Avery's P. O. V

     As I walked into the house the first person I saw was the woman who greeted me the first time I was here.

    "My love, how are you?",Aunt Amelia said as she pecked my cheeks.

    " Good aunt and you?",I asked.

    "Now, I saw you I am feeling better", she said and I smiled. Aunt Amelia, she knows how to make me feel better.

     " Aunt Amy, let her relax a bit before lunch, we have had a long day and I want her to rest a bit. You can whine her later but for now let my baby sleep",he said and I felt butterflies.

    "Yeah, sure", his Aunt said.

   " Babe, I don't want to change now, I am okay. ",I whispered.

    " I insist",he said.

     "After dinner, I promise I will rest", I promised.

     " Fine.",he said.

     "How is my daughter doing?",Joel's mother said behind Aunt Amelia.

      " I am good and you,mum?",I asked as we air-kiss.

     "Great. Avery meet my twin sister Annalisa. Annalisa meet our daughter, Joel's girlfriend, Avery", mum said.

     " Nice to see you. You have no idea how long I have waited to meet you.",Aunt Annalisa said as she hugged me.

    "Nice meeting you, Aunt", I said as we pulled away.

      "My priceless gem, we will see later",Aunt said and left.

     " My Aunts can be crazy and annoying but you will love them I promise ",he said.

    " Its okay. I don't have an Aunt who can annoy or frustrate or even an uncle",I said sadly.

    "Doesn't your dad or mum have siblings?", Joel asked as we entered.

     " My dad is an only child and as for my mum, I have no idea if she's an only child or not. But its cool, your family loves me and that's enough for me. I just hope they will still love me when we break up",I said.

   He took my hand in his and said,"We are never going to break up, so don't talk about it again, okay babe?".

     "Sorry, taken", I smiled. He bent his head a little and kissed my lips.

      " Get a room, couz",I heard a voice say. I and Joel pulled away from each other. Joel looked at him and smiled.

      "Hey Couz,long time. Seems you remembered us today", Joel said as they did their bro handshake.

    " Yeah, long time. I never forgot you guys, I have just been busy with stuffs. When I heard you were introducing your girlfriend to the family, I decided not miss it for the world",his cousin said.

    "Let me introduce myself since my little couz sees me as a threat. I am Jacob Kwame, I am Joel's cousin. I am a Ghanian and you are?", Jacob asked as he stretched his hand.

    "I am Avery Adebisi and I am his girlfriend and a Nigerian. Nice knowing you", I shaked his hands. He kissed my hand and that made me smile.

    " Enough, Jacob. ",Joel said as he removed Jacobs hand from mine. Seeing him this jealous is surprisingly cute.

    "Uncle Jeremiah and Nehemiah are present oo", Jacob said.

    " Woow, that's surprising due to the fact that they are hardly present for family reunion ",Joel said.

    " Did Uncle Jeremiah brings his children? ",Joel asked.

    "Nah, if he brought the twins do you think I will have your time", Jacob joked.

    "Let me say hello to them.", Joel said to Jacob.

    " You have such a lovely girlfriend by the way ",Jacob said to me

  " Thanks it means a lot ",I said.

   " In case you both break up, call me so we could hook up. I will always be at your service. Anything for my favourite Couz girlfriend ",Jacob whispered in my ears.

   " Get out of here",Joel said and jokingly pushed him away from here.

   "Fine. Bye princess", Jacob said and left.

   " Why were you chasing him away?",I asked.

    "He was trying to get to me. He is Aunt Amelia's son by the way", he said.

    " I see the resemblance",I said.

    "Feel free. Give me a minute, I want to say hi to my cousins. Hope you don't mind?",Joel asked.

    " No, I don't but don't stay too long",I said and he nodded. He kissed me on the cheek and left.

     I was taking to one of Joel's cousin, I can't really remember his name,Seth I think. Anyways I was talking to Seth and Angel but Angel had to answer her mum so she left. I and Seth were talking before I saw Josh and Mary walking in together holding hands.

   "Let's go, let's me show you the house", Seth said.

   " I am good",I said.

   "I insist", he said as he dragged me.

     Seth was showing me my room and everything before Mary walked by and said." He is mine,at last ".

   " Excuse me",I asked her and turned to her direction.

    "I mean Josh is finally mine. All thanks to your infidelity", she said again.

   "Are you talking to me?", I asked cause I wasn't sure who she was talking to, the Mary I know of won't talk to me like this.

      " Yeah or is there any other unfaithful tramp like you",she said and I slapped her.

    "Talk to me like that again and you will get more than a slap", I angrily said.

    " You don't know who you messed with ",she said.

    " Yeah right. Your stupid cousin and her best friend has said the same thing yet nothing has happened ",I said.

    " I am not my cousin or her best friend but trust me, we will get you so bad you won't know what hit you",she said.
 
    "Josh can never fall for an emotional thing with no sense like you, dumb ass",she insulted me.

    I was about to pounce on her before Seth drew me out of where she was. As I was in the sitting room, my eyes met Josh and I swear, I felt angry, the hatred I had for him increased, it's because of him that thing insulted me.

    " Are you okay?",my dad asked me.

    "Yes, I am fine", I said and we went to the dinning room.

      Aunt Annalisa was about coming to the dinning room before she saw my dad. When she saw him she ran back, my dad looked at me and shaked his head. It was only I, Joel and my dad that saw her.

    After we were done with dinner we were all in the sitting room watching a movie before Joel took an excuse saying he wants to get something.

    When he got back,he asked me to stand up, I obeyed. " Don't mind my family members. Just imagine its just you and I,okay?",he said.

    "Okay", I said and that made me relax.

    "Happy anniversary baby", he said and gave me two package. Jeez, I can't believe I forgot today is our eight month anniversary.

     " Sorry I forgot ",I said feeling guilty.

   " I understand. You just finished your exams, I know there are a lot of things on your mind  so I don't blame you. Sincerely speaking, I wasn't expecting anything from you",he said. When I looked into the package he gave me, I saw a handbag, a wrist watch and an expensive perfume with amazing shoes and sandals with slippers.

   "I thought our anniversary was weeks away am sorry. I didn't want to give you this now but after seeing this amazing things you bought for me, I will have to give it to you, I can surprise you some other time.
  
     I left for our room and came back with an envelope and a gift bag.

  " Take this ",I handed him the gift bag and envelope.

   " What are all this?",he asked.

   "In the envelope is a ticket for Davido and wizkids concert held in Nigeria. I know davido,chidinma and wizkid are your favourite artist of all times so I decided to get you four tickets for each concert, you can take anyone you want to. And in the gift bag is your usual body spray and perfume. I realised your body spray and perfume will finish soon and you have been busy with school, this arrangement and your personal problem so you won't be chanced to get another one so I bought them for you. I also got you two pairs of trousers,a top and a belt with a shoe. I know its little but please ma-", he hugged me so tight before I could finish talking. When I looked at Josh he looked jealous, it seems he has had enough of our gift exchange because he went to his room.

   " Its more than enough",Joel said still hugging me. He finally pulled away from me, when I looked around I saw his family members were staring at both of us.

   "That's not all", I said.

   " There is more?",he asked.
  
   "There is more?", Angel and Chelsy said at once

   "I got you a date with Chidinma. I won't take all the credit,my dad helped me out", I smiled.

   " Thanks a lot dad",he thanked my dad.

    "Anything for my daughter", my dad said.

   " Awwwwwwn",his family members said. I hugged his and blushed.

   "That's so cute", Nehemiah said

   My phone beeped so I brought out my phone to know who texted me. It was credit alert, Mrs Annabelle Gregory sent 5 million rend to my account.

    I went to where she sat and hugged her so tight. She hugged me back. The family will be wondering why I hugged Joel's mum.

    "What happened?", Joel asked.

    " She just received her birthday gift",his mum said.

     "Which is?", my dad asked.

    " 5 million rend",I said excitedly.

    "Thank you, thank you, thank you", I said still hugging her.

    " I would have gotten something for you but I didn't see anything that was amazing, so I decided to give you cash instead. If its small let me know",Joel's mum said.

    "Its much, thanks mum", I finally let go of her.

    " Thank you very much Mrs Gregory. You shouldn't have but thanks though",my dad said.

    "Goodnight everyone", Aunt Amelia said as she turned off the television. We all grumbled before going to bed. I slept with my dad, he didn't like the idea of sleeping with Joel even after begging him, he said no.
