Help From The Unknown
Chapter Two
Help From the Unknown
I suddenly panicked. I don't wanna go back out there. How much could it have grown by now? But, eventually, I swallowed my fear and opened the bedroom door. I didn't hear anything until the doorbell rang again. I crept to the front door, looking into the peephole. It looked like two FBI guys, so maybe one of them was Agent Plant. I unlocked the door and opened it slowly.
"Is one of you Agent Plant?" I asked weakly. The two men exchanged brief looks. One of them was very tall. He had long, brown hair and a deep, deep blue suit. The other was of average height, had average length hair, and wore a black suit. Overall, very...average.
"Yes, that's me," The tall one answered. "My name is Sam. This is Dean."
"You've gotta see this fly, man."
"Where is your fly, um-"
"Jeff. Jeff Rigby. Follow me," I led them to my bug lab. I stopped at the door. "Before I show you this thing, I should warn you, it's a bit...trippy." Sam and Dean had strange looks
"Um, okay." Sam said skeptically. Slowly, I opened the door. I found a broken jar and the fly missing. I started to flip out.
"Oh, my god. Oh, damn it! It...it's gone! I can't believe it's gone!" I began to hyperventilate.
"Hey, man, calm down." Dean said.
"You have no idea what's going on. You haven't seen this thing!"
"But you have," Sam said. "Now, tell us, what happened?" I tried to calm down long enough to explain.
"When I found this fly, it was about an inch over the maximum length for a normal house fly. So, I decided to add it to my collection. I thought there wouldn't be any harm in that. But...it is so...big."
"How big?" Sam asked.
"Last time I saw it, it was at least the size of a...the size of a large rat." Sam and Dean looked a bit shocked, but tried to hide it. For some reason, I looked up, right above Sam and Dean's heads on the ceiling. I reached into my pocket and used my inhaler. I really needed it then.
"What's wrong?" Dean asked. All I could do was point. Reluctantly, Sam and Dean looked up and saw a fly the size of a barn owl. They both took two steps back and pulled out their guns.
"Jeff?" Sam called for me. That was the last thing I heard for a while. I just kept staring at that fly. I knew what was about to happen. I was gonna pass out. But, all of a sudden, the fly looked at me. It stared at me with giant red eyes. Giant, almost kind eyes. I saw something in those eyes. Something only someone like me could see in an insect that could probably kill you. Curiosity. It must've been curious as to why we were all getting smaller. I smiled for a brief second. Once I managed to see past the terrifying exterior, I saw a curious insect, just minding it's own business. Then, I had a sudden realization. This thing could probably kill you. As I had a morality debate inside my head, I finally collapsed. I had passed out.
Two updates in one day! Super dope! Don't you think Jesse Eisenburg would be perfect for the role of Jeff? That's how I picture him :) And, I know, I should've made it longer, but I thought this was a great way to end it!
