"You know what? Indraprasth's Crown prince Arjun and Panchal's princess had been married in their childhood itseems." Exclaimed a maid.

"Almost the whole Aryavart is talking about it. It has become a sensational topic." said another maid.

"Rajkumar Arjun ha-" stopped as she saw their princess coming towards them. They bowed their heads down as the princess of Magadh, Sangeetha stood in front of them with a questioning look.

"You both were talking something. About Rajkumar Arjun and something? What's the matter?" Sangeetha asked.

"Nothing Rajkumari..." one of the maid stammered.

"It's okay. Relax and tell the matter. Anyway it will reach us anytime. If I know it early, there's no loss or no gain." Sangeetha smiled.

"There are rumours that Rajkumar Arjun of Indraprasth is already married to Rajkumari Draupadi of Panchal in their childhood." the other maid finally said.

"What!" Sangeetha exclaimed horrified.

"Huh. Yes Rajkumari. Their parents informed them now itseems. But we don't know the real fact. We just heard the rumours. We have to go. Maharani was calling us. Pardon." the maids bowed and walked off.

"Arjun is married?" Sangeetha whispered under her breath as tears rolled down from her doe shaped eyes.

She had received Arjun's letter a day before. And today she got this shocking news. "No Sangeetha, it's just a rumour!" she tried to console herself, but what if it's the truth?

If it's the truth then Arjun will surely come to meet her. She made her way to the outskirts of the kingdom where they both usually met. Everytime she used to wait for him sitting on a rock over there but today, she wanted him not to come here. She wished that what she heard was just a rumour.

She has heard about the princess of Panchal, the most beautiful women of the Aryavart, kind, humble and loving. She may be perfect for Arjun but what about her?

Though she tried to keep the thought away from her, she couldn't. Her intuitions were expecting the worst but she still wished for the best.

Sangeetha was a very kind princess of the most powerful kingdom, Magadh. She had learnt warfare and was active in politics though she didn't like it too much. She took part in politics for the sake of her father. She loved her subjects and they loved her back. She loved spending time with ordinary people as an ordinary girl not as a princess. She was very pretty and brilliant too. Her many characteristics resembled Draupadi's.

She waited there till the evening. She had prepared her mind to the worst and hoped for the best. As the time was passing, she felt a new ray of hope which made her smile.

But that smile soon faded as she heard the galloping of horse. She knew the sound of the gallops. She knew, he is here. She knew, what she heard as a rumour was not just a rumour. She knew, she had to sacrifice.

She hastily wiped her tears and tried her best to smile welcoming Arjun. Arjun was shocked seeing her smiling but at the next moment he got to know the smile which was hiding the tears. He got down from his horse and went to her.

"Sangeetha, you might be knowing about the matter right?" He asked his head bent low.

"Yes, I do! And many congratulations for it. I am so happy for you!" Sangeetha exclaimed.

"How can you be Sangeetha? Don't. Don't try to hide your pain from me. I know you from 2 years and. And please don't say like this." Arjun cried.

"Arjun? I don't understand why you are crying. What's there to cry? You have a wife, you have a responsibility, you have someone who will love you throughout. And look at you!" Sangeetha chuckled.

"Sangeetha, was there nothing between us? We loved for 2 years and you are saying like this. I came for you Sangeetha. We will go to Indraprasth, we will inform my parents there and then we will marry each other and lead a blissful life. If at all our parents don't agree, we will marry somewhere else and forsake our kingdoms." Arjun said in one go.

"And what about Draupadi? Was it her fault that she was married to you in her childhood? You are a man. And this society agrees even if you marry a million times. But she? Society will not approve it. What has she done to suffer her life all alone. I am still unmarried Arjun. I can marry anyone. But she can't." Sangeetha tried to explain.

"So what do you expect me to do? Forget everything? Do you think I can? Do you think you can forget everything? No Sangeetha. It's impossible. No." Arjun begged.

"That's the only possible way. I don't wish to be a co-wife. Every girl feels the same. Draupadi may not be comfortable with having a co-wife. If I was in her place, nor would I be. So, the best way is to move on." Sangeetha smiled.

"How?" Arjun cried. He was shocked to the core hearing her. He didn't expect this. Never in his dreams did he. Arjun had dreamt the future with her and now everything felt darkened, the world infront of him broke into pieces.

"Bhrata Vasudev knew about this right?" Sangeetha asked to which Arjun nodded. "Do you think he can be wrong in this decision? Has he done anything which will affect you badly? Do you think he wants your future to get destroyed?" Sangeetha asked softly.

Arjun nodded his head in negative crying. "You get the answer there. He's like a brother to me. And he's your best friend. Do you think he will do such a thing that will destroy both our lives? No! He can't. When he has taken some decision like this, then there would be some reason behind it. Trust him, him and his decision."

Arjun collapsed there on the ground. He couldn't believe what he was hearing. She's going. Going away from him. He hadn't already digested the fact that he was married and now this. He was helpless. He didn't know what he could do.

"We will be coming to Panchal for your brother in law's wedding. Be ready to welcome your best friend. I am already excited to meet my best friend's wife! All the best for your future life. I wish you both the best! And if there's some celebration on the occasion of your wedding, don't forget to invite me!" Sangeetha giggled and walked off.

Arjun sat there, not knowing what to do. The one thing he always dreaded to know turned out to bring this drastic change in his life. He was broken inside out. Just broken.
