Room 405

"I have to peeeee!" Brendon complained from the passenger's seat of the car.

"You went ten minutes ago." Ryan showed no signs of slowing the car down. "And we're making such good time."

"Um, Ry, hello?" Brendon motioned to his round belly as if it explained everything. "Its her."

"We can't stop again, my parents are expecting us in five hours. We need to be there in five hours exactly."

"Are they perfectionist like you?"

"Yes."

"Fine. But its your car." Brendon leaned up to mess with the radio station. A Taylor Swift song was playing.

"Please turn that off."

"But Ryan I Love this song!" Brendon cleared his throat and began singing. "I said no one had to know what we do. His hands are in my hair. His clothes are in my room!"

"Brendon you know I'm not a fan of hers. I'd rather we drive in silence. It'd make the ride-"

"Say you'll remember me. Standing in a nice dress, staring at the sunset babe. Red lips and rose cheeks. Say you'll see me again. Even if its just in your wildest dreams. Whoa oh!"

Ryan reached over and turned the music off. "No."

"Buy Ry!" Brendon whined. "Its such a good song. Its so desperate. She's scared of just being a one night stand. She's begging to be remembered. She's begging to be seen again. Even if its not real life. I can relate. I thought I was just gonna be your one night stand."

"You were." Ryan muttered under his breath.

"But I wasn't! Now look at us. Married. Pregnant and going to meet the parents. This is so great Ry. And that's all Taylor was asking for. That's all she wants. And she deserves that. Everyone deserves that. Don't you think? We're so lucky Ryan-"

"Brendon please!" Ryan groaned. "I'm tired and trying to work off a major headache. Can we drive in silence for a while please?"

Brendon nodded. He tapped his hand on his knee quietly. Ryan sighed happily. It was never that easy to get Brendon to shut up. But Ryan spoke too soon. The taps on his knee became progressively louder. And the tapping became a distinct beat. Ryan couldn't really make it out. But he know he'd heard it befor-"

"This hit that ice cold. Michele Phifer that white gold! This on for them hood girls. Them good girls. Straight masterpieces! Silent. Wilding. Living it up in the city. Got chucks on with St. Larrons. Gotta kiss myself so pretty! I'm too hot! Hot damn!"

"Brendon, please!"

"Sorry." Brendon looked out the window. "You don't like my voice anymore? You used to love my voice. You used to beg me to sing. Remember, Ry? Before I got fat you loved me."

"I love you know, Bren."

"I know you do. But not like you did before I was fat." He looked back at Ryan.

"You're not fat. You're pregnant. And you're beautiful, baby."

"Whatever." He looked out the window again.

"Oh fuck." Ryan whispered. And then louder. "I'm too hot. Hot damn! Call the police and the fireman. I'm too hot. Hot damn. Make a dragon wanna retire man. I'm too hot.." He trailed off and looked over at Brendon who was grinning widely at him.

"Hot damn! Say my name. You know who I am. I'm too hot!"

"You sound beautiful baby! I love your voice. You should be famous for it!" Ryan cooed.

"Shut up, idiot!" Brendon smiled. "Ryan I want to sleep."

"Go ahead."

"You know she won't let me sleep like this. Ryan can we stop to a hotel?"

"Bren. No. Five hours!"

"Please Ryan. We'll just stop for an hour. I'll rest and we'll be on the way."

"Why Brendon?" Tears sprinkled against the corners of Brendon's eyes and Ryan groaned. "Fine! There's one up ahead."

"Oh thank you so much Ryan! That's why I love you so much. You're so perfect. Remember when I told you that when we met? I said you're perfect and you told me to fuck off? Oh I knew you were the on right then Ryan!"

"Shut up we're here." Ryan pulled into the lot. Damn there were a lot of cars.

"No. Ryan! Its dirty!"

"Its not that bad-"

"I the name rotted off the front Ryan! Tell me the name of the hotel and I'll go in."

"Shut up. I'm gonna grab the overnight bag to freshen up while you sleep."

Ryan grabbed the bag out of the trunk while Brendon struggled getting out of the front seat. Ryan slung the bag over his shoulder and rushed to help Brendon out. He hooked his arm around his and they walked in.

"Welcome! How may I help you?" The eccentric young girl called out excitedly.

"M husband and I want a room. Just for an hour or so. Well pay the full night price." Ryan took out his credit card.

"Is he pregnant?" She ran around the desk to stand in front of them.

"Almost seven months." Brendon bragged.

"That's amazing. Can I touch your stomach?"

"Go ahead!" He lifted his shirt.

"The room. Please." Ryan reminded them.

"You don't pay until checkout." She waved him away with a flick of her wrist and went back to Brendon. "Boy or girl?"

"We decided to be surprised. But I want a girl!"

"Awww! I love this. I picked the best night to work. You don't push her out right?"

"God no." Brendon shook his head.

"Keys?" Ryan coughed.

"Right." She dug in one of her many pockets and handed him a pair. "Its a suite. But no extra charge for the pwetty wuddle baby!" She cooed at Brendon's stomach.

Ryan looked at the key. "Room 405? Let's go honey." He pulled Brendon towards him by his arm.
