin and got to hold his hand I would probably not just mentally scream, but also jump off a cliff bc #feels !¡

Okay that's all I have to say lol

Vote and comment if you enjoyed! xx

Stay wonderful :)
