405 New friends.
Ryan gazed warily at the couple in front of them. Sadly, they seemed like the only other stable couple out of the bunch. Pete had gone to his room and put on clothes. And Patrick had gone with him. They'd come back ten minutes later. Ryan didn't even want to think about what had taken so long. But now they were back and the two couples sat on the dusty couch waiting for snack time to be announced.
"Do you think she'll really keep us here forever?" Patrick asked.
"I hope not." Brendon answered before he could. "I can't have my baby in here."
"I still can't believe you're an actual pregnant man." Patrick smiled.
Pete tried to hide his frown. Well someone clearly didn't want kids. And Ryan felt for him. He wanted to say me eiter buddy. I went as far as to bat for the other team and it still happened. But of course he wouldn't hurt Brendon's feelings like that. He did love his husband. This just wasn't in his plan.
"Its great isn't it? I thought I'd never find the right man and settle down. Ryan and I just met at this party. And we spent the whole night having sex in one of the rooms upstairs. And you can guess what happened after that!" Brendon gushed. Ryan blushed. Patrick blinked. Pete winked. "I went to the doctor and when he said I was pregnant, I died. I knew it was Ryan's and he was really nice about it. He came over. We had sex. We started dating. We got married. And I was supposed to be meeting his family today. My family-"
"Brendon. They don't want to hear about every detail of our lives." Ryan cut him off.
"You're right!" Brendon laughed and kissed his husband's cheek. "Sometimes I just go on and on and on. Don't I, Ry?"
"Yes."
"I do that too sometimes." Patrick grinned.
"You do." Pete hugged him closer.
"We have that in common!" Brendon grabbed Patrick's hands and squeezed them. Patrick smiled wider.
"I need a drink." Ryan muttered.
"So you've had like morning sickness and things?" Patrick asked.
"Mhmm. Lots. I had it through the first two months. And a little of the third. Not much any more. But sometimes it sneaks up on me."
"I bet that's wonderful."
"No. But I wouldn't change it for the world. I'm happy."
"I'm jealous." Patrick admitted. "Pete wouldn't it be wonderful to have a baby between us?"
"Uh, well..." Ryan could see Pete struggling.
"Pete, do you smoke?" Ryan asked with wide eyes.
"Yes!" He smiled in thanks.
"Let's go smoke down the hall. I can't smoke around my babies."
Pete looked at Patrick and Patrick nodded his okay. Then he stood and followed Ryan down the hall. They walked to the edge of the hall, out of ear shot of their men. Ryan dug in his pocket and took out a pack of cigarettes. He lit it and took a drag then handed it to Pete. Pete took it.
"I see you're a happy father to be." He joked.
"Fuck you dude." Ryan laughed. "I am going to be happy... Eventually. Its just more than I was looking for."
"What do you mean?"
"I was going to fuck the hottest guy at the party and never call him again. And a few weeks later I get that call. I thought he was joking to see me again. But he was dead fucking serious!"
"I've been with my Patrick for a long time. If he was capable of getting pregnant, it would have happened by now."
"You'd better hope so."
"That bad huh?" Pete handed him the smoke.
"Well, sex is less. Tears are more."
"Patrick's a pretty emotional guy anyway."
"Brendon wasn't really at first." He passed it to Pete. "Actually I'm not sure how he really was. I haven't known his for as long as I'd like to have."
"It seems to be working-"
"I wish I'd never married him." Ryan blurted out and Pete's eyes widened. Ryan's did then too. Like he hasn't meant to say it out loud. "No. I, uh, Pete-"
"Its fine dude. Secret's safe with me." Pete handed it back and shrugged.
"No, but I didn't mean that-"
"Snack time, my little gays! Prance your pretty asses to the cafeteria." Hayley's voice filled the hotel.
