Brynn's POV

I gripped my swords tightly. My hands trembled as I desperately tried to keep my focus.

Suddenly the bastard swung his arm. I jumped back while Eren jumped forward, hooking onto the colossal Titan. I got blasted back a bit from the force of the colossal titan knocking the cannon and it's tracks off the wall, as well as half the rocks lining the top.

Suddenly it reached for Eren. I hooked onto his hand and started zooming towards him as Eren hooked onto his arm and swung up to his nape. He landed on his arm and ran out of my sight. I tried to keep the giant fuck's attention but he wasn't looking at me. I growled and hooked onto his face to grab his attention. Still nothing. I heard Eren scream "dammit!!" Taking my attention away from the beast infront for me. Suddenly steam blinded me. It burnt and my eyes slammed shut, refusing to open. I retreated and hooked onto the wall, coughing heavily. When I looked up, he was gone.

Eren landed beside me and we both looked around in astonishment. "Eren! Where'd it go?! Did you scare him away or take him out ?!" I heard Thomas yell. I scaled the wall and sat on the edge, catching my breath. "He's gone ! Exactly like 5 years ago!" Eren yelled back up. "He's here one moment and gone the next! Just like that!" He yelled.

I spotted Connie out of the side of my eye. I'd never been so glad to see that little bald head. "Oi! amadán.. give me a hand up would ya ?.." I asked. I saw him roll his eyes but help me up anyway.

I only now notice Eren was back up and talking to Thomas. "Hey! Wallow on your own time ! If you haven't noticed there's a breach!" Connie yelled. "No shit captain obvious" I mutter. "Shut it! If we don't act now and they start pouring in we're done for !" Connie yelled at me, making me flinch. "Look alive ! The Colossal Titan Response Operation is already underway! Return to HQ at once! Anyone who's come into contact with it, remember to give a report! " a soldier yelled as he landed on the wall.

We salutes him. "Sir! We hope the advance team is victorious!" Connie yelled as they rushed past us.

About half an hour later we were back at HQ. We were still a little shaken but for the most part fine. "Out of the frying pan and into the fire cadets! Time to put your training to work! I have faith each of you will be a credit to your regiment!" A captain yelled at us as we all rushed around to get our supplies. I refilled my gas tanks, changed my blades and sharpened my hooks. Everything needed to me perfect. I even re did my braid, having the voice of my uncle in the back of my head saying I need to cut it or tie it up because it is too damn long and will get caught. I don't need to be scalped while running for my life.

I glanced up to see Eren trying to cam a shaking Armin while mikasa stood beside them in silence. I sighed.  The scouts left today.. I hoped by the time I'd get in the people I grew up with would be alive.. probably not though.

The wall was most likely breached by now.. the garrison guarding it as good as dead. Yet everyone should have been evacuated and all of the gates are shut and probably even more heavily guarded then normal.. if the armoured Titan comes the human race will be dead within the afternoon. I amn't letting that happen..

We were all called to the centre of the hq. We all lined up and listened to our commanders. "I want everyone split up into 4 squads as practiced ! All squadrons are responsible for supply running, message relay and enemy combat under the command of the garrison regiment ! The inner south squadron will be taking the vanguard ! Cadets will be taking the middle guard led by the support squad! Rear guard will go to the elites ! I expect you all to man your post, knowing the advance team has bean wipped out!" Everyone gasped. Damn... "That's right! The outer gate is history! The Titans are in! This means the armoured Titan is likely to reappear !" The commander yelled at us. The memory of when it looked like he bowed his head in respect as if he knew me flashed before my eyes. I shook my head and muttered, telling myself to focus. "If and when he does, the inner gate will also be history! " the commander continued. Everyone started muttering. Thinking about If this is just a horrible nightmare, that they wanted to go home and what if they got through wall rose ?.. what then ?.. "GUIET" the commander screamed, getting our attention and making us go silent. "Right! Those in the vanguard be ready! The whole area is well now saturated! Your mission is a very simply one !defend the wall till the evacuation is done ! Now he aware all is you that desertion is punishable by execution ! If it comes to it, lay down your lives ! Dismissed !" He finished.

"Sir!" We all yelled as we saluted. Well I have no family anyway. Now shame in following the crowd and dying by Titans.

I leaned against a wall and gathered my thoughts, looking up at the sky. No one was around me.. well close enough to hear me talking to myself atleast. May aswell do it...

"Hey... you listening?.. Erwin would always tell me that you are watching me. That's why I've been so damn lucky. I've never been one to believe in miracles but.. please don't let me die today.. tomorrow.. next week.. next month.. any other day but today. If I die tomorrow after I've joined the scouts I'll be happy.. that's all that's left for me in life. I will live and die as a scout, just like you and dad did... actually how about we make a deal.. if dad's alive you let me live when I'm about to die.. I'd he's dead, then let me rot.. deal?..." I asked. Obviously I got no reply but I still smirked to myself. Let's do this..
