Part 2- Cordelia
This is Open Your Eyes by Bea Miller (there is a Nightcore version of it) and is one of my favorite songs and I think you should read the book series that this song promotes (rumor has it that they sre going to be make a movie series for that series). The book series is the WaterFire Saga. I know that a couple of the verses don't go with this story very well but, if you change the idea of being underwater to the idea of being on land, it will correlate with the story more. Anyways, I'm going to stop talking and let you read this part.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Hey! I’m Cordelia. I’m going to assume you already heard Adara’s story. Well, I’m going to tell my story but continue from where she left my house.
Adara leaves. I hope her parents are fine with her hair.
“Rrrr-iiii-nnnn-gggg!” My phone’s ringing. Who would be calling me now? Oh! It’s Chrysanthos.
“Hey Chrysanthos. Is there something you need?”
“Hey Cordelia. No, I was wondering if we could go to the beach this Saturday?”
“Sure! What time?”
“I was thinking we could meet at about 11am?”
“Works for me.”
“Great! Also, I was walking by your house about an hour ago and saw that Adara girl going to your house. Why was she there?”
“Oh, her. Ugh, the teacher assigned me as her tutor since she needed help with an assignment.” ‘Great, now I’m lying to my bff,’ I thought to myself.
“Oh, alright. Well, I’ll talk to you tomorrow.”
“Yeah. See ya.”
That was a close one. Timeskip to Saturday.
Alright, found my swimsuit, sunscreen, sunglasses and beach towel. Got everything I need so let’s go meet Chrysanthos at the beach. About 10 minutes later.
“Hey Cordelia! Over here!”
“Coming!” I reply as I run over. “Where do you want to set up our stuff?”
“How about a few feet from the water?”
“Why not?”
We start setting up our stuff when I hear someone in the water screaming ‘help’.
“Do you hear that?” I ask Chrysanthos.
“Hear what?”
“Someone screaming.”
“No…? Are you sure you aren’t hearing things?"
“I’m sure I hear someone screaming. I’m going to go check it out anyways.” I started sprinting to the water to find a young girl stuck in a RIP tide, which are rare to find where we live.
“Hold on! I’m coming!” I shout as I dive into the water to get the girl.
I get the girl to shore and find myself stuck in the RIP tide myself. I start floating under the water when I start hearing a voice calling my name. Wait?! Isn’t this how Adara described her encounter?! Anyways, after I’m underwater, I see myself with dark fading to light blue hair looking at me.
“I assume that you are Cordelia?” the mysterious girl asks.
I nod my head.
“Then you’re able to breathe down here.”
“What?!”
“Yes and now it will be a lot easier to explain your new form.”
“My new form?”
“Do you recognize me?”
“I know you look exactly like me except the hair.”
“This will be your new appearance.”
“Wait, WHAT?!”
“Do you have a friend named Adara?”
“Yeah…?”
“You will have to explain this to her very carefully. You two are elements, Water and Fire. I would assume that you know who is which so I’ll continue. There are two others that will have elemental powers. I think their names are Aither and Chrysanthos. I’m not sure. They are going to be the Earth and Air elements. I don’t know who is going to have which element.”
“Wait, wait, wait. Aither and Chrysanthos?”
“Yeah. Did I pronounce the names wrong?”
“No, just didn’t think that they were elements too.”
“Oh, alright. And when you tell all of this to Adara-”
“Cordelia! Where are you?” Chrysanthos is looking for me. I need to hurry this up.
“Who is that calling for you Cordelia?”
“A friend I was hanging out with.”
“Well as I was saying, when you tell Adara all of this, you will want to be somewhere secluded or private where no one will be able to over hear you. Also, there is one other teen that has elemental powers. Their element is Light and Dark mixed. Their name is Ayla. You will meet her later on after the Earth and Air elements are found and I have to train you guys.”
“Alright. Oh yeah, one more thing, is there a way to make your hair stay as your normal hair color?”
“Sorry but, no. The only way is to dye it back.”
“Alright. Thanks for the info. I should probably head back.”
“Yeah. Hope to see you again!” The mysterious girl says as I swim away. I should’ve gotten her name.
“Cordelia! There you are! Where were you?”
“I saved a little girl and uh, swam out to that island over there,” I say pointing out to an island which is not that far from shore. Glad that island was there.
“Uh, ok. Why is your hair blue?”
“I must’ve gotten some kind of goo in it while I was swimming or on the island.”
“Makes sense. Oh yeah, while you were over there, you parents called saying that you had to go home right away. I don’t know why so don’t ask me.”
“Alright. Well, see you later Chrysanthos,” I say as I start heading towards my stuff.
“Bye Cordelia.”
After I packed up my things, I headed towards home as my phone started buzzing notifying me that I was getting a call.
“Hello?” I ask.
“Where are you?”
“Sorry but, who is this?”
“Adara.”
“Oh hey, where could I meet you later so we can talk?”
“You could come to my place later. My parents won’t be here again until Monday.”
“Okay, cool. I need to swing by my place first though. Make sure you send me your address through text.”
“Alright. See you later.”
“Yeah,” I hang up.
Alright, I need to hurry home.
“Hey sweetie, one of your friends came over asking for you,” that’s my mom, Amelia.
“Who was it?”
“I don’t know her name but she had red fading to orange hair.”
“Her name is Adara. Is it fine if I went to her house?”
“Go ahead. Change first please.”
“Oh yeah, my swimsuit.” I ran to my room and changed into a tank-top and a pair of shorts.
“Cordelia, what is up with your hair?”
“It’s some kind of goo from the beach. It’s not poisonous but it’s permanent.”
“Oh, alright. Well see you later sweetie.”
“Bye mom,” I say as I start running to Adara’s. Once I get to Adara’s, I knock on her door.
“Hey Lia. Your hair!”
“That’s what I came over to explain.”
“Wait, WHAT?!”
“Let’s get inside so we don’t spoil the secret.”
“That might be a good idea,” she says as we go into her house and sit in the living room.
“Alright. Should I start on how I ended up finding the girl?”
“Yeah.”
“Alright. I was at the beach with Chrysanthos when I heard a little girl screaming. I soon learned that she was stuck in a RIP tide. You know how rare those are, right?”
“Yeah... Did Chrysanthos hear the screaming?”
“No, that’s the thing.”
“Weird. Anyways, continue.”
“I saved the girl from the RIP tide and I get stuck in it. That’s where I started hearing someone calling my name. I met the girl who looked exactly like me and explained to me what happened to us.”
“So what exactly happened?”
“We’re elements and based on what the girl told me, I’m lead to believe that Aither and Chrysanthos are the other two elements, well, two of the other four. There is one other teen that already has their elemental powers, Light and Dark mixed, her name is Ayla. We are the Fire and Water elements. I’m Water and you’re Fire.”
“Neat. Wait, there are more than four elements? And do you know what elements the boys have?”
“Yes, and I only know that they are the Air and Earth elements, just don’t know who has which element.”
“Makes sense. How did she know that I was an element though?”
“I don’t know, I didn’t ask.”
“Okay, that’s kinda creepy.”
“I know. I think that she might be the same girl that you saw but different appearances.”
“That makes sense but, how did she know where to find us?”
“Good point. I guess we are going to have to wait until we encounter her again.”
“Yeah.”
"Oh yeah, you never did tell me what happened with your parents and your hair."
"Well… I got home right after my parents got home and needless to say they started yelling at me like I committed a crime and I have to do extra chores when they are around, which isn't very often." After Adara said that, we both heard knocking.
“Come in! The door’s open!” Adara shouts through the house. “I’m pretty sure that’s the guy my parents had asked to come over to fix the water system in our house. But we should probably change the subject before he comes through.”
“Yeah, like how you are friends with Cordelia!”
A/N- Cliffhanger! Who do you think came into the room? Leave your answers in the comments. I highly doubt that there are any fans yet but you guys could create fan art for my characters of what you think the look like (not Aither or Chrysanthos yet). I’ll give credit to whoever makes some. Also, with the concept of fanart, I’ll be posting that in the last part.
