I grabbed the sword out of my bag. That provoked the evil beast. It charged me.

 I quickly dodged out of the way and struck at it. I ended up gashing the Devil's side.

It charged me again. I gashed it again. We kept dueling like this for a while. I cut off one of it's legs with my sword and cutting off a wing. On the other wing, I made a deep incision. I ran at it as fast as I could, blonde hair flying. I stretched my sword arm out in front of my body attempting to gore it. Jersey Devils might be ugly as hell, but they're smart.

It dodged my attack and I almost ran into a tree.

I might be blonde, but I ain't dumb. I expected it to try to dodge me, so I swung around and, this time, it wasn't just a little laceration. I chopped its head clean off.

I had killed the great Jersey Devil.

Coralie, Princess, and Willow had been watching me duel with the Devil the entire time.

"Next is The Beast of Bray Road." said Coralie.

"Why do they even call it that?? We aren't at Bray Road." said Willow.

"Willow, figuring out the name isn't the task at hand." I reminded her.

"Right." she said.

I heard a growling noise come from behind me.

"Was I the only one to hear that?" I asked.

"Hear what?" Coralie asked.

"You must be hearing things. Get some sleep." Willow said.

"Alright. The treehouse is still here. Let's go." I said.

We all climbed up the ladder to the treehouse, lied down, and drifted off to sleep.

At least, they did. I stayed up bemoaning my fate, then slipped off into a fitful sleep.
