I could hear the sounds of fighting from my hiding spot. Optimus had told me to stay clear even though I had been training with him for months. But I couldn't argue with a Prime even if he used to be Orion Pax, my best friend. It's strange knowing that my best friend is now a Prime.

I held my breath as I heard the sounds of fighting stop but then I hear Optimus shout, "Moon Princess, fall back!" I felt oil gathering in the edges of my optics but I brushed them away and ran to where my ship was hidden. I started it and flew away from my home planet. 

I had heard rumors of a place with energon so I set my sensors on it and flew there. It took a while but I got there. I ended up crash landing my ship and ending up in stasis.

When I woke up, I was still in the middle of nowhere. I saw a small town in the distance but not wanting to scare the natives to this world, I found something that I liked. It was motorcycle and it was nice. 

I went into the city trying to follow the traffic laws. I had studied about the human race a lot before coming into town so I knew what most of the traffic laws were. I took on a form as a native from this world. I knew I couldn't go by Luna or Moon Princess so I decided to go by Layla. It meant night which was nice.

My new form had long, sleek black hair with two bigger blue highlights and three smaller silver highlights. It kind of matched my true form. I kept my outfit simple.  A black dress with a few blue streaks with tank top like sleeves. It looked very nice. (picture at top)

I found a house but I realized I didn't have anything to pay for it. I was going to have to get a job if I was going to stay in this form.

I looked around town and found that the only place that was hiring was what I thought to be a fast food restaurant.

I walked in and walked up to the register.

"I saw a sign that you're hiring. Are there any positions that you need to be filled?", I ask politely.

"We do have one more position that needs filled. And we could really use some help", the woman behind the register said.

"I can fill it. I am a hard worker and can work quickly and well even under stress", I say.

"You're hired! You'll be helping Jack prepare food for the drive in", the woman said.

"Alright. When do you want me to start working?", I ask.

"Now would be great. Also what is your name?", she asks.

"My name is Layla", I smile.

"What a pretty name!", she said as she guides me to where I'll be working. I see a tall black haired teenager with a sulky expression on his face.

"Welcome to KO Drive in, where every patties a knockout, May I take your order?", he said sounding extremely bored.

The people ordered and I started making it.

"Okay, dos número twos. Anything else?", he asked sounding a bit more polite.

The two jerks said something and I could hear them laughing. I growled slightly.

"5.59 sir. At the window", he growls.

I smile at that and turn to face him with their meals ready.

He looks surprised but once Kathleen, the woman who hired me, explained, he nodded saying he understood. I smile and wait for them to come to the window.

Politely, I hand them their food and then they drive off, without paying. I could hear them laughing as they dove away. I growled as Jack yells, "hey!! I have to pay for that!"

"Hey it's okay Jack. You'll be fine. You've survived this far right?", I say.

"Barely", he muttered. Our shift ended at the same time and I went outside with Jack. I went over to my alt-mode while Jack went to his bike. He paused when he saw my alt-mode.

"Is that yours?", he asked in disbelief.

I nod and smile at his disbelief. He then sees another bike and walks over to it... when I saw the paint job, my spark jolted.

I recognized the paint job... that was Arcee... as Jack was sitting on top of her, I saw two vehicons and my spark dropped... just my luck. Seeing one of my old friends and then finding vehicons.

I could hear bits of what they were saying.

"Commander Starscream, target sighted. Accompanied by a human youth", one of the vehicons stated while Arcee took off in a rush.

Screamer said something and they started chasing after Arcee. I then followed them.

I followed them without them realizing it. Arcee dropped Jack off somewhere and sped up. But to my dismay and probably hers, one of the vehicons followed Jack.

Arcee turned around and sped towards the vehicons chasing her. She jumped over him and I watched as she caught up with Jack. He hopped onto her and they sped off towards the highway. The vehicons followed her and I followed them.

As we drive onto the highway, I see another paint job that I missed so much. Bumblebee!! Arcee drives off the road and leaps onto the ground still in vehicle mode.

I am still following Bee but I am not too far behind. The vehicons manage to knock Arcee off her pedes but Bee comes in and helps her.

I stay back not sure I want anyone to know I'm here. But when I see Bee get knocked down while Arcee is still recovering and hear a child's voice yell, "leave him alone", I know I have to blow my cover.

I land in my alt mode and get rid of my human form. I transform and scowl at the con who had Bee's head under his pede.

"Get off of him", I say softly. I hear Bee buzz my name and I look at him in horror.

"Bee! What happened to your voice?", I yell.

The con looks terrified and about to run but I grab him and punch him in the face.

Bee runs to protect the humans and I punch the living out of the con. "You hurt my friends, I hurt you", I growl but let him escape.

I see Arcee and Bee staring at me. Then a bulky bot that I didn't know shows up.

"Um... Arcee, Bee?", I ask quietly.

Bee then hugs me and I hug him back. He buzzed at me happily.

"I missed my adopted brother too", I say.

Arcee looked confused. "Bee's parental units adopted me when I was little. Then they kicked me out when the war started", I explain.

Arcee nodded. Bee buzzed some more and I immediately started freaking out.

"What?! Optimus is here?! On this planet?!", I practically shrieked.

"Yeah, he is. Why?", the bulky bot asked.

"Um... I never got your name, you know", I said avoiding his question.

"Oh! My bad! I'm Bulkhead", he said.

"Nice to meet you Bulkhead. I'm Moon Princess but you can call me Luna", I say with a smile.

"Nice to meet you,  Luna", Bulkhead says.

"Yes, yes. You've been introduced. Now, Luna, you never answered Bulkhead's question", Arcee says with a smirk.

I groan. "Arcee, you already know why...", I say, "tell them when I'm not here." I gesture to Bee and Bulkhead.

"Aren't you coming back to base with us?", Bulkhead asks. I shook my head.

"I don't want Optimus knowing I'm back yet. I want to see if he remembers me", I say quietly while looking to the ground.

Arcee smiled. "We understand Luna. But how will you hide yourself?"

"Like this", I say as I transform into my alt-mode and my human form appears next to it. I smile and wave at them in my human form.

"Tell Optimus that two boys and one girl caught you fighting decepticons", I say as I climb onto my alt mode. "See ya!" And I speed off to a cave where I'll be staying while I wait for a while before I get enough to pay for a house.

The next day, I meet Jack after school for them. Jack was talking to a younger kid. I'm assuming it's the one who shouted out.

"Hey guys, can you keep a secret?", I asked.

They both nodded and I told them my secret.

"I'm not actually human. I'm from Cybertron", I say.

"What's Cybertron?", Raf asks.

"You'll find out. And no telling anyone except for Arcee, Bee, and Bulkhead. They know", I say with a twinkle in my eyes. I did notice the butterflies in my stomach as well.

Bee pulled up and honked. Raf got in and told Jack that his was over in a specific direction. I looked and saw Arcee and smiled at Jack and motioned for him to go on.

"It won't be like yesterday, I promise", I say with kind eyes and a smile.

I get on my alt mode and follow Bee. But we did wait for Arcee and I saw Arcee with two humans instead of just one... we all got to base at the same time and entered. I smiled as I feel the familiarity. I smile as I see the old doc bot but my stomach grew not just butterflies but fragging elephants!! I park my alt mode and I almost immediately hear the thuds of Optimus' pedes stepping on the grounds and I turn to see him a big smile on my face. He looks just like I last saw him. I smile happily but the elephants in my stomach make me very nervous.

Suddenly I realized that I was not paying attention to what Optimus was saying.

Oh... he's talking about the war... I don't want to listen to this but I do holding back the tears of sadness for all those we lost... we lost so many in the war on Cybertron and now it's here on Earth. How many more are we going to lose before Megatron finally decides he's had enough or until someone kills him?

"We need to assign them guardians to watch over them", Optimus says. "Bumblebee, you will watch over Rafael. Bulkhead, you will watch over Miko. Ratchet-"

"I'm busy!", the medic called out.

"Arcee, you will watch over Jack", Optimus finished.

Arcee said something but I didn't pay attention because so far, I had no guardian. I was hoping that I wouldn't get one.

"Layla. I will be your guardian", Optimus says. I freeze and process this... optimus is... he'll find out before I need him to...

"But I'm 19. I don't need a guardian", I protested.

"And yet the decepticons are out there and they will stop at nothing to get to me... it is for your safety", he says. I sigh, knowing he had won. He always won. Even before he was a Prime. I smile softly at the memories of me messing around with Orion Pax.

"Layla, it is time for you to go home", Optimus said...

"Yeah... about that... I don't have a home...", I said...

"You mean you're homeless?", he asked.

"I've been homeless for a very long time. I did have adopted parents for a while but then they kicked me out. After they did though, I ran into what was soon to be my best friend. He hasn't seen me for years", I say looking down.

Ratchet was listening and I had a feeling he knew who I was... I hope he did, I kinda missed the grouchy old doc bot.

"He hasn't seen you for years?", Optimus questioned.

"Well, he's seen me but he doesn't recognize me...", I say sadly.

"Why not", Optimus asked.

"I do not know", I lie looking away to hide the tears.

"Would you like this to be your home,, since you do not have one", he asked.

"I can really live here?", I ask quietly.

"Of course", Optimus says.

"Thank you", I say.
