Chapter 3
"Well, well, well... What do we have here? A princess who finally went rogue?"
Elenore froze just as she was about to send her enderman on to the group. Narrowing her eyes she spun around quickly toward the familiar, new voice. "What do you want, Darwin?! Can't you tell I'm busy!" she shouted.
"Oh, I can clearly see that, Elenore. Doesn't mean I care..." Darwin said, adjusting his fur trimmed cape. "But alas, that is exactly what I'm here for. You can thank my new little... friend." He said, glancing to the shorter man beside him.
"He was really hard to persuade. Like- really hard. He loves his gold a little too much..." Ren said, glancing to the crown upon the Nether King's head. As of course, the crown was made of gold, a band curving from the ears to the front, a gap at the forehead. From there, two deep red horns came off it, curling outward with a little twist at the peaks.
Elenore growled. "Leave me, brother! I want nothing to do with you, I-"
One of her enderman screeched, and instantly her eyes widened as she turned back. She growled again at the group's absence, and waved her arm swiftly, sending some of her enderman after them. She then turned again to Darwin as the nether king sent Ren off to find his friends. "I would have had them if it weren't you... This is your fault!" she said.
Darwin shook his head. "Honestly, sister. We all hoped you wouldn't fall for the darkness of the End. You do know I have to stop you now, right? The End of Eyes must be destroyed, that darkness eliminated." he said.
"That is only because you don't want me taking over your Nether, isn't it..." she said, backing up a little, gathering more enderman around her.
Darwin smirked a little. "Maybe..." he said. He gestured toward himself slightly, and from behind him limped over a horde of zombie pigmen. "Let's begin."

"Water- water- water!" Impulse shouted. "WE NEED WATER!" Impulse screeched as an enderman teleported in front of him, roaring at him.
"We don't have any!" Etho said, jumping at the enderman. The thin creature growled and teleported, Etho thumping to the ground.
"If we had weapons or something, this would be so much easier!" Impulse said, quickly helping Etho back to his feet. The masked man then turned and picked Scar back up again as they continued running.
"Man- If I really had my wheelchair, you guys could use it to beat the living daylights out of these creatures!" Scar chuckled. "Just imagine it-"
"Now is not the time for jokes and such, Scar. We need to get out of here and fast!" Cleo said. She screeched to a halt as she turned a corner, and quickly began running again. "If only we had Xisuma- he seems to really know these halls, and all we're doing is getting lost- AH!"
Cleo jerked back, Impulse running into her. He stumbled back, shaking his head. "Cleo- why'd you stop?!" he asked. Looking up he paused and widened his eyes. "Oh-"
"Turn the other way-" Cleo said, turning sharply as she ran past Impulse and by Etho- pausing when she reached the corner. "Crap... Guys, I think we're trapped." she said, glancing to both hordes of enderman roaring and teleporting closer.
"What do we do now?!" Impulse asked. "We're stuck!"
"Not for long!" Pearl shouted, cutting her sword through the horde of enderman, Xisuma just behind her. The enderman turned and screeched at her, teleporting all around as they aimed to attack. As soon as she saw an opening though, she gestured for the others to follow, out through the halls they continued their run, Pearl and Xisuma leading them along.
"Alright, down this hall- turn right, and it'll take you outside!" Pearl said, moving to the back of the group to fight off the coming enderman. "There you will find the End portal- don't hesitate to jump through!" she said.
"Come on guys- we're so close!" Ren said, gesturing to the others to keep running. He had just joined the group a moment ago, just after Pearl and Xisuma did. He didn't know these halls, but he was grateful he managed to run into them.
"Scar- I am throwing you in. You are far too heavy for me to keep carrying you-" Etho said.
"Oh, that's fine. Just get me outside and I can use my wings!" Scar said.
"Wings would be smart, we could fly out of the reach of these enderman!" Cleo said. Turning the corner, she burst the doors open, immediately running outside. They must have run in a full circle, because now they were back at the main entrance where Darwin and Elenore fought by the sword just to the side, the piglins and enderman attacking each other all around the two.
To the other side laid the End portal, and quickly the friends ran for it.
Darwin glanced behind himself, seeing them all jump through the portal. Giving a small smirk he looked back at his sister, and slowly began to back up.
Elenore perked up, not at first noticing the smirk. Thinking he was falling back, or wearing out or trying to escape her, she began fighting harder. Raising her sword, she hesitated upon seeing his face- what was he thinking? Was he planning something?!
Taking the hesitation to his advantage, he pushed Elenore back a little then moved back against the portal. He bowed fashionably, then raised his hand to salute her teasingly.
The End queen growled, and jumped forward to attack him. "Noo! Stay here you coward- fight me!" she shouted.
Darwin let out a laugh and quickly fell backwards, right into the portal, leaving the End as well as his minions to continue to fight off the enderman.
In a fit of rage Elenore threw a ball of glittering magic at a piglin, watching it suddenly begin to wither and shrivel up. Lifting her sword again, she turned on the rest of them to end them all. She'd have to dump them all into the void- or else the place would stink of zombie piglins for months. And she did not like that smell.

Coming through the portal, Darwin was taken back to the center of the large park- back where the chaos began... He climbed out of the large hole made from the ender dragon. It had destroyed the fountain, the End portal having been hidden beneath it. He walked up to the group as they looked around... They had not seen their city since they were taken as prisoners that night...
Some of them almost regretted coming back to the overworld... The sight was just too hard to take in. All was dark, a misty purple fog had found it's way all around. No human was in sight, unless they were hiding or enslaved... buildings were turned into rubble, ruins from only weeks before.
Scar wiped a couple tears from his cheeks. Once again watchers had destroyed his home, leaving nearly nothing of it... It was nearly completely overrun by the people of the end. People who only loved chaos and betrayal... People who were only evil, once again proven by his 'used to be' friend.... Grian- no... Zeqain... was a monster. No true heart hid under his mask. All he wanted was destruction- to rule over all... And now, he had done just that, he had practically won. He had the kingdom. And they had nothing.
"...What do we do now...? Where do we go? We can't stay here, even if we wanted to- watchers are still everywhere. It's just not safe anymore..." Impulse said.
Scar nodded in agreement. While they were out of the End, they weren't out of the fire yet. Watchers roamed the city, flying above the building or searching for any survivors. He had to hover close to the ground to lessen their chances of getting caught. Biting his lip, he glanced down to Mumbo. While Scar may have lost his home twice, the man in the suit had lost something far worse... He'd lost his best friend- no. He lost his brother.
And once again, Mumbo would not look up. The pain would be too much if he did. His heart ached enough from the last couple weeks. He still hadn't gotten over what happened when he was last here. Lightly his fingertips brushed over his upper lip. He still couldn't get over Zeqain...
"Come with me, I will give you a place to stay. But, it is far warmer than it is in the Overworld." Darwin said, stepping forward as he looked over them all.
"You're going to take us to the Nether?" Xismua asked, looking up to the king.
"Well, I can't leave you all here by yourselves." Darwin said, beginning to walk down an old path.
"I thought you didn't care though. About anything really." Ren said, running to catch up with the tall elf, the others following behind.
"I don't." the Nether king smiled.
"Then why are you doing this?" Etho asked.
"How else do you think I'm going to take down Elenore and the watcher? You're going to do it for me- or with me if I choose. You can't do anything if you're captured again." Darwin said.
Ren shook his head slightly. "Of course."
"But- if I'm giving you a place to stay- you must mine for me while you do. That will be your... payment, I suppose." the king chuckled. Ren facepalmed.
"Let me guess, we'll be mining gold." the half dog said.
"What else would it be?" Darwin asked.
Scar chuckled slightly. "We'll be digging for gold..." he grinned.
"Scar- no! I know what you're implying!" Impulse shouted.
***
Zeqain bent down, picking up the broken helmet. He examined it, narrowing his eyes as he looked at the small, purple bloodstains on the shattered visor... Whoever knocked him out- who ever stopped him from killing that useless ex-watcher...
They... were going to pay...
