The battle continues. Sora who once again stood up fought against the very person he looked up to as a Mother. Both he and Alfia was jumping from platform to platform, with Sora sending multiple lightning blast,

but Alfia just nullifies them all and sent Sora a massive shockwaves of sounds, but Sora too dodge them with his incredible speed. Sora told the rest that they need to hold out much longer and the Astraea Familia only comply to his order. Sora noted Alfia's power was dropping and ordered to use a hut and run tactic.

Alfia: Ataraxia.

Neze: She's reapplied the enchantment herself?!

Lyra: Of course she would. It's a super short chant. She can choose to defend and in the next second attack!

Neze: She really is invincible!

Sora: Attack! Attack! And attack! Her power is dropping at a rapid rate. And endurance battle is the way to win! Ryuu, Alise, continue the hit-and-run tactics!

Alise and Ryuu: On it!

Both Alise and Ryuu once again rushes in as they chant for their spells and the both of them fire at the same time.

Alise: Agaris Alvesynth!!!

With her accumulated fire power Alise sent a massive strike's of flames towards Alfia, and Ryuu sent her magic.

Ryuu: Luminous Wind!!

Alfia just stood there completely still, not even bothering to dodge and once again their magic was nullified and Alfia was about to attack them when Kaguya suddenly appeared from the rear after her fight with Vitteaux.

Kaguya: You're all a bunch of babies! Give me a break!

Ryuu: Kaguya!

Alise: We were worried about you, Kaguya! Just so you know, I never believed you ran away from all the trouble!

Sora: I take it you take care of him!

Kaguya: Yes! And captain, you're a terrible liar just like that Elf over there. It's better you don't speak much!

Kaguya then looked at Alfia and readied her katana.

Kaguya: So-granny! I got rid of all those annoying friends of yours. Now it's payback time.

Sora: Granny?

Kaguya wanted payback after Alfia crushed her a few days back.

Alfia: I like your spirit, girl. However, I order you to take back you've said. I'm only 24 years old.

Alfia hated to be called and Sora just sweat drop and Alise looked at her with disbelief.

Alise: What?! You're really that young! I thought you're making yourself look younger than your age with the power of Falna... I'm shocked!

Sora: That's rude!!

Kaguya: Right, right! But I'm 16, just so you know. Jealous aren't you granny?!

Sora(mind): Kaguya's not good at provoking people. That's pretty lame.

Alfia: You're not doing a good job provoking your foe. You're a lousy provoker. Plus, I'm not jealous of it whatsoever. Humans age in a blink of an eye unless they live fast and recklessly.

Alfia then rushed towards the girls and started attacking, but Sora intercepted her and the two of them once again started fighting close range, with Sora sending multiple slashes and kicks, but Alfia easily dodge them all and kicked Sora away. Alfia's attack speed is also increasing, almost rivaling Sora and she started attacking the girls and sent her away flying, and Sora sent a massive dragon blast, but it was once again nullified.

Sora: Tch...

Alfia: Could have, should have, and would have... each time human's utter these words, they grow older. Regretting a decision means cursing yourself for the things you've done. I do not even know how old I've gotten myself.

Sora: Hmm... In my eyes you still look as young and beautiful as ever Mother.

Alfia: Flattery won't work, brat. There's nothing we can do about the sins we've committed. Regret is what brought us here. Zald and I fell the same way.

Sora: And thanks to that, I was able to see you again. Seeing you here already gives me so much joy.

Alfia: You and your flattery. No wonder why girls always flocks to you.

Sora: Is that what everyone sees in me?!

Everyone: Yes!!

Everyone agree, even Alfia agrees with them. And Sora just hung his head down in shame before shrugging it off and started fighting her again. Along with the help of the Astraea Familia, their teamworks, along with their tactics were making Alfia do the attacking this time instead of them, and Alfia pushed Sora once again.

Alfia: Gospel-

Sora: !!!

Alfia tried to use her magic against Sora, however, it didn't work. At the same moment, she also started to cough blood, leaving the girls astonished as they hadn't done nothing. And Sora could only stay silent.

Sora:...

Ryuu: What the-?!

Alise: Did she just threw up blood?

Kaguya: We didn't do anything, did we?

Sora: I told you all before the war started didn't I? Mother has an incurable disease.

Before the battle, Sora had told the Astraea Familia about Zald's and Alfia's weaknesses, so that they had a chance to win. Sora told them that despite being extremely talented, Alfia was unable to become the strongest due to her incurable disease. Sora told them she had been born with it and had even manifested as a skill, with Sora adding that no magic or item had been able to cure it.

As for Zald, Sora said he had been slowly devoured by his problem for the past years. Sora revealed he had a rare skill called Deus Ambrosia, which he said that boosted his status everytime he ate, with the boost being proportional to the power of what he ate. He told them that during the battle against the Behemoth he had eaten the flesh of the monster, greatly increasing his stauts, killing it with a single strike. However, as a consequence he ended up poisoned with the monster's dedly poison, forcing him to leave the battleground after it.

Sora told them that due to this they were able to fight only for a limited amount of time, their condition getting worse the longer the battle took, so they should prolong the battle if they were to fight them. The evidence is, such as their retreat during the Great Feud and the time it passed before they showed up again.

He also reminded about Evilus' activities previous to the Great Feud as, aside from the machines they stole from the industrial district, they had done two others. The first one was activity from the members in Dedine while the other was cutting branches from Holy Trees from Elven forests. The reason for them was to get cures for Alfia and Zald, as there was a herb that could serve as a detoxicant for him in Dedine and eating a branch from a Holy Tree improved Alfia's condition.

Sora: And because of that, Mother's condition get slightly better...

Alfia continued to cough up blood and Sora could only close his eyes and looked away, unable to watch any longer and the girls all looked at her with disbelief.

Kaguya: How long are you going to throw up your blood for?

Ryuu: How long have you lived with pain within yourself?

Alfia: I was born with it. Don't ask me something I'm not supposed to know. Are you able to explain how blood circulates within yourself, then? Oh how I cursed this deadly disease that took the life of my blood related sister...

Sora:...

(Flashback)

One year had passed ever since the Zeus Familia was exiled by the Freya and Loki Familia. And the day that a young boy with white hair was born into this world. He was held by his Mother Meteria.

Sora: Uwah... What a cute boy...

Meteria: Hey Sora, will you give him a name...

Sora then looked surprised.

Sora: Huh? But wouldn't his mother should be the one to gave him...

Meteria then looked down and hold the boy tightly as tears started streaming down his eyes.

Meteria: I don't have much time left. My sickness is getting to me. And I want you, his Big Brother... to be the one to give him his name..

Sora then looked down saddened. Knowing that Meteria's time is up and he looked at her and saw that she was looking at him with hopes in her eyes.

Meteria: Please... Sora...

Sora then looked down for a moment. Until he heard the sound of a bell ringing and looked to his pants, and saw two bells that he always attached there and took it.

Sora(mind): Dad... What will you do at times like this...

Sora then clutch the bells tightly and looked at Meteria smiling.

Sora: Bell...

Meteria: Huh...?

Sora: His name will be Bell. Bell Cranel, and I hope one day, he will become a Hero as well...

Meteria: Ah... That's a good name...

Meteria then hand Bell over to him and Sora took him and hold him by his arm and saw that Meteria's eyes were already void of life. But she continue to smile with tears on her eyes and look at Sora.

Meteria: Sora... Please take care of him. As his Big Brother... And I am... Entrusting... the future... to you... Sora... my son...

Meteria said her last words as she took her last breath. Tears, sadness. Emotions filled Sora like a blizzard. He was crying his heart out as he saw the person who he also looked up to as a Mother, just like Alfia died and he reached out to her face and close her eyes.

Sora:...

After Sora had recall all those memories, he looked back at his Mother and saw that she saw still throwing up blood.

Alfia: Without this, would I've been able to defeat the Black Dragon? Then, I wouldn't have had to deal with all these noises... and to not receive those awful, compassionate gazes from you girls.

Other than Sora, everyone else was practically glaring at her. All of them, hates her for what she have done. She's someone that should not be forgiven. But only Sora, who still look at her as if she was nothing but a Mother to him. All the hatred and sadness that Alfia want to spread, was not making Sora looked at her any different. Nothing she do, would stop Sora from loving her.

Sora:...

Ryuu: Alfia, we...

Lyra: Just cut the crap. Admit your loss. We've cornered you, so obviously we won. Right?

Kaguya: You're not in the condition to fight. We hadn't had our payback time yet, but I'm not motivated to slay you. You're bleeding too much.

Alise: Surrender, Alfia. Sin's you've all committed are unforgivable, though... We understand that you truly cared about the world. Please... surrender.

Alfia: Surrender, huh...? TO WHAT EXTENT DO THESE NOISES HAVE TO DISAPPOINT ME?!?!

For the first time, Alfia snapped as she sent a huge sound waves towards the girls and blow them away.

Ryuu: Gah?!

Alfia: Do not underestimate me, wimps! I'd still turn you all into corpses no matter how much pain I'm suffering from!

Sora: Mother...

Alfia: Chaos is still going to destroy Orario, and it's still unstoppable!! I shall kill you all right here, and send that thing to the surface. I shall be the one to open the lid of the labyrinth!! I must accept my fate and continued what I must!!

Alfia refused to surrender, stating she would bring the Nightmare to the surface and destroy the lid of the dungeon. And they all looked towards the Nightmare and saw that it was trapped in ice, from Asuna's magic, but it keeps getting reborn, getting uglier each time. Even the Loki Familia are struggling to deal with it. Aiz, black wind was the only thing that was keeping it at bay.

Sora(mind): I need to end this fast!!

Alfia: What I seek is conviction. For the return of the Age of Heroes! The future that you all are willing to strive, is not necessary!!

Knowing that he needs to stop this right here right now, Sora finally spoke up after staying quiet for the last few minutes.

Sora: Please stop this, Mother! I don't want to fight you anymore...

Alfia: Are you giving up just like that! I've killed dozens of Familia, and I've sent multiple Gods back to Heaven! You think, all is forgiven.

Sora was the only one left standing. All the Astraea Familia members were on the ground defeated, and all Sora hope right for his Mother to stop.

Sora: Is there really no other way?

For the first time in this fight, Alfia form the most genuine smile she could give and she open her eyes and look at her adoptive son.

Alfia: Be a Hero, my son...

Sora: !!

Sora then looked at his adoptive mother completely and utterly shocked. For the first time ever since they've met, Alfia would never called Sora "my son". She would always called him by his name or "Kid". So the sudden change completely shocked him. She had finally accepted Sora as her son, and those words, make Sora's heart aches.

Alfia: Be a Hero and guid this world! Train them, to be the next generation of Heroes that will succeed after us! And when it does, I want you to be the one that guided them, Sora, my son...!

Alfia had tears on her eyes. She was crying. She couldn't hold her emotions any longer. All she wanted to do right now, was to hug Sora and never ever let go. But she know that she can't. She want to be the stepping stone for him to succeed.

Sora: Mother...

Sora then determined himself to fight to the very end. Complying to her wish, Sora made an oath, that he will be the one to guide the Next Generation of Heroes. And Sora looked at her.

Sora: I will... I will be the one, to guide them! And I promise you one thing, Mother! I will not let you down!!

As soon as he said those words, Sora's aura exploded and it was so powerful and intense that it covered the entire 18th floor. The floor itself was glowing. Light started to shine and raise from the ground. The entire floor, no- the whole world is glowing, and even people from the surface who was still fighting could see the light.

Ottar: This is...?

Finn: What is this light?!

Raul: The ground is glowing!! No, the whole world itself feels like it was glowing.

Zald: I only know one person that can create this kind of light. That brat!!

Finn: This light! It must be the one in the dungeon! The battle isn't over yet!!

Ganesha: The Light of Hope...

Hermes: The Light of Hope...

Freya: The Light of Hope...

Loki: The Light of Hope...

They all felt like that there's still hope on the darkness. King, Braver, Nine Hell, Elgram, Sword Princess, Berserk Healer, Scarlet Harnel, Yamato Rindou, Gale Wind, Sneaky Rat, and The Flashing Strike. These gallant adventurer had shouldered their pride and duty continuing to fight the darkness that was threatening the city.

Shakti: Get up everybody! As long as we can see this light, there's still chance for Orario to remain undefeated!! Listen to the melody of this battlefield! Do not fall behind!

Asfi: Falgar! Command the troops to keep attacking! This light that was illuminating from the earth, do not let it go to waste! The moment this light of this world fades, we lose!

Falgar: Understood! Attaaaaaaaaaaaaack!

Finn: Focus on the enemy in front of you! There's nothing left to fear! The people in the dungeon will defeat the Nightmare! Follow the Light of Hope and it will bring us to VICTORY!!!!!!

Orario Adventurers: AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!

Finn has ordered an all out attack. Orario adventurers started to fight back again, reassurd by the light that was illuminating from the ground. The counter attack began as every adventurers embarked on the final clash, guided by the Light of Hope. The light that was being produced stirred the heart of the adventurers and even the monsters. It was light shining in the Heroes's dawn, stirring those who had fallen to stand back up. People who should not have been able to get up again were standing one after the other, wiping away their blood, taking their weapons in hand, and facing off against the monsters and Evilus who are trying to destroy the city

Valletta: What...?!

The light become even clearer, causing Valletta to stand still. As rasping whisper crossed her lips. The torches flames flickered at the light of hope. The flickering flames caused the mural of every Evilus member and monsters to fade in and out of darkness.

Olivas: What is this...?!

The game board had changed. The adventurers had moved from disadvantage to equal footing. No beyond that. The adventurers shouts rang out as they attempted to cut through the cruelty. It was as if they had been revived. Time had stopped for Valletta, and slowly, her body began to tremble in fear. She was assaulted by a premonition that was difficult to bear. It was the harbinger of failure, of her plan to destroy Orario falling apart. Her laughter had died.

Valleta: WHAT IS THIS DAMN LIGHT?!?!?

Valletta lost her composure and raged at the light that had caused even a God to shudder. Back at the dungeon, everyone was stun when they saw the light. Many of them felt the warm and comforting feelings surrounding them. And suddenly.

*WHISTLING*

The sound of a whistling birds started ringing around the 18th floor. The light itself was already beautiful enough that it captivated them. Now they all could see the sound of a whistling.

Gareth: This is-?

Alise: The sound of birds?

Riveria: It's from...

Kaguya: This sounds...

Neze: It's so pretty...

Alfia: It can't be-

Asuna: Sora...

The sound has reached every corner of the 18th floor. It was a soul-stirring melody that reached the adventurers in the safe zone. There was no holiness to be found anywhere. And yet that whistling resembled a blessing from the heavens, resounding through the dungeon, repelling the darkness the was enveloping them, and transforming into a sacred rhythm to purify evil.

Astraea: Can you see that, Erebus?! That is what you called, A True Hero!

Erebus: Yes- This is what I wanted to see! It's the myth of those who connect past, present and future!

The whistling continue. To the adventurer's ears, it was a battlecry. A shout of encouragement to jolt their spirit. Everyone stopped moving. Everyone listened to that sound. Even the monster known as "Nightmare" were frozen by it, creating a moment of pause in the battlefield.

*Whistling*

Astraea: Go, Sora Yatagami!! Show me what a True Hero is like!

Everyone saw that Sora was now embedded by a pure of white light as the sound of the whistling birds continue to sing.

Alise: Everyone. Prepare your weapons. Let's do this.

Lyra: Alise...

Alise: We'll prove that justice comes around, that Light that Sora is producing will guide us into the future. Who was once called a Hero shall witness the hope we're about to established!

Kaguya: Yes, ma'am.

Ryuu: Ardee... Be with me. Justice will get us there! We are to transcend the Hero!

Alise: This is where you fall, Alfia! We swear- to the sword and our wings of justice! We will follow our Light of Hope and Victory!!!

Sora: LET'S GO!! FOR THE SAKE OF THE FUTURE!!!

Astraea Familia: YEAAAAAAAH!!!!!

Their counterattack began as Sora who was fighting against Alfia was now being support by the whole Astraea Familia members as they all raised their battlecry. They embarked on the final clash, guided by the light of hope and the sound of the whistle. The sound of that whistle stirred the heart of the adventurers and even the monsters. It was the sound ringing the Heroes' dawn, stirring to those who had fallen to stand back up. People who should not have been able to get up again were standing one after the other, wiping their blood, taking their weapon in hand, and facing off against the Heroes of old.

Alfia: Yeah, show me Sora. Show me, my foolish child, the path of the Hero that you have chosen! And allow me to teach you all that it means to be a Hero!!

Their final battle began. She was a Hero. She suffered from a deadly disease, with limited time left to live. She was fragile, with her life exposed to death throughout.

Still, she was a Hero. Her lethal gospel reverberated as she nullified rains of lightning, flames, and flashes of swords sallied by the light of hope and justice. She was a Hero. She was Sora's Hero. She has fallen to the dark side, but it didn't change what she was. She still had the power and strength- She deserved to be called a Hero, more than anyone else did.

Lyra: Fire! Keep attacking! Don't let her rest!

Kaguya: Keep going! Don't think about playing defense! This is like a fistfight! You die if you flinch! It'll be a shame to run away!

Sora: Show that Hero everything we've got! Show that hero that we can transcend her!

Scenery changes drastically. Swords, shields, wands, blades flashes, impacts, damages, roars... and wills. The Light of and the Believers of Justice dashes towards the former hero, with all their heart, mind and strength.

Sora: ROAR, LIGHTNING....!!!!!!!

Alise: Burn! Burn! Burn!!! ARVANA!!!!

Everything was speedy, and there were lightning and flames everywhere. All together they locked like a shooting stars.

Light and Justice had brightened the confronting evil with gleaming light and flames. They were as fast as light, leaving starry trails behind.

Astraea: Sora, Alise... Everyone...

Erebus: An ultimate confrontation... Or no, this is an Ultimate Clash.

The myth of those who connect past, present, and future. The God of Evil and the Goddess of justice watched as the dark star and radiating brilliance collided. And then...

Alfia: The Blesses disaster, the curse of birth. Sin that devoured half of my body resides within-

The woman started chanting.

Sora: Mothers' third magic!!

Ryana: Wait. Tell me this is a joke...

Genos Angelus, Unlike her other two magic, Genos Angelus had a super long chant and was powerful enough that Sora mentioned it could destroy the entire 18th Floor. Its destructive potential was such that it was even capable of killing the Leviathan.

Kaguya: Stop her! Don't let her finish casting the spell!!

No matter how much they attacked, Alfia's chant didn't stop.

Alfia: No absolute, no purification and no mercy. The resonance of this heavenly sound itself is my sin.

While she was concurrent chanting, she started on the offense and attacks the girls knocking them down one by one. She wields and cuts the sky. And it's reverberating. They couldn't stop the concurrent chanting. Leaving only one boy left standing.

Sora: Stop it, Mother! Are you trying to destroy the entire floor?!

Alfia: The trumpet of the Gods, the lyre of the spirits. Sins I've lived with, embodied in the melody of light. My fate, loved by the diorama of the world- demolish, for I hold grudge against my own presence!

Knowing that there was no chance of stopping her, Sora could only focus his attack on a single point as he started charging every ounce of lightning, light, energy into one of his sword.

Alfia: All shall vanish, as I atone for my sins- Hear the Holy Bell Tower!

Intensity of Magic. It was a destructive roar that crushed all hopes of the believers of justice, and destroyed them.

Alfia: Genos Angelus.

However, one single boy didn't give up. He was done as well. He was done charging up his own attack as he thrust his blade forwards filled with a blue and white light of energy into the massive intensity blast of magic.

Sora: HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Both of them have clash. The shockwaves was immense as it blew the others away. Sora was betting everything in one single strike, and Alfia was also pushing back with everything she's got. It was only them between the destruction of the world. All eyes were on them as both Sora and Alfia unleashed everything they've got. With Alfia and her magic. And Sora with his blue and white light of energy.

Sora: !!!!!!

But Sora's body began to sink, hands tightly gripping his Kanshou blade. The massive magic blast pummeled the blue and white energy. Sora let out a scream of anguish as the intensity of the magic grew with every passing seconds. Everyone could only watch as their field of vision went white. Alfia's magic was fully prepared to crush Sora's light. Sora's knees began to give, until... he heard a voice.

???: Shall I lend you a hand... Sora?

Sora(mind): This voice...!!

Sora remembered this voice very clearly. It was the same voice that saved him from the one eyes black dragon. He felt like he was in a dark void and there he saw it. The same figure from 8 years ago.

Sora: It's you...

???: But remember... This is the only time I'm going to be helping you. This is breaking the rules... So the consequences is Big.

Sora: Consequences? But who are you?

???: I am your ally, Sora. I know everything about you, including your huge secrets that you are keeping from the others.

Sora's eyes widened completely and utterly shocked. This person, who he felt as if she was a spirit knows everything.

???: So let me give you an hand. Roar!!!

Sora felt his whole body tremble. His body was filled with a whirlpool of mana. It's like a hurricane and storm of lightning of mana running through his body.

Sora: What is this?!

???: This is merely a piece of my power. Like I was saying, this is a one-time special offer. But don't worry. It won't be special for long.

Sora: What do you mean...? Who are you?

???: Me? Well I'm...

The vision in Sora's eyes has finally cleared as he finally saw the figure standing in front of him.

Sylphid: The Spirit of the Wind and Lightning, Sylphid.

Sora was speechless. It was a spirit that had saved him all those years ago.

Sylphid: Sora... This time it's special. But it won't be special for very long. I'll be waiting for you, Sora...

As soon as she said that, Sora was transported back to the fight as his energy rises every dying second. He unleashed everything. All the energy he's collected within him, everything loaded into the cannon of his lightning. A lightning more powerful than a storm. Sora's gaze met his Mother. In that moment, Sora's started pushing back.

Alfia: !!!!

Alfia could feel the rise in her son's power. And it was at that moment she knew. That her son has truly indeed surpasses her, and she couldn't be more proud. And Sora push back with everything he's got.

Sora: YOUR DONE, MOTHER!!!

With one final thunderous roar from Sora, he blew away Alfia's magic and Sora's thrust continued until it created a large explosion upon impact that shook the entire 18th floor and Alise, Kaguya, Lyra, Ryuu, Neze, Riveria, Gareth, Aiz, Asuna, Astraea, and Erebus were quickly blown away by the shock. And as the dust settled, the two figures came into view and they had seen Alfia who had Sora's Kanshou plunged deeply into her chest.

Neze: Did he do it?

Lyra: If he didn't, we're doomed.

Kaguya: You do not have to worry about that.

Blood splattered from her mouth. It indicates that Sora had won the fight.

Alfia: Gwah...! Ngh...!

Sora: Mother...

Alfia then form a smile on her face as she let out a weakly laugh.

Alfia: Hah Hahah... Yes... you have won. My son... In that brief moment... You've surpassed me.

Sora: Mother...

Alfia then went limp, as her body was giving up, but Sora managed to caught her just as she was about to fall.

Alfia: You've done a good job... defeating me...

Sora: Mother...

Tears started streaming down, Sora's face as she support his Mother who was on the brink of death.

Alfia: Let me say this before I go... Please guide them. Become the Next Generation of Heroes, Sora. And beat that Black Dragon.

Sora: Y-Yeah... I promise...

Alfia: And tell this to the Familia of Justice...

Alfia then whisper something onto Sora and he's eyes widened as wide as he could before nodding his head.

Alfia: If justice comes around... let hopes be linked. It'll all be assembled... and one day, the last hero will be born...

Sora: I understand. I'll always remember about this moment, and I'll never forget what you've said.

Alfia: Now my son... Please bring my body towards the flame.

Sora then carried his mothers body holding her bridal style and brought her towards a hole of flames.

Ryuu: Yatagami, where are you going...?

Neze: That path leads to the hole dug by the monster! There's a huge fire burning down there!

Sora didn't reply and continue to walk towards the flame.

Alfia: Tell me something... Is the child... Is Bell...

Sora: No... He doesn't have the disease like you or Mother Meteria.

Alfia: Ah... Thank goodness...

Tears started streaming down her eyes. It wasn't tears out of sadness, but tears of joy. Joy that her nephew didn't have the disease like her. There's nothing that could make her happy as she reached her hand to his face and wiped away his tears.

Alfia: Come on... Don't cry... I don't have any regrets... And I'm so proud of you... And I'm proud to call you, my son...

Even more tears started streaming down his face. He couldn't stop crying. It was her desire to do this, so all he could do was respect her wish and grant them. And they finally reached the hole of flames.

Alfia: My corpse is to become ashes... just like her.

Sora: Mother Meteria?

Alfia: Yeah... Please grant me one more request before I disappeared.

Sora: Anything...
