Chapter 21 - Family
So we did—or, well, Oliver did. We sat ourselves round the table of four, and Oliver explained everything. And when he finished, his mother turned to me with a smile,
"How excellent!" She exclaimed, "I knew there had to be something mistaken... when I saw your 'dating-Rin' announcement from last year, I had a feeling the truth wasn't quite there.
"After all, I saw how you treated my son when you lived here—albeit, under an alias...
"That kind of relationship, no matter how good of an actor you are, doesn't come without love." By then tears had pooled on her side of the table. And his father... he had a fair share of his own.
"But to be honest," she sheepishly smiled, "I did have a bit of doubts," before falling into a laugh.
I laughed too, I didn't know why then, nor even now in writing this—it just felt right. We were like a family, and if our future would be kind enough, I thought, we will be a family.
Afterwards, we retreated to our room. We laid down a single futon bed, and crashed ourselves onto it, chuckling, giggling lightly with the last of our energies of the day.
Oliver snuggled onto my upper chest, and I hugged him tight. Then I felt him tuck my shirt. Too tight? I loosened, and he looked up to me with an eye of want—no, need. He tucked my shirt again.
So I roughly took it off, while he took his off, and his eye-bandage. I took the chance to check his body out once more—I can't get enough. Oliver! How can one be this hot and cute at the same time? Surely this is illegal to some laws of nature.
Oliver hummed as he snuggled back up close. His arms wrapped around me feebly as he continued to dig into my chest. "Mmh... Oliver."
He looked to me again, with his languid eye. I reached to the side to turn off our lights, then I heard him speak in his quiet voice, "Len."
"Yeah?" I replied as softly as I could.
"What do you think of... living out of Japan?" He sounded cautious, "we can move to England... then they'll never bother us again."
It felt then like I was hit by another one of Rin's face-punches. Living... outside Japan? What could it be like?
I... don't even know English other than a few basic phrases...
I snapped myself out of the thought, and saw Oliver was still looking at me. He is serious. I ran my fingers on his back, and it comforted him—though really, I'd just wanted to feel his smooth skin. Double win! I'm not complaining.
"Okay." I nodded lightly to him, and he smiled. Precious smile.
"I love you, Len."
"I love you, Oliver."
And so we slept for the night... or well, Oliver did, and I tried to. His touch on my skin had overwhelmed my thoughts, was I really that deprived? and I couldn't get out of his embrace to sort it out.
Oh well, this feels good anyway... to be in bed with him... together.
I can definitely live the night with this.
...especially with his soft seductive breaths on my—
Oh God help me.
...
Then, midnight, "Len," I heard him mumble. I hummed to let him know I was listening, but then I realised he was still asleep. I smiled in knowing he was dreaming about me, it felt then like I was finally about to escape to sleep—then he mumbled again, "You're our family."
It caught me in surprise. I'd pondered upon it for the rest of the night. Officially, we are not family yet. But, if they accept me as a family member, then it's surely good enough.
After all, what importance do those colourful pieces of paper have?
