Chapter 6- Return, Only For More Messes

"You know what? I'm sure she's the right choice,"

"Are you sure? She doesn't have the memories, how are you sure that the spirit is the one?"

"Because honey, it's the tiny spark in her. Have I ever been wrong?"

"Several times, almost everyday,"

"Ouch, hurtful,"

"I love you either way,"

"I love you too. Trust me on this one,"

"I will,"

"I hope to see you again Water girl, it's been nice to talk to you," You bowed at Katara, who gave a weak smile and hugged you. You grinned and hugged her back, lifting her up a little.

"Careful now little one, don't hurt my mother," Tenzin said as he made sure Katara was alright. You gave one last wave before you jumped on the saddle. You looked to see that Korra was watching, and you both made eye contact. You waved at her, and she gave a small smile before waving back.

"This place was fun, wasn't it fun spirit? I bet it was for you! Does the spirit world have any snow? Is it all colorful, or is it dark and spooky?" Ikki kept on asking you questions, and you simply listened to her rambling as Tenzin made Oogie fly.
"Ikki please..." Tenzin muttered.

Katara watched Oogie fly away, and wiped a tear away from her eyes.
"Katara?" One of the White Lotus sentry walked up to the waterbender, who turned to him with a tiny smile.

"Would you be able to write a letter to the Fire Nation? It's for an old friend,"

"And Furryfoot is very cuddly! Whenever I get nightmares, he'll be in my arms in a flash!" You told the kids, watching and listening with fascination as you sat at a table with them, and Pema bringing out all kinds of food to the table.

"Alright everyone, enough talking, and dig in," She smiled and the kids immediately started to grab a plate and eat. You on the other hand, sat there in a little shock and with hunger.

You looked down at the various of food in front of you, and you hesitantly looked up at them.
"Are you sure? I don't mean to take your food," You told them as you already felt like you were intruding in their lives.

"Nonsense, we took you in, so show us your gratitude by eating," Pema soothes you, and you nodded, slowly looking at the utensils on the table. You looked back at the family, slowly reaching out your hand to grab the food, and slowly placed it in your mouth.

And oh my Lion Turtle, how you fell in love.

You instantly started to grab fistfuls of the food on your plate.
They all watched in fascination as you continued to devour all of the food at the table. You gulped it all down and reached over for a glass of water, chugging it down with water pouring from the sides of your mouth.

"You must be, really hungry," Pema muttered, and you set the glass down with a toothy grin.
"I know spirits don't eat, but something about the taste makes me feel all tingly inside," You grinned, continuing to gobble down their food.

"No kidding! Between an eating contest between you and Meelo, you would for sure win!" Ikki teased her brother, who huffed.
"Oh yeah? Bring it spirit!! Eating contest!" He demanded, in which Pema quickly shut him down.

You continued to eat, each bite made you melt more and more.
'I have to show this to Sifu Iroh when I get back!' You thought, swallowing the food you stuffed.
"Jinora," You started, and the girl looked up from her plate as you took a swig.

"Would you be able to tell me all about bending?" You asked Jinora, who's eyes sparkled.
"Really?" She asked, and you nodded, slurping up some tea.
"My Sifus would tel me that you humans could bend the elements, however, they never told me the history behind it, nor what the Vatar is,"

Jinora and Ikki giggled as Pema covered her smile at your phrasing for 'Avatar'.
"It's not Vatar, it's Avatar. It's the one who controls all four elements: water, earth, fire, and air. Each element was originally divided into nations," She started out as you listened in.

"The Fire Nation attacked all other elements, wanting only Firebenders in the world, but the previous Avatar stopped the war with the help of his friends," You listened carefully as she explained that Korra was the Avatar, and she needed to learn airbending.

"Woah... I gotta say, all of this Avatar stuff, it fees like I know all of this bef-" You didn't finish your sentence started to cough very violently again, and the humans looked at you with concern.

Suddenly, you spat out a giant glob of blood, and wiped some drips from your mouth.
"Much better," You sighed with a smile, but the humans did not let that go.

"WHAT WAS THAT?!"

"HONEY, ARE YOU OKAY?!"

"THAT WAS SICK!!"

"HOW ARE YOU SO CALM?!"

Just as you were about to answer, Tenzin came in, rubbing his forehead and turned to you just as you cleaned up the blood.

"Little one, would you come with me please?"

"If you need to remain here, why couldn't you let others handle the Avatar?" You asked as you and Tenzin walked through the police station to get Korra, who made a similar mess like you in Republic City.

"As the son of the previous Avatar, it is my duty to watched over the current Avatar, no matter how much trouble she gets,"  He sighed and knocked on a metal door, which opened to reveal Lin and Korra, who appeared to be cuffed.

"Lin, you are looking radiant as usual," Tenzin started out, but Lin just shut him up.
"Cut the garbage, Tenzin. Why is the Avatar in Republic City? I thought you were supposed to be moving down to the South Pole to train her," She hissed out and pointed at Korra.

"My relocation has been delayed. The Avatar, on the other hand, will be heading back to the South Pole immediately, where she will stay put," He firmly explained, making Korra look up.
"But-" She started out.

"If you would be so kind as to drop the charges against Korra, I will take full responsibility for today's regrettable events and cover all the damages," He told the chief, who sighed and crossed her arms.

"Fine," She lifted the restraints from Korea's wrists.
"Get her out of my city," She harshly whispered, and looked down at you.
"And I thought I told you to have that thing away from me," You just gave her a nervous smile and hid behind Tenzin.

"Always a pleasure, Lin," Tenzin bowed and motioned for you and Korra.
"Let's go, you two," He said as Korra and Lin glared at each other while making 'I'm watching you' signs.
"Bye Metal lord," You casually said and followed the two humans out.

Lin simply huffed and crossed her arms again, but then thought for a moment.

"Metal lord... that sounds familiar,"

After getting Nala, Tenzin sent Korra to the docks, where the White Lotus were waiting. You noticed Korra looking upset, so you placed a hand on her arm.

"It's okay Ko Ko, Sifu Twinkle is just frustrated," You tried to reassure Korra, who gave a small smile and slowly placed a hand on your head.
"Hey, your hair is surprisingly soft," She mumbled, making you smile.

Just then, Jinora, Ikki, and Meelo glided down the dock in front of you three.
"Are you coming to live with us on the island?" Ikki eagerly asked Korra, but she simply shook her head sadly.

"No, I'm sorry, Ikki. I have to go home now," She replied, making the kids sad. Just as Korra brought Nala to follow, you heard the taller human speak up.
"Wait," Korra stopped as you all turned to Tenzin, who cleared his throat.

"I have done my best to guide Republic City toward the dream my father had for it, but you're right. It has fallen out of balance since he passed. I thought I should put off your training in order to uphold his legacy, but you are his legacy. You may stay and train airbending here with me. Republic City needs its Avatar once again," He explained and placed a hand on Korea's shoulder.

"Yes! Thank you! You're the best!" Korra cheered and hugged the kids and Tenzin. You smiled at the display, quietly plucking your stings again.
"Hey," You looked up to see Korra holding out her hand for you.

"You're part of this group hug, come on!" She smiled, and your tailed wagged a little as you ran and tackled them to the ground, making them yelp. You just laughed and picked all of them up with ease, setting them down.

"Woah! You're very strong!"

"Oh you have no idea,"

Oh jeez, sorry if this took so long to update, it's been a wild ride in my life, good and bad things happened, but I'm still here!
