"Lily are you sure Sirius is not avoiding me on my birthday?" Marlene asked me with concern. 

"Marlene if he was I would tell you," I reassured my best friend. 

"Are you sure?" Marlene asked. 

"As sure as my O.W.Ls scores," I answered. 

Marlene looked at me not completely convinced, but with a reassuring smile she changed her mind. 

Lily and Marlene walked back to the common room to see Sirius, and James. 

"Sirius Orion Black, where have you been?" Marlene asked. 

"At Hogwarts," Sirius joked. 

"Sorry just come with me and I'll explain everything you want," 

Sirius took Marlene's hand and walked out of the common room. 

"Marlene's not having a happy birthday she thinks Sirius's avoiding her," I explained. 

"Well that explains a lot actually why Sirius is going crazy," James added. 

"Remus, Lily Dumbledore needs all of the prefects and heads to come to his office now," Katie came running in the common room. 

"Sorry,"

Remus and I follow Katie and get the others. 

"Professor," Katie started. 

"Come on in Miss Thomas,"

Katie leads us into his office. 

"You needed us?" Kat asked. 

"Yes two of the fifth year Gryffindors fell off the Astronomy Tower. Four third year Ravenclaw, eighteen seventh year Hufflepuffs, and twelve fifth year Slytherins ," Dumbledore explained. 

"The four Ravenclaws are still alive, but the Hufflepuffs are dead, and eleven of the Slytherins are as well,"

"What about the Gryffindors?" Annie the Hufflepuff prefect asked. 

"They're dead," Dumbledore added. 

"Who were they?" Mossy the Ravenclaw prefect asked. 

"Sirius Black and Marlene McKinnon," 

I was in so much shock I guess I started to fall backward, but thank Merlin Remus was there to catch my fall.
