006. the truth always comes out

UNLOCKING his door of his apartment he walked in dropping the keys on the flower pot and took out the piece of paper out of his pocket. He was debating whether he wanted to know if she was actually, his Ruby. the girl who he has been talking with for years. the girl who he has been dreaming about meeting her and he finally has.

a part of him wanted it to be her. but the another part of him didn't want it to be her, and it's not because he didn't want her to be part of his life but it's because in reality he was afraid. blame it on his trust issues. how is he supposed to know if what she's thinking about him is negative? that's what gets him.

the feeling of her not knowing who he is through text or what he looked liked somewhat didn't affect him much since they wouldn't judge him in any way or form. but then Ruby knowing how he looks like it givers her a chance to judge him in all way and form.

growing up he has been a victim of bullying for being mute. for not talking, and he would get picked easily since he couldn't defend himself. he would often be told to just not live anymore seeing how it has no point if he couldn't talk. but Callahan would usually tell himself that they never saw what he saw that day.

during the time of the bullying he grew on having anxiety around people or with even little things. whenever people would give him a stare in a weird way his nerves would start going up and that's how the anxiety started. it'll start off by his legs bouncing up and down and then him nervously picking on his nails.

his breath would get heavy and he wasn't able to think properly. that was until Maggie came in his life. he was around 15 years old when he found the flower shop. Maggie brought him under her wing and told him off about having suicidal thoughts. She helped him get through the bullying, she helped him with his anxiety, she helped him find new ways to communicate with people.

Maggie is the only person who knows the reason why Callahan doesn't speak.

thoughts flood into his mind as he glanced down at the familiar phone number. his nerves were flood in his mind as he grabbed his phone and dialed down the phone number.

Did he really want to find out? What if the the whole was a joke? What if he gave him the wrong number? what if it wasn't actually his ruby? He sighed while turning his phone back off, he laid it face down on the counter and ran his fingers though his hair. Why was he so stressed about this? It was only a phone number.

and either way he already knew who Ruby was, it's not like she's new to him. fuck it. he thought before lifting his head back up grabbing his phone and dialing down their phone number.

"George, George, George, George!" alex called out multiple times. The boys were all on call. alex and Ruby were together and then nick went to go visit Karl, Dream is in Florida cause he got sick and then George who is sleeping and not giving two shits about them.

"leave me alone." George grumbled as clay let out a loud cough.

"Dream is there anyone taking care of you?" Ruby asked feeling their phone vibrate but ignored it.

"yeah, my mom and drista are here." Dream said in a raspy voice.

"Dream is going to die." alex said in a joking matter before gasping. "Imma make a disc track out of that."

Ruby laughed lightly hearing the sick male try to laugh but it came out as a horrible cough. "guys, can we like ask alex the most wanted question?" Karl asked finally in the call with them.

"what is it Karl?" alex asked typing rapidly on his phone. most likely to create the said diss track.

"who is Callahan." Sapnap and Karl said at the same time before looking at each other.

"ugh, soulmates." Ruby groaned.

"Let me tell you about him—" alex said dropping his phone on his lap and leaning forward.

"No!" Ruby shouted launching herself onto alex covering his mouth. alex grunted moving her away and opening his mouth again.

"He has—" alex let out a pain shriek when Ruby launched onto him once more bringing him down to the floor.

alex twisted his body in her arms before pinning her on the floor with their arms over their head. "he has— oh look he texted you." alex said making Ruby hit him in the balls before grabbing her phone and quickly running inside of her room. "ow!"

Ruby's eyes widen upon seeing the text. he knows.
