011. alex & emily

THE day before the date ruby was walking over to the cafe with alex. when they entered the cafe shop it wasn't as full as it usually is. emily noticed her quickly and she gasped. emily quickly gave their customers food and rushed over to ruby.

"ruby!" she said happily throwing her arms around ruby. the brown hair hair wrapped her arms around emily and let out a giggle.

"hi, em."

Emily let go of the hug glancing over at alex only for their eyes to widen. "Alex?" ruby watched as emily's face went pale, her eyes widen in pure horror and her lips didn't know if they should smile or frown.

"Alex?" Ruby said after them looking between the two.

"Emily? Emily!" alex said in a disbelief voice. "Emily?"

"hello?" Ruby said standing between the two.

emily wiped her palms on her apron that was around her waist and swallowed. she pointed at herself and then at alex glancing at ruby."I'm, uh, his ex."

"oh?" Ruby said once Emily and alex told her the full on story of them. it was long. during the time when they were explaining ruby needed a cup of coffee along with bread and she continued listening. the story honestly made her believe that they still had feelings for each other because the reason why they broke up was because emily got a scholarship and moved away and either of them wanted to do long distance.

"it's no big deal, we left on good terms." alex said. Ruby noticed how Emily glanced up at him. She was able to see that in their eyes it was filled with care and maybe even love for the guy. it filled ruby's heart with happiness.

"yeah. good terms." Emily said looking over at Ruby who was reading alex.

This time when Emily looked away, alex was able to look over at them and just admire them. Ruby's mouth opened a little looking between the two. "Will you give me a second." Ruby said before standing up from the booth and speed walking over to the flower shop.

"Maggie! I have something to tell you!" Ruby said entering the store looking at Maggie who was watering the plants.

"let me guess," maggie stopped watering the plants and put a hand on her hip. "alex and emily still have feelings for each other."

"how— what? Where you spying?" Ruby asked leaning on their other leg. "

no I just have powers, honey." Maggie giggled. she wasn't about to admit to ruby that she was overhearing them since where they sat down was by the window and maggie was next door outside.

"that's all I have to say, bye." Ruby said quickly going to leave when suddenly she was pushed into a wall. "oh Jesus Christ."

Callahan placed two fingers underneath their chin lifting it up so their eyes would met. Ruby blushed lightly as he tilted his head to the side. "I'm at the cafe with Emily and alex." Ruby said making Callahan nod his head.

He then ran his fingers down her arm before intertwining their hands together. Ruby frowned their eyebrows before he started to walk forward walking over to the cafe. butterflies erupted inside of her stomach and his confidence. she could simply kiss him right then and there but she held herself back.

Ruby glanced up at him as they continued to walk forward but quickly turned their head back upon him glancing down at her. "hold on." Emily said seeing Callahan.

Emily grabbed their bag and walked over to Callahan hitting him in the arm repeatedly with the bag. "you can't just do that! You bitch!" Emily said before sighing.

"what did he do?" Ruby asked.

Callahan shook his head standing behind Ruby. Emily didn't see him though. "he punched a guy yesterday." Ruby's eyes widen looking up at Callahan who didn't met their gaze.

"what, why?" Ruby asked as alex stood up.

"awesome!" alex laughed putting his hand up. callahan chuckled and gave him his high five back.

"the guy was just saying things, y'know." Emily said before wrapping a arm around Ruby's shoulder. "I'll invite you guys for a coffee or whatever you want." Emily said walking forward.

Ruby looked behind her shoulder looking Callahan up and down, that's when she noticed the bruises on his hand and his busted lip. Callahan just walked ignoring her stare.

ruby, callahan, alex and emily all stayed inside of the booth finishing up their food. ruby than said that she needed to buy some more plants for her balcony and excuses herself. she knew that callahan was following behind her.

she was confirmed that he was behind her when callahan reached his head forward and intertwined their fingers together. a soft smile appeared on ruby's lips as she dragged them over to the bathroom. she knew that maggie would have an emergency first-aid kit inside.

callahan closed the door behind him and locked it. ruby brought her hand up to his chest and pushed him down to sit down on the toilet lid. callahan tilted his head up watching as ruby went on her knees to look at the cabinet. she pulled out the first-aid kit and opened it up.

still kneeling down she grabbed what she needed and turned over to callahan. she grabbed the hand that was more messed up from him. she cleaned up his wounds nicely before wrapping around a bandage on his hand. the other hand wasn't as bad but he still cleaned it.

ruby couldn't help but bring his knuckles up to her mouth and place a kiss on them. callahan straighten his back and his eyes shifted. he wanted so badly to pull her in, to do unimaginable things to her. things that he's never done before, or has never imagined to do with anyone until now. with her.

ruby than stood up and grabbed small bandages. callahan placed his large hands on her hip and pulled her in between his legs. ruby smiled and started leaning his face. she put a small bandage on the small wound that was on his forehead. she kissed the wound.

once she was done ruby stayed right there and his hands stayed gripping on her hip. ruby's fingers trailed down from his face down to his neck and then on his chest.

"done." she whispered putting her hand on his hands. she took them off and walked out of the bathroom. teasing him by swaying her hips from left to right.

she was proud of herself to say the least.
