2: Trust in Auntie Rosie, Fates Intertwined
Rosie waited patiently for Abigail to respond. She could clearly tell the girl was nothing like the other sinners or cannibals in Hell and her eyes give away that she's much too pure and timid to have found herself in Hell. Plus she looks troubled when they bump into each other. When she took the dress that she was wearing, she could already tell she's from Heaven but what's an angel from Heaven doing in Hell in the first place.
"It's... It's complicated, Miss." Abigail finally said while holding herself which sent a red flag in Rosie's mind. Something was definitely wrong.
"Is that why there's golden blood on your dress, dear?" Rosie questioned gently with a kind and sympathetic look.
She got her answer when Abigail went stiff as her eyes widened in fear and Rosie didn't like that look in her eyes. Not too long now and she already likes the girl.
She gestured for Abigail to come sit on the bed with her and she did so but with some distance between them.
"I can tell that there's something chaining you down, sweetie. And the gold blood was apparently from you." Rosie said as Abigail just stayed silent but was fidgeting nervously.
"H-How do I know I can trust you? You're a sinner... Sinners were known to be liars." Abigail said uncertainty.
"Oh, Abigail, darling, I know I may not look trustworthy but I know when to keep a major secret from everyone and if what you have is something that must be kept between us. Then I swear to my status as an Overlord that I will do everything in my power to keep this talk between us." Rosie reassured her while tucking a stray hair from Abigail's eyes.
Abigail looked at her in silence. Maybe... Maybe she can trust her? But what if Rosie does something bad to her after she finds out what she is?! What then?! She might just have to take the risk and show her.
"Y-You promise not to tell anyone what I'm gonna reveal?" She asked unsurely with deep hesitance and nervousness in her voice but her eyes spoke unspoken fear of being alone.
"I promise, dear. I won't tell anyone." Rosie reassured her again with a smile.
Abigail nodded before closing her eyes and her wings appeared and Rosie covered her mouth in shock and surprise.
"Oh now this is a regal surprise!" Rosie exclaimed in shock and disbelief. She has a seraphim. A seraphim in her home and Emporium! But there was clearly something wrong. Looking at four of the six wings, she could clearly tell that it was not connected, indicating that it was dislocated or someone popped the joint out of alignment and some of the feathers which looked so soft and beautiful were missing.
"Oh my stars... What happened to your beautiful wings?" Rosie questioned in concern as she put a gentle hand on the broken wings but Abigail pulled it back with a whimper of pain and Rosie felt her motherly instincts kicked in at that. That's it! She's adopting this cute little dewdrop of a seraphim!
"P-Please, don't tell anyone! If you do, then they'll hurt me!" Abigail suddenly pleaded as tears started to fall from her eyes.
Rosie pulled her in her arms gently and was being careful of her injured wings. She may not know who the "they" Abigail is talking about but she's not gonna let anyone touch her sweet daughter(not yet). She shushed Abigail in a motherly tone and hummed softly while rocking them back and forth as Abigail's cries softened up to small soft snores as the Seraphim had fallen asleep.
Rosie laid her on the bed and pulled the blanket up to her shoulders. She may need to tell a doctor about the wing and get it to pop back into place and it might take a long while for the missing feathers to fully heal and grow. So for now, she'll have to let her little dewdrop rest and settle in for now.
While Abigail was resting, unaware that two different colored strings attached and tied themselves around the pinkies of both hands of the sleeping seraphim. One was a neon green color and one was an apple red color as it was invisible to the eyes of everyone.
On the other end of the green string, a being in red nearly doubled over with a strained wide smile as he clutched his chest from the sudden wave of emotions. Emotions that he can decipher as confusion, fear, shock, nervousness, sadness and an overwhelming sense of grief with a small bit of safety. He glanced at his hand once he noticed a green glow coming from it and to his utter curiosity, a green string was tied to his pinkie finger. He raised his hand to get a closer look but it disappeared as soon as it appeared. He couldn't see it but he could definitely feel that it was still there.
He let out a low hum before letting a wide and sharp smile appear on his face as he put his hands behind his back with his microphone staff being held by one of his hands as he looked out the window of his tower.
"Things will start to get very entertaining, indeed." He chuckled deeply as his eyes glowed an eerie red.
Meanwhile, on the other end of the red string, hands scrambled to catch the little duck he was working on when the sudden wave of emotions consisting of confusion, fear, shock, nervousness, sadness, an overwhelming sense of grief and a small bit of safety suddenly washed over his heart. He breathed heavily as he looked at the duck in his hands as he was bent over the table from catching it and tried to catch his breath normally when something red and glowing caught his eye. He brought his hand closer to his face to see a red string tied around his pinkie but it disappeared instantly just as it appeared yet he could still feel that it was there.
He looked out the window of his estate while holding the rubber duck he was working on.
"This is gonna be something new."
The strings that tied themselves to the three individuals glowed ominously as fate has started to set its course. The strings can help them find who they're meant to be with but it all depends on them to decide whether they accept it or not.
