"Now if you want to start training you have to show us you can actually use your powers to some degree." Vicis says looking at us. About thirty kids ,including me, have decided to become guardians. Our abilities determine what position in the team we begin with. They split us up into different rooms and Vicis comes in my room. "Statera?". "Yes Vicis" She asks "And what can you do?" I say "Uhm... I can augment other people's powers or mimic them. I can also summon weapons and creatures." "Okay summon a weapon."

I concentrate and summon a gun. From what I can tell the gun shoots electricity. Vicis takes it and examines it. "Interesting weapon." She tries shooting me and it disappears. "Very interesting indeed. Let's move to your mimicry." She closes her eyes and fire starts spreading across her. She opens her eyes. "Your turn." I look at her carefully and flames start engulfing me. It's hot but it doesn't hurt. She walks around me thinking. She asks. "Do you have to see it to do it?" "If it's someone I don't know, yes. If I know them, they just have to be nearby for me to mimic their power."

"Okay make my flames hotter." I stop my fire and watch her flames. I focus on growing her flames and the room gets hotter. Her fire goes out and she takes a few notes. " I'm thinking leader or second in command. Will you go back outside and wait for further instructions." I head back outside thinking. Leader? I don't want to be leader. Maybe I could request a different position... Salutem walks up. "Hey Statera what position did you get? I got medic." "Leader..." He smiles "I knew it." "Sal..."

He laughs "Come on you'd be a great leader. I hope we get to be in the same team." He kisses me. I blush and look down. A little worried he asks "Statera? Did I do something wrong?" "No Sal... You didn't do anything wrong." He lifts my chin so I'm looking at him. "Good. I like you Tera." Vicis interrupts us. "You two love birds should pay attention." Salutem says "Sorry Vicis."
