Marinette smiled the moment she heard movement interrupt her once silent night. 'Hello, kitty.'
'Good evening.' The black masked hero greeted, joining the brunette on the balcony of her home.
She let out an amused huff. 'What brings you here today, kitty?' She asked, turning her head and tilting it slightly to look at Chat.
The masked hero stared at those bluebell eyes. Pale skin, untied dark hair and pink lips the reason his lips quirked upwards in reply. He tilted his head as well, the movement causing the bell at his neck to ring gently in response. 'Can I not pay my princess a visit just because?'
Marinette let out a hearty giggle at that. 'Silly cat.' She whispered softly, looking up at him with a fond smile. The two turned away from each other.
They leaned against the dark fence barrier, both staring up at the same starry sky. Millions of little stars blinked at them, and the chilly night winds brushed softly against their hair and skin.
A comfortable silence settled down between them. Chat had originally came to check up on the dark haired girl whose hair was usually tied up in pigtails, but he was swift to realise that it was unnecessary.
The teenage girl appeared well. The bags under her eyes had almost completely disappeared, so Chat came to the conclusion that she had been sleeping a lot more in the recent days. She seemed energetic, to Chat's pleasant surprise, although the time was well past midnight.
Marinette tucked a strand of dark hair behind her ear, turning to the feline hero once again. 'Don't you have a patrol to be on?'
Chat snapped out of his daze, turning instantly to look down at the girl.
'Right.' He nodded at the reminder. He hoisted himself onto the fence, crouching on the barrier with the assistance of his super balance. 'I'll be off.'
'Take care of yourself.' Marinette reminded.
'You too.' Chat returned with a small grin. 'Get better soon, m'lady. Things just aren't the same without you, you know?.'
'Oh, be off already.' She shooed him away. 'You don't get to laze just because I'm not there with you.'
'Yes, yes.' Chat chuckled, heading off and into the night. Marinette smiled to herself as she slowly lost sight of the black-masked hero.
