Red eyes.

The red eyes burned bright. Amongst the mass of people swarming the road, he still stood tall and proud as his eyes shafted across, his sour gaze piercing through me like lasers.

Holding me captive, my eyes glued on his, engulfing me in its own fantasy where everything else begins to blur.

Suddenly, the brightness of his eyes becomes overbearing. The lightness sensation in my head making me feel dizzy, yet the only thing I could focus on is red.

Everything else begins to quieten down as the loud voices turn hazy and I was trapped.

Trapped in my own world, where the only being left is the vampire in front.

A hard shove to my shoulder breaks me from my trance, ripping my gaze from the two orbs of bloody red, my attention averts to Kai.

"Don't look into his eyes!" He alerted me, bringing both of his hands and resting it on my shoulders as I focus on his frantic voice.

Still in shock, I could only nod in reply before turning my head to find the shadowed figure.

But he wasn't there anymore.

Swallowed in the crowd of bodies, he disappeared.

"Let's get him!"

Both of us begin to sprint across the road, pushing past the people blocking our sight as we jumped and ran.

Reaching the other side of the road, our faces shift from left and right, trying to locate the vampire.

His descending body and black clothing comes into view. I grab Kai's hand pointing towards the frame and we both begin to chase after it.

The pavement becomes clearer, with a few people scattered around. The black silhouette takes a turn into an alleyway with us following closely behind.

Just as we were about to catch him, he disappears from view.

The alleyway had a dead end.

"Where the fuck did he go?" Kai demanded as his eyes roamed the area and up the walls.

I was still panting, my hands on my knees as I begin to gasp for air.

"I don't fucking know!" I breathed out.

"Where the fuck is that PureBlood when you need him!?"

"Stop worrying about Hardin and find that NewBorn!"

Kai's eyes turn red as his head rotates to locate the lingering scent of the vampire. He freezes in position and slowly lifts his head up.

Following his gaze, the bright sun was suddenly covered as a dark shadow loomed over us.

The NewBorn was directly above.

Crouched with his two knees touching his chest, his illuminated eyes pierced through as lips parted to show his clenched fangs dribbling with hunger.

Once again, I was frozen.

Stuck to the ground whilst my eyes glued on his ravenous orbs above, Kai abruptly shoved me to the ground.

As my hands soften my landing, I laid defenseless as the NewBorn landed elegantly on the ground.

He hissed in my direction before Kai captures his attention.

"Oi! I'm right here prick!"

Kai lands a solid jab to his jaw, making him buckle and lose focus before Kai twists the vampire's arm behind his back and attacks him to the ground.

But in a quick movement, the vampire rotates his body and slides from right under Kai's frame, leaving him spread across the ground in a loud thud.

The vampire's hoodie comes off, revealing his platinum hair. As white as snow, his disheveled hair fell across his sweat covered face as he towered over Kai's body; panting and heaving as he begins to lift his hand to assault Kai. His deadly eyes were frantic, searching Kai as he remained poised under him.

Using his wariness to my advantage I pulled the Artemis from my thigh, extending with a quick movement and stabbing it through his side.

"Look at me bitch!" I shouted.

He turns to me with a vicious snarl as groans escape from his throat. With a quick movement, he dragged the electrifying Artemis towards him, with me along with it.

Carelessly, I landed on the floor beside Kai.

"Ouch! This bitch!" I scoffed, beginning to lift myself off of the ground until the NewBorn climbed on top; throwing the Artemis far away from sight.

His orbs bleed illuminating lights of darkness. Encroached with a film of ferocious scarlet as his burning gaze punctured right through me.

He lift his hand up, his sharp nails out on display as they grow into a pointy shape.

Just like Amelia...

Caught off guard, his hand graze my chest instead as Kai sneaked right behind him and pushed his body off of mine.

His body rolled over, giving me time to escape from his grasp; when suddenly, stings of jolting pain pulsate through my chest.

I look down to see my chest fully exposed with streaks of bloody scratches ripped across my chest with my turtleneck torn with it.

"Fuck!" I muttered as I watched the blood beginning to ooze out.

My necklace dangled from my now bare chest, the red gem smudged with my blood.

I quickly looked to Kai who was distracted, dodging and throwing punches before he was pulled to the ground once again.

That's it. The Newborn has had its fun.

I pulled out the blade from my other side. It's lightweight and handle felt perfect in my hand as I threw it over my shoulder and began to charge.

Kai sees me from the corner of his eye and the vampire could smell my blood. He freezes in position, allowing Kai to escape and his eyes meet my bloody chest.

Not wasting a second more, I stabbed him through his stomach.

His mouth falls open as he begins to choke on his blood, crimson black liquid spewing from his mouth, dribbling to the floor as his eyes change to icy blue.

His eyes meet mine as they brim with defeated tears.

"A-Abasova ...Ruby.." He choked out as his eyes peak with fear once they land on the gem on my neck.

"W-what?"

Kai moves to stand beside the vampire, his face contorted with confusion as he watches the vampire's pleading stance.

"What the fuck is he talking about?! AND WHY IS HE NOT DEAD?!" He panted out.

I looked at the sword pierced into his stomach. Murky stains of blood seeping through his clothes and pooling on the ground below; and yet he was still alive.

This sword would keep a NewBorn immediately.. so why is he not dead?

I look back up to his face, but his eyes were closed. A single tear escaped from the corner as it glistened and rolled past his pale cheeks.

Then his eyes open wide. The fiery pupils of unstable red glowed, hankering and trickling with desire and lust as they met with mine.

I gasped, jolting in surprise as he took the opportunity to grip the sword and pulling it from my grip.

Pulling it out from his stomach in a flash, he turns to Kai, ready to slice him.

"NOO!" I screamed, jouncing Kai with his quick reflexes. But it wasn't enough.

The vampire brandished the sword multiply times, causing Kai to dodge it as he jumped and stepped back; until I notice a patch of blood blooming from his arm.

He groaned with agony but continued to elude from more injuries. He begins to fall weary as his eyes begin to droop and his reflexes begin to falter.

"Oi! You fucking bastard! Come get me!" I yelled.

At that moment, Kai dropped on the ground. Clutching his side as he hissed in air whilst his eyes screwed shut.

The vampire began to tower over Kai, inching closer and closer as he paid no attention to the words coming out of my mouth.

Then I realized his attention on my necklace.

"HEY!! You want the necklace huh?! What did you call it again? ABASOVA?!"

His body stiffens in position as his head turns towards my direction with a grim expression of sombre painted all over his face.

His white hair sticking to forehead, his eyes gleamed angrily.

I pulled the necklace forcefully, breaking the clasp and lifting it eye level, dangling the precious gem as bait.

"Come and get it. Vampire." I gritted out.

He begins to snarl, showcasing his dripping canines of insatiable hunger as his bloodthirsty eyes watched the gem moving side to side.

I looked at Kai laying defeated. A heap of tangled limbs across the floor as his chest heaved and a drizzle of sweat coated his face.

I'm doing this for you Kai.

"I SAID COME AND GET IT!"

The vampire's fists balled up in fury and I began to run.

As fast as my legs could carry me, I ran out of the alleyway, turning my head to the side to see the NewBorn hot on my trail.

Hardin. Save him. Please.
