Chapter title: Endera Meberi (Continue On)

Background: Fiction based on what I imagined the interface behind Minecraft would look like. How the players are all code, everything is code and this one character, the one narrator, screwed everything up.

I looked around at the world that used to be full of life and color. A world that I had spent a lifetime of work on. All my friends had left this torn world. My friends that I would call family. I was in a dead world, a world with broken code. Even now, I risked my own life standing here in the ruins of a civilization.

I was here to make sure no one else could enter this cursed world. My hands shook as they gathered the necessary items to delete this world. It was essential I complete my task, even as my heart fought valiantly against my mind.

I built the command cube that I invented. The one that would delete where my story had begun. As I typed in a command, my stomach clenched. The broken code was hammering on mine, trying to tear me apart. Even as I hit the button to set a timer, I wished I could undo what had been done.

Pearl's voice rang in my head as I summoned a teleporter. "Enderera Mberi. It means continue on. Even though we lose people we love, we continue forwards. It may be hard, but we can always continue."

I felt myself warp out of the world and I fell to my knees in the emptiness of the void. That was the way we teleported through worlds. Tears streamed down my face as I tried to gather myself together.

"I know I will never see you again, Pearl. I know I have lost yet another world that I have spent my life in. But I will follow your last words, Pearl. I will continue on."

Continue on, my brave friends. Whatever you are facing, continue on. This is a teaser for this book. In case you get confused this is not the beginning of the book. Consider it a trailer for a movie.
